It's that time of year again. No, not St. Patrick Day.

Or the Fourth of July, but you're right those are very fun holidays and I personally can not wait for the St. Patties Day Marathon, where I kill my hang over by running over 20 miles .. for fun.

NO - It's Winters Veil- er, Christmas and that means it's time for the Obligatory, "What I got for Christmas," thread.

I got an awesome Peacoat from my old man, along with another awesome Naval coat that makes me look even more like a BAMF. Don't worry, the Peacoat is standard and doesn't have any dumb designs on it, it's just a simple navy blue peacoat, and it looks AWESOME.

I got a Tom-Tom from my parents & two gas cards that could last me until February. Hello ROAD TRIP. Hello Washington DC, Hello NYC, Hello Boston, Chicago, and Miami. My name is Alexander, and if you don't see me this Winter Break, or for Spring Break, you will see me for my Summer road trips.

Then over the period of the last two-three weeks of hanging out with friends, I have assembled an AMAZING stack of Subway gift cards that could let me get my usual two-three foot longs from Subway for... well the next six months. If you want to copy my style next year, instead of asking for Gamestop gift cards, ask for Subway gift cards. I feel like the President with all of these 5$ and 10$ gifts going towards my campaign... my campaign to eat FRESH!

50 state quarters with display frame - I had been trying to collect them at one point, but the collection was sacrificed to buy food. Plus these are uncirculated.

Heroes Season 3 - Because trying to get the season from Netflix was a PITA.

Label printer - For my birthday, I was given several items to help organize my all D&D material. Now I can label said items. (It's also for when I become a law professional, but that comes later).

Professional-looking watch - Because looking professional in a law office is important.

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks - I think this is the first video game my parents have ever gotten me. Ever. It was on the front of a Target circular because it was on sale, and my mom asked if it would be one I'd like. Caught me by surprise.

The Plane Below - This is the first D&D book my parents have ever gotten me. I guess they've finally realized that being a gamer has in fact had at least some positive influence on me, and the fact that I'm a professional game writer kind of pushed it over the top. Either that, or I'm in some kind of Dark Mirror universe. You'd think an environment book would have been one of the free ones WotC would send me, but no.

Spending my first christmas with my girlfriend even though we've been together over 4 years now. I'm making moose stew, and it's going to be fucking awesome. Even though we're both too broke to buy each other anything until January, today should be great.

Jilli's favorite was our family photos that we finally went to go have taken, and she also got a disney movie that was missing from her collection (Aladdin) and some books she was wanting.

Henri made out like a bandit, with all sorts of train set stuff and boosters for it, a mickey mouse clubhouse playset and dancing mickey mouse, and an adorable Elmo with some books.

You actually got a Henkels set with the two men? Those are 1000 dollar sets typically. A single knife is over 100 bucks. Or did you get a single man with spear brand set?

No. Henkels makes two versions of their knives. The super expensive sets have the little two man image stamped on them like in that picture and the cheaper versions have a single man with a spear stamped on them.

I hate that all cameras are rated to 10 megapixels now. Unless you're blowing things up to poster size, or doing some serious cropping it's wasted cash. In a 5x6 photo, the human eye cannot discern between 5 megapixels and anything above.

Not ragging on you Nadea, that is a fabulous gift and I need to get a new camera (job) myself (damn 4.1 megapixel PoS, takes the old Sony Duo cards they don't make anymore). But if anyone is in the market for a camera, save yourself a few hundred and grab a 6 or 7 megapixel with better contrast.

W&M is on VT's good list. You beat UVA. I'm not in a fraternity, but I'm friends with a lot of folk in Theta Xi and Sigma Chi. We have to play Rockband, it's kind of TNG VT tradition.

It's a man-date.

I typically sing and thats about it in Rockband because that's the only thing I can get 90% with, let alone 100%. Sometimes it's bad because the other people playing with be too busy laughing at my parody of Rockband songs to actually play well. Hilarity then ensues as my angelic voice saves them from doom.

My grandfather's (surprisingly powerful) laptop and 40 year retirement watch (he passed away back in october at 89). I'll have to clean the computer of a lot of stuff that I don't need, but it makes a nice replacement for the one that broke. I might actually be able to run games on this one, though I haven't checked out what kind of graphics card it's sporting yet. Been too busy watching blue-rays and playing torchlight... >.>

To be honest, I didn't enjoy it as much as I'd hoped, although I cannot put my finger on why. Could be I just wasn't in a BSG mood when I watched it.

As a plus (or minus, depending on your point of view), though, it had random unexpected nudity... o.O
