"I know it was you!"
He shrugged lazily. "What was me?"
"You would take the life of one of your own kind!!" Raene was yelling so everyone in Astranaar might hear her.
He quirked his eyebrow, "Ah don' know what yer talkin' about." As he spoke the words he could see her barely holding in the urge to draw her weapon.
"How could you kill her...." Raene spoke quietly this time. Her hands were balled into fists and she even shook slightly in her frustration.
"Is there any proof it was me? 'twas probably one of those orcs that yeh're lookin' teh let walk all o'er yeh." Barke could barely contain a smirk as he taunted her.
He finally struck a nerve with that last one. Raene punched him hard in the jaw. The blow set him on his heels but he settled back and gave her a small smile. "There don' yeh feel better now?" He wiped the blood from his lip still smiling.
"You are a monster. I thought you had changed....but I was wrong. Thought you were the way you were back then...." Raene rubbed her hand absently as she looked around the small island.
"Yer doin'....Ah was almost changed. Bah a druid and those people. Then yeh sold out meh family teh some humans....an' fer what? Ah remember a time when yeh would 'ave fought yer own battles." Barke let his eyes lazily close. "'tis a shame wha' yeh 'ave turned inteh."
Anger flashed across her face again. "Are you calling me a coward?"
He shrugged. "Ah never used tha' word."
The saber at her side snarled. Barke opened his golden eye halfway to consider the animal and after a moment he said something quietly towards the saber. It settled back down falling fast asleep.
Raene's eyes went wide a moment. "I thought that yo---"
"Speak a word of it and there won't be just one missing Sentinel around here." Barke's voice was low and cold. "As an old friend I will tell you....." The last part he shifted to another language. Not common or Darnassian. "~View the actions of you own. Most don't end up dead without a reason.~" As he finished he threw something down at Raene's feet but she just stared at him wide eyed.
And with that Barke turned and left Astranaar. Raene looked down and at her feet lay the Barke's Swordwaltzers tabard. She picked it up and with a sigh folded the tabard up putting it with the rest of her belongings.
