Zulaja stood waiting in the rain. It matted down her hair so it stuck to her leathers and actually looked cleaner than it usually was. The collar around her neck glimmered periodically and she rubbed the back of her hand against her nose to stop the constant drip. Her raptor, Dreadlock, gnawed on a bone under a palm frond nearby. His back claws tapped a louder rhythm than the rain upon the shore.

Zulaja shivered. Even though the tropical rain was warm, if you stood out in it too long, anyone could be susceptible to it. Especially since at night she slept in a stone cell without any floor covering, only her scaly companion as a pillow.

Anticipating the agony, she flinched harder than it actually hurt. Since the Good Doctor no longer had his communicator, she could not speak with him, but no doubt Holdeng was nearby and her response would need to be imminent.

"Yah Doctah. I be waitin' an dere no be nobuddeh 'ere."

There was a moment of silence, probably when Holdeng was telling the Good Doctor her response. She added, "Dere no be no sign o' da Vilmah o' Sanctuareh. I be waitin' in da rain for dem. Like a good girl."

A few minutes past without a jolt of agony tearing through her body and Zulaja sighed in delight, awaiting notice that the orc known as Vilmah might arrive and she could deliver the letter to her. That way, she could get out of the rain and maybe go get more meat for Dreadlock. The Good Doctor had promised her he'd heard through his methods that Vilmah frequented the place. She had only to hope that the orc did because any longer and no doubt there'd be pain to pay.

Vilmah bounced slightly, as Edmund trotted through the rain. It was uncomfortable on both their parts, as his fur was matted and wet, and her armor was rubbing uncomfortably against her skin. She shivvered and allowed her teeth to chatter in the cold.

"Oi.. I'll be Nojin would like this," she said with a grim smile. " 'ah be likin' da cold', he says... I'll never understand that--," she paused in the middle fo the road, and noticed a troll standing beside a raptor. She looked somewhat forelorn, no doubt as uncomfortable as she was in the rain.

Vilmah waved.

"Hallo there!" She said, with a friendly smile. "What would you be doing out here, alone? It's frightfully cold out, you know, you're liable to catch your death in this weather."

Edmund kept his distance. His fur, damp with rain, didn't allow Vilmah to realize that it was standing on end. He didn't like the smell coming from this troll.

Zulaja dully looked at her and then waved back. "I be waitin' for someone o' Sanctuary." Her eyes lacked the luster of most trolls, their bright playfulness did not show on any of her features.

The troll looked down at the parchment in her hands that held a smudged but simplistic drawing of what Vilmah looked like. She looked up at the orc and then back at the drawing not sure if her eyes, which were better used to looking in the distance, were drawing a connection.

"I be carryin' a message for Vilmah o' Sanctuareh. Mebbe choo be knowin' da ladeh?"

She winced as pain rippled out from her neck. Another quick jolt followed. Clearly the Doctor was impatient.

"Oh yes!" Vilmah said with a smile. "I'm Vilmah, actually! Warboss of Sanctuary. A letter, you say? I wonder from who?"

She thought for a moment on who would ned to communicate via mail, instead of hearthstone or face-to-face. Meanwhile, Edmund kept quiet, and waited.

The relief on Zulaja's face almost made colour come back into her skin. "Here!" She shoved the letter at Vilmah and ran off, her reluctant and hungry raptor followed her, eyes roving for a possible meal. As she ran off, she could be heard saying, "I gave it doctah! Don't hurt me doctah! I be a good girl!"

When opened it reads:

Vilmah of Sanctuary,

I have discovered the grave news of the death of Gorthok at your hands. While I understand what a misery this might have caused you, since you preach peace, I therefore understand you might be the only one who would respond to this.

You owe Gorthok, a great leader of the Horde, but alas was a drunken lout and that is a weakness and therefore he was weak and perhaps deserved his fate. In any case I digress. If it were up to me, all of the weak members of the Horde... It continues on in such a manner for about two pages of scribbly text, circling about the same topic and then mentioning some of the works the Doctor has done for the Horde and the importance of solidarity in front of the Alliance.

Therefore it is with grave importance I ask you to heed this call. The final progeny of Gorthok, his last seed, the one who has passed on his legacy... she has been kidnapped. The daughter of the orc, his little child, his lifeblood, she has been kidnapped and held ransom. I was sent the missive, much to my utmost confusion as I have never met Gorthok nor this child, but it has become apparent through my dealings with the Horde and my knowledge of such interworkings that you will be the only one who would come to her aid.

The ransom is unimportant. I had my minion Holdeng discover her whereabouts through his network of brilliant spies. So there is no need to pay it, afterall, that is just encouring the louses to continue with their dastardly work. She is unharmed, but is in Tiragarde Keep in Durotar.

I am incapable of retrieving her and as for my minion, he has not been able to break their forces. We beg your assistance as you were the one who killed the father and so you will save the daughter, Nekrani, and be redeemed.

Tiragarde Keep. Durotar.

Yours, Ecetera, Ecetera,
Doctor Villinger

As Vilmah read the letter, her mouth opened increasingly wider. Once she finished it, her jaw hung wide open, her eyes large saucers of shock.

"I.. he.. WHAT?!"

She stuttered atop Edmund for a few seconds, trying to get the facts straight. She didn't know Gorthok to have had a child, and if he even cared for her, she figured he'd have told her about the daughter when he'd asked her to marry him!

"What a dirty thing to do, not to tell me.." she muttered.

Unless this was fake.

Holdeng and Villinger were the ones who'd collred Niethan. They were known far and wide as mad scientists, and Vilmah's recent mental distress certainly fell under their desired studies. She thought long and hard what to do, then pulled out some parchment of her own and wrote a letter.

Dear Doctor Villinger,

I thank you for your information. It all seems rather strange, because as much of a drunken lout as he was, Gorthok never mentioned his child. Please don't misunderstand me, I would certainly rescue her, if she existed. I'm just not very convinced that she does, and it wouldn't be in my best interests to walk into Tiragarde Keep alone.

So I'll let you know right now, yes. I'll rescue this "Nekrani". I'll even do it tomorrow night, around eight. However, I won't be alone, so if you or anyone else is planning something, I'd suggest including the very best of Sanctuary's higher officers in whatever schemes you might have cooked up.

If you're being truthful, please accept my apologies. The truth is, I haven't heard very good things about you. If this letter is the first of a series of kind gestures, I will be more than happy to proclaim your goodness of heart.

Thank you for the information, however truthful it may be,

Vilmah Bloodborne
Warboss of Sanctuary

Villinger continued to check the mail box in Razor Hill. His excitement grew and the postal clerk who dropped off the mail hourly got annoyed by his insistance to check before it was placed.

"AHA!" He snatched the letter from the box before it even hit wood and tore it open and read. He stopped reading, his mouth moving along with the words and began reading again. He read the letter again, this time paying extra attention to the words and then tapped the letter with his fingers.

"So she doesn't trust me. ME!" He snarled and kicked against the doorway only to wound his foot and then he bounced about in anger for a good few minutes while screetching for the Innkeeper to build better Inns that didn't hurt when you kicked them.

After a few minutes he calmed and then re-read the letter. He dropped to his knees and penned a response, ink bursting from his quill onto the paper as his fingers held it too tight.

Warboss of Sanctuary Vilmah,

Clearly I understand your concern as I was unaware he had a daughter myself. When I asked about of her origin and whether it was true, the response was... yes he had a child only he did not view her as his own since she was a girl and a warlock, not male and a warrior. While I do not condone his view on this subject, I understand his disappointment at a child not following in the father's footsteps. Especially when you consider orcs who toy with demons caused the trouble you orcs had not that long ago.

Even so, a troublesome child, no doubt, as all children are. I also understand her tastes went towards "Peace" and "Understanding" instead of battle like her father. It does not matter, for she is in grave danger. I hope she will not succumb while she waits your assistance.

If tomorrow is all you are capable of offering. Then tomorrow she shall be saved. You are most gracious... to bring the rest of Sanctuary along with you... Most... gracious.

Yours, Ecetera, Ecetera,
Doctor Villinger of Asylum.

((Sorry about not showing Vilmah -- RL and some in game issues hit and I was unable to log in. I just assumed it would happen without Villinger anyway, but I don't think I was the only one who couldn't log in that night.

While in character I'm sure Villinger is not to be trusted, I hope that we could attempt the event again. It was going to be interesting.

I'm in transit to the United Kingdom right now and probably won't be settled in until next week. Sorry about not showing, that's probably the most obnoxious and frustrating thing about the game -- if you can't make it on time it doesn't happen.))

((No worries, sweety. The kidnapped girl wasn't there, so afterwards we went on a Sanctuary-an patrol through Ashenvale. We'll do it again soon.))
