View Full Version : Epic Mickey
Wow, a Wii game that makes me want to keep mine. It looks like it should be pretty fun, and stuff.
Here's GameInformer on it (http://gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2009/10/19/Inside-the-Game_3A00_-An-In_2D00_Depth-Look-at-Epic-Mickey_1920_s-Art-and-Animation.aspx)
I really, really hope it doesn't suck.

It's on the Wii. It will suck. End of story.

It's Steampunk Disney. It will suck.

Just because something happens before 1930, does not make it steampunk.

I've never been too fond of Mickey as far as cartoons go, but I'm willing to give it a chance. Kinda keeping a vague eye on this while waiting for them to leak more things of substance or a release date.

I don't get it. The Steampunk Willie joke was just a pun.
And if you're talking about my initial comment, this concept art looks pretty damn steampunk to me (http://kotaku.com/5325198/this-looks-like-art-from-warren-spectors-steampunk-disney-game).

I like Wii games. I like Mickey Mouse. I like Steampunk.
And this is creepy as all hell.

This interests me.
A game I might actually put into my Wii that isn't Super Smash Brothers. :X

It's Warren Spector, the guy who did Deus Ex, Thief, Ultima, and...stuff. His words: 'Disney scared the pants off me when I was a little kid. Disney needs to scare kids.'
It looks like Fall 2010 according to the almighty GameInformer. I really, really, don't want to wait a year for this.

I really really wish we could use a time machine to get Hunter S. Thompson (candidate for Sheriff) to make a game.

Okay, I retract the punt. The game looks like it would be cool, if not for being Disney shit.

I just want to see how well that concept art translates to the Wii..
Hate to say it.. but comparable games (even when we know the Wii can put out graphics that are half decent (a la Twilight Princess/Mario Galaxy).. it's still yet to pull off something that could be viewed as 'up to date'.. I mean, hell.. even the PS2 pulled off some epic shite toward the end on their system compared to when it first released.. the Wii needs to take some notes.

So what you're saying is that the hardware is there, but the software developers, other than games made by Nintendo, the maker of the console you are criticizing, are lazy?
