Journal Entry: It's good to be away from Silvermoon for a time. The bitterness between my sister Danyx and our cousin Danlily permeates both the deFafnyr and deStrasza Houses almost as badly as the odor of Clys that clings to House Nex'Cruor. That the lands of our three estates abut to each other in an intersection of property lines is oddly symbolic of the way our families have connected over centuries. Originally we were of one family till three brothers divided their father's lands into three parts, like petals on a Trillium. This was generations ago. The deFafnyr branch took a small part of the vineyards and the whole of the herb farms. The deStrasza's took the main vineyards and orchards. The Nex'Cruors took the silk farms. All three branches thrived until Prince Arthas invaded Quel'Thalas. It was a slow recovery for all of us. Our kind kept to ourselves, nursed our wounds, nurtured our hatred and through it all we rebuilt our lands.

The deStrasza's never quite recovered. Danlily's family borrowed heavily. The Nex'Cruor's bailed them out time and time again. Even when the grapes saw good seasons, good wine was always a luxury item and few could afford such. The deStrasza vineyards struggled. The Nex'Cruor's on the other hand, well, silk spun to absorb and retain magical properties were always in demand with mages and wizards and a must-have for a race addicted to mana. The Nex'Cruor family thrived. They developed influence and power, and good people began looking the other way whenever the Nex'Cruor's did wrongful things. The old Baron got away with more and more atrocities. The Immortalis, once a secret organization, went public under the leadership of my cousin Clys, once a beautiful bloodelf like my sister, now a charred undead horror.

Danyx and I stood by watching from a distance at House deFafnyr. Our family kept the wines we could not sell due to the economy but our herbs sold well to alchemists and physicians. Danyx often told me secretly that if only the deStraszas and Nex'Cruors would war with each other like neighboring dogs we could just wait it out till they exhausted each other and then she could go in and scoop up the remains. Unfortunately, warring between those two cousins were never the case. Those two branches of the family were always tightly bound together. What worried my sister most was what if they decided to turn their attention our way. She has grown quite anxious of this of late, and has started looking for ways to diffuse any possible threat. It worries her that Clys and Danlily have been so quite. Too quiet.

I'm rambling, I know. It's so hard to focus on it all, and that is why I'm glad I'm away. I am not full blooded like my sister, Danyx. My half human blood gives me the freedom to live outside all that family drama and I've taken my life to Stormwind where I train as a Guardian...they call us Paladin's here. I guard, I protect. I do not care if they are horde or alliance. A life is a life, and there have been rights and wrongs on both sides of this coldwar. Right now all I want is peace. Peace from the politics. Peace from the war. Peace from the talk of vengeance that scents the air of Silvermoon, and peace from the family drama. If there is anyone for me to blame or to war with, it is the Scourge. I have joined the Scourge Slayers led by Lady Teelia. I will be able to learn a lot under her banner, and it will keep my mind off the troubles of home.

((Yay! More!!!!

And by the way, you pegged it perfectly. Individually, we are each a scourge slayer. Hence why I didn't put the end "s" on the end of the guild name. Together, we are the Scourge Slayers. I just like when people look at my guild tag and say "Oh, she's a Scourge Slayer."

hehe. Sorry for the hijack. Back to your awesome journal.))
