Shortly after the second razing, and the burial and pyres of their enemies and allies respectively, Taknar quietly snuck away from the other Ravens. He took careful measures to ensure the that loud and boisterous magister didn't see him leave, for he would surely announce his departure to the others. Mounting his raptor, Taknar made his way from Sun Rock to Rachet, to Booty Bay and Grom'gol, and finally to Yojimba Isle where a small boat and rower were there waiting for him.

"Joo know," the long tusked Troll who manned the oars spoke as Taknar stepped aboard. He pointed to the tabard that Taknar wore; the Ebon Cross emblazoned on Crimson blood. "Yah won't need dat where ya goin', mon."

"This is my most prized possession," Taknar responded in Zandali. He needed to practice the older dialect after all. "I could not trade it for the world, nor give it up. It symbolizes all that I have grown to love in this land, and what I will come back to repair when it is ready for me."

"Whatevah, old man. Just sit in de boat. We're ready tah go."

As Taknar watched the isle shrink on the horizon, he thought back to the small envelope he had passed to Leoren before the first charge...

*the letter is written in surprisingly well spelled, if not grammatically correct, Orcish*

My beloved Cross,

It be with a heavy heart that this troll be informing you of his plans. This troll's way in life is as a teacher and guide. Unulu was right when he be stating that this troll does not save lives but only delays their death. This troll be healing many wounds in conflicts of the past, and likely be doing it in the future as well, but it is not the role this troll seeks. No longer can this troll strive to be what the Raven Cross needs at this time; a ferocious medic with the aggression to put war to end quickly. It be seeming that the old expression is true, and that you can't be teaching an old Troll new tricks.

This troll has as such decided to go back home, to his island of Zandalar, to commune with his elders and prepare for such a time that this troll be being needed again to guide those who have strayed too far morally from the path of balance that the Cross portrays. Know that this troll will always keep you in his heart and mind, and that I can always be reached by the mail that gets flown in.

The last request this troll be having for you is one of protection and guidance. Karryn, the young priestess that this troll has be leading for years now, still needs you. With the loss of her natural heart at the hands of the Lich King, she now strays ever closer back to his reach. This must not happen. This troll be emploring you, do not allow it to occur. This troll had be hoping to speak with Unulu about this before be writing this letter, but as he is dedicated to the Creeds of the Raven Cross, so too be making Karryn. A cult shaped dedication to a worthy cause will give the focus needed to resist the calls that the Lich King be making for her. She be being just a young thing, with a childhood robbed from her, and now an eternity of suffering before her. She will be needing the hope that the Creeds provide to be sustaining her and be keeping her on our side.

Do this task for this troll, my beloved Cross, and be knowing that you always be having this troll on your side. When I am most needed, be resting assured, this troll will return to you in power and glory.

~The Chakari Priest

Leoren

It was dawn by the time Leoren had even remembered the letter.

As he read its contents, he could not help but already miss that distinctive cackle that had been so easily taken for granted. It was sombre enough with recent events, let alone parting with one whose expressions of joy continued on infectiously despite whatever stormy weather loomed over head. Wherever he found himself, his compassion and wisdom would be sorely missed.

A single strike hammers in the nail, the letter posted up for all the Cross to read.

There was only one appropriate expression left to honor the dear Troll.

A smile.

"We'll be here waiting, you old fool."
