Serious congratulations on your achievement last night, guys! Still the hardest fight in the game, right?

YOU DON'T GET TO CONGRATULATE FIRST LEGION.

Also, congrats. I don't know what for, but I wanted to hop on the happy bandwagon.

As is customary with most achievement celebrations, Heid got head first.

And I took the night off even though the wife gave me the ok. They 24 manned it. This was the title I really wanted. I am a sad panda.

Gear makes it noticeably easier, but it is still very difficult without a lot of strategy and working together to solve the problems that come up. Freya+3 and Mimiron Firefighter are also both still very difficult fights regardless of gear.

I better see someone riding that fucking mount TODAY.

Heidenreich has it. I'm sure he will float around with it to show off for quite a while.

Yeah, I meant in terms of technical difficulty. I guess Anub HM is pretty rough too, but it seems like Yogg +0 is still pure perfect execution.

Aye, grats indeed! Took me a few seconds to figure out what the heck just happened to my chat box. xD and, I was on an alt. Which, is probably why no one knew who that random little lvl 40 was whispering them...

...or...uh, you were all busy drinking and celebrating. There's that.

Death's Demise is an HP lovecraft reference.

Anything related to old gods are HP Lovecraft references. Or poorly aped. But what do they say about imitation...

Death's Demise is an HP lovecraft reference.

"..and in strange aeons even death may die"

It's similar to John Donne's "Holy Sonnet X":

Death, be not proud, though some have called thee
Mighty and dreadful, for thou are not so;
For those whom thou think'st thou dost overthrow
Die not, poor Death, nor yet canst thou kill me.
From rest and sleep, which but thy pictures be,
Much pleasure; then from thee much more must flow,
And soonest our best men with thee do go,
Rest of their bones, and soul's delivery.
Thou'art slave to fate, chance, kings, and desperate men,
And dost with poison, war, and sickness dwell,
And poppy'or charms can make us sleep as well
And better than thy stroke; why swell'st thou then?
One short sleep past, we wake eternally,
And death shall be no more; Death, thou shalt die.

I wonder if that was what inspired Lovecraft.

Congrats to everyone except Fynne, who probably cowered in the corner for the whole fight.

Or got mind controlled and killed all the warlocks.

Congratulations people! Tell Siva he owns me a rematch(well, rematch of a rematch rofl but who is counting!). Now thats one guy in your guild who can PVP(judging by his relentless gear). If he put an H in between the S and I...it would fit him.

You guys are the flagship raiding guild of the realm. Don't give up on TN, we need people like you here.

Off Topic(sort of):The Old Gods are also borrowed from two other sources besides Lovecraft.

One in which the theme was a titan battling a creature named "C'tan". Also, Stephen King's "IT" was an added when Halls of Stone came about.

Old Gods are "Necrolytic Beings". Meaning Dead Light. In the warcraft universe, this strongly implies that the Old Gods are in fact evil personified, as the Light has an opposite in the form of Darkness, or if you will, Shadow.

The Cult of the Forgotten Shadow in Undercity among the Forshaken I believe strongly worships the old god beneath the region, trapped beneath the westernmost area of Tirisfal.

Said unknown Old God drove the first high elf settlers insane(Think of it like Renoik Island). This I believe is another Stephen King reference, in the form of "Storm of the Century".

I wasn't even there. :)

Damn and I had this image to of you sneaking up behind them all with this dark spinny circle over your head and starting to two shot people :(

Raid: Wtf how did I die?
Raid: Oh Jesus Fynne got MCed someone kill him quickly!
Raid: Nope he got me too.
Raid: Damnit wheres a Ret pally when you need one.

Way to ruin the image for me with your single sentence :(

Aww... :( If it matters, my longstanding excuse for failing at Yogg-sanity upkeep was that I wasn't going to compromise my RP for raiding. ;)

But I wasn't there because I haven't been subscribed for the last 6 months. Only reason I've been on the last few days is because I got one of those 7-day re-trial e-mails.

"..and in strange aeons even death may die"

"That is not dead // Which can eternal lie // Yet with strange aeons // Even death may die"

It's a nice phrase, though WoW does a poor job at capturing the essence that makes H.P. Lovecraft's mythology feel so alien and evil.

Also, congratulations, FL!

Wait, hold on, where are you getting that?

He means "necrophotic" (necro = dead, photic =of, relating to or involving light, especially as it pertains to organisms (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/photic)). It's something Brann Bronzebeard finds out in the Tribunal of Ages event in Halls of Stone.
