A new "rage" system has been added, which allows characters to do more damage per hit when their vitality is low. Once activated, a reddish energy aura appears around the character and their health bar starts to flicker red. The rage aura can be customized with different colors and effects to appear like fire, electricity, ice and others. Another gameplay feature added is the "bound" system. Every character has several moves that, when used on an opponent that is currently midair in a juggle combo, will cause the opponent to be smashed hard into the ground, bouncing them off the floor in a stunned state and leaving them vulnerable to another combo or additional attack.

It's been out in Japanese arcades since mid 08.
They got the console version earlier this year.
I'll probably be buying it, considering I've bought every single other tekken game, ever.

Played it the other day. Not impressed. I havent played Tekken in eight years and still managed to play Lei like a pro.
That's not good, by the way.

I dunno. I kind of like the fact that whatever Tekken game it is, I can select Paul and whoop some ass. Kind of like the Street Fighter series. I pick Ken and win. Some games might be tougher than others, or with more variety, but I like having that familiarity pass through.
Though I do have to say, comparing the two I mentioned, that Tekken is better at making it more difficult as you go along. SF is all about rock vs. paper as far as different fighters, whereas Tekken is like first-battle-easy, last-battle-tough.

I've always been a Kazuya man myself.

I disagree. Where's my diversity? Where's my need to PLAY this game. If I wanted to play a new game with a story I'd go get fuckin' Dragon Age. Tekken has the same plot anyway. One of the Mishima's win's the tournament ALWAYS. It's like watching Cena v. Orton No.6. (Also, I can respect anyone who plays Kazuya. I do so like him.)
On the flip side, the kid sitting next to me cockblocked by AndriodChick staring at me as I breezed through -was- priceless.

Paul won Tekken 3.
Just Jin got credit for it because he killed true ogre.

While I can appreciate the need or desire for diversity...that's when you buy a fighting game that isn't Tekken. I think they would lose more customers by "changing it up" than by keeping it the same. I mean, what would the thronging masses do when they picked up Super Hyper Street Fighter IV Alpha Prime Champion Edition and toward down down-toward didn't SHORYUKEN?

yes tekken has the same concept with every edition but it the familiarness that makes the game fun. not only that but its a good storyline that happens to blend in with the anime. yeah its not soul caliber but for me its one of the best fighting games out their. By the way, heihachi.
