((This is recurring weekly event.))

A small poster is placed in plain view quite close to the Stormwind Auction House. It was handwritten in elegant cursive and decorated with miscellaneous frills along the edges. If you were to glance at it for a brief moment, it would read:

Fine Harborside Drinks!

Every Friday at the eighteenth hour until the twenty first hour, Aldencia Gapspark will be at your service for drinks and entertainment. We will offer you lovely service, lovely drinks and lovely atmosphere all with our profit from selling to you drinks, and lots of them! Come by and get smashed. Chat with new people. Chat with old friends. Even just to enjoy the beauty of the harbor and the gathered people around you.

((Every Friday an IC event called Fine Harborside Drinks will be held by Aldencia between 6:00PM and 9:00PM Server Time. Some weeks there will be a wide assortment of drinks to choose from. Other weeks, there won't be. So enjoy the RP and come put some money in my pocket. We will only serve drinks. Don't ask for food unless it's a magic cinnamon roll. :D))

((Sounds kinda interesting, though nothing that hasn't been done.

I have no ideas off the top of my head, but maybe think of something to spice it up? I've been to a couple of wandering taverns that were to say the least... quiet.

Make sure there is a fire, that's always a nice effect, maybe hire a cook, you could say fresh fish straight from the harbor!

That would be cool I think. Set up some umbrellas too hehe.

That's all I got, I will try to attend when I can. MY BAD!! Sorry about the OOC post))

"Hmm, I could use some sun, and some drinks." thought Bevros. "Sounds perfect!"

((The whole purpose isn't for buisness. I don't particularly care if anyone shows up. I'm merely trying to give everyone more RP oppurtunities and the like cuz I'm nice like that. ))

((A new poll has been added. To ensure attendee happiness and attendance, please choose the most convenient and/or appealing location/day for you.))

((Note that if you choose Mirror Lake Orchard the event will be renamed, readapted and rewritten. A purchase will occur.. Actual RP will happen, it won't be all.. POOF! It's at an orchard instead of a dock now!))

((Also note that due to competition with the Wandering Tavern on Fridays, Saturday may over rule. Be sure to pick your favorite location. Also we'll be serving food to spice up the competition.))

((ALSO! There are NO LONGER any defias mobs skulking around the orchard. We can enjoy a picnic peacefully without an arcane barrage being shot off every 30 seconds.))

((For an RP-based influence.. I will now ruin a surprise. Our next opening will have fresh fish on the menu, aswell as a fire. Mirror Lake is.. A LAKE. Stormwind Docks is next to an OCEAN. So if your character likes lake fish better than ocean fish or vice versa choose which best applies to your character.

Everyone thank Bevros for the nice idea.))

((Mirror Lake Orchard, 6PM to 9PM ST on Saturdays is winning on the polls. As such, we will be scheduled to open tommorow at 6PM. However, due to personal, important events.. I won't be opening until Sunday.. Three and a half hours before the Wandering Tavern opens and we will close roughly one half hour before they open.

SUNDAY! 4:30 PM ST will be our opening time for THIS WEEK ONLY. We will never again open on Sundays. So come by to Mirror Lake Orchard.. Bring money and a roleplay appetite. <3 ))

((This buisness is no longer operable. With competition like the Wandering Tavern and an utter disinterest of practically EVERYONE.. I can't make profit and therefore am losing money, not making it. So.. Um.. I wish I had some sort of smart Aleria thing to say. D= ))

((You might want to consider decreasing fixed costs. The only way the Wandering Tavern was able to operate was because I paid wages as a function of sales, which made it entirely possible to have no fixed costs if we sold nothing. It was very hard to take a loss, unless of the case of product liquidation. Also, keep in mind that unless you are going off of cash basis accounting (which fails), you don't recognize the expenses of items until you sell them.... to illustrate...

Inventory____________________________300
__Gold Reserve___________________________ 300

These are two balance sheet accounts. All you have done is transferred money from one to the other. Assuming this is 30 of something at a cost of 10 each, and a sale price of 30, here is what a sale of two would look like.

Gold Reserve______________________60
Cost of Goods Sold_________________20
__Revenue___________________________60
__Inventory__________________________20

Revenue and Cost of Goods sold are both closed to income summary, which is further closed to retained earnings, but both of them are income statement accounts. The calculation of income goes something like this:

Revenue: 60
Expenses: 20
Net Income: 40

as opposed to cash basis, which might say:

Revenue: 60
Expenses: 300
Net Loss: (240)

This is just one of the many reasons why cash basis accounting fails, and isn't really used anywhere else. The other problem with it is that it allows people to defer expenses, and act like they were never accrued. (i.e. Fraud, see: Janet Napolitano's K-12 "rollover") ))
