"Wha' was dat? Mo brain juice?" the Troll asked.

"It's not bra-- yes, more brain juice.. damn, this hurts.." the priest replied.

The green liquid had been seeping from the two scars for some time now. He rubbed his forhead at a feeble attempt to ease the searing pain, but to no avail. To his horror, he felt what he feard most.. two glowing eyes, just as his normal ones. He began to panic, luckily inside the cloud of shadow no one could see his actions.

He began to scream, but silenced himself. The pain was so great he had to cast a silence spell on himself just to keep from screaming. He could not let the others know he was weak, in any way. After the pain had settled, he continued to rub his head, prodding the eyes that now blinked and moved as if they were taking the world in like a new born child-- like everything held a mystery to it, almost as if everything was new to it.

You have done well...

"What?!"

"If dat be a shadow spida' or sumting, you better keep away from meh." the Troll stated, obviously not seeing the pain the priest was in.

Suddenly, he spoke. Without thinking and without restraint. It's as if he knew everything to say and do.. yet he didn't. Ke knew what was happening. He knew what was going on. The moment of salvation was nearing, and this is how Thallis planned to come into the world once more.. through a dead body.

"A shadow spider? No, but I can show you one if you would like to." He smirked, but he didn't want to... he wasn't in control... HE was in control now. The shadowform grew long tendrils that began to look like long wiry legs.. that of a spider..

"Oh.. Neithan, forgive me..." he thought.

The priest went into darkness. And for once, he was afraid of it.

He woke up again. he looked to his right, the once calm Troll had now turned into a snarling creature. The priest looked around, his shadowform had faded, and his head was showing...

The shadow devoured his form once again. He was trying to hide the panic from Neithan. All of a sudden.. it came back to him. The memory of what had happened not seconds ago, though it seemed almost like a lifeage that he sat in the endless void.

Damn... salvation is coming... it begins soon.

He gave a blunt appology to Neithan, but not before letting out a dark laugh. He could not let the Troll know he had problems of his own no... no one could know that Shadowspeak had these problems, that could ruin him completely.

He had an interesting conversation with Neithan -or Witness rather- that night. Witness was pretty open to the priest about neithans "problem" and that is was nothing more than three personalties.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

The tavern was allways a strange place, Rayeth with his strange Black Door and his "Dreamrealm". Neithen, Moment and Witness and the whole story behind them. Vilmah and her contained voice inside her head. All of it was odd... and all of it fit this priest well.

The priest sighed and rubbed the two eyelids on his forhead. They never opened outside of darkness. Hopefully no one would ask to many questions...

Rayeth

Salvation shook the floorboards. His power surging from the cellar below the tavern. Rayeth slowly pulled his nemesis away from his head and looked down at the floor. "What are you doing shadowspeak?" He said in a soft voice. "I'm not afraid of you... and you know it. Show me power and I will come."

A voice shot into Rayeth's mind. "The path opens only to the sanctified." Said the voice. Rayeth thought in his head, "Have I been sanctified?". "...not yet..." replied the voice with a whisper. It was then that an apple rolled out from the cracked door leading down to the cellar. Shadow gleamed from that cracked door like rays of evil. Rayeth got up and walked over to the apple with his skullcap under his arm. "Fine then... I will play your little game." Said Rayeth as he picked up the apple and took a bite. "Swallow..." Said the voice. Rayeth chewed the apple for a moment and wiped his tongue around the inside of his mouth before swallowing the apple and heading downstairs.

In the cellar it was dark. Very dark. A horrid energy flooded the cellar. The feeling of undescribable evil surging through his nerves awakened the darker part of Rayeth. He knew that down here stood something he could speak the truth to. Something he could speak his mind to using the words of the real soul within. His mask yanked itself from his face.

In the corner two orbs of light opened widely. They stared at him. The two introduced each other as darkness incarnate. Creatures that would soon emerge in full force once they were ready to claim the souls of thousands. In the end of their meeting... Salvation stood before Rayeth with gifts. A black orb that Rayeth would use to help feed Salvation. To help bring him into this world. The two agreed that they would work together at the dawning of chaos. When their ill omens finally came to light. Rayeth bowed to Salvation and walked back up into the tavern.

Stoic was his expression as he emerged and stood there. The black orb in his hand turned to shards as he shattered it in his clutch. The seeds of the apple which teemed with dark energy found their way to the floor.

A sinister laughter began to creep out of his mouth as he walked up the stairs and into the Endless Dark.

"I feed no one power but myself..."
