Fordragon Imports Disbanding

I have made the decision to disband Fordragon Imports. Cartain matters have reached the point where it is no longer enjoyable on the whole for me to run the guild. I do not feel comfortable promoting any of its current members to Guild Master to replace me, and nothing will change my mind on that score. During our nearly seven months of operation -- in fact, up until the last three weeks or so -- it was an extremely rewarding guild to run. We did things in World PvP that no one on this server has ever even thought of, had a lot of fun, and were pretty much the best guild on the server.

Just sayin'.

The issue is not that "the guild is falling apart," which it is not true in any way. Or that "we don't do the same stuff we used to," which IS true but something I see as part of the natural progression of the guild. It is exactly what I said: the parts of guild management that are stressful and aggravating to me have come to dominate my entire experience in the game.

So sometime soon Fordragon Imports members will find themselves guildless, and I will spend much of my time from here on out leveling a troll shaman. To my people: thank you for the best time I've spent in any game, and good luck in whatever guild you may join (or form yourself!) next. You're a Fordragon Imports member. You will improve any guild you join. Be selective about which one you choose, and don't settle for a crummy organization just because they're one of a dozen who call themselves "RP-PvP."

This is sudden, unexpected and very, very disappointing.
Having said that I both respect and understand Irontoe's decision.

I will mostly likley transfer my Horde characters that I used to use as my mains over to TWN and join an as yet undecided Horde guild - or make my own.

Yeah, RC would not interfere if Irontoe got busted by his own faction. They would /lol and go about their business because that's ANOTHER enemy that just got taken down by their other potential enemies, and they're totally okay with letting them screw each other.

I must say, when I started playing on TN one of the first things I remember being truly awesome was FDI. Being a part of the excitement was always something to look forward to when it came to finally hitting 80. And then... well then everything else happened and the Dusk Watch started, but I always loved fighting along side you are yours, Irontoe. Quite a bit of awe attached to the idea. ^^

Things might be a little...quiet (at the moment) and while I can't say something silly, and pompous like "the Dusk Watch will fill the void", I'm pretty sure we'll be sticking our necks out whenever possible. So, don't think that just because Irontoe isn't running things, that there won't be people around (who aren't the Fabled Order =P) to kick your Horde butts outta various Alliance territories. *yeah!* If anything, it's even more important now (RP wise as well as game wise) to get our butts in gear.

Thanks for all the fun, the pride, and the excitement. In a big way, FDI's part of the community helped me get a good idea and feel for the Watch, and the times we did get to hang about were always fun...

...and...if Raven Cross thinks they can just bust in and take Irontoe, they've got another thing coming. =P Some Alliance people would stick up for him. *cough*

I like this idea of 'agents unknown' though...hmm. If anything actually plays out around this, lemme know would ya?

Aww.. Irontoe! FDI was one of the most amazing guilds on TN! Despite not working alongside them much, they were my favourite (Besides the one I'm in). Hell, I even considered leaving where I am now for FDI at one point. You guys are extremely influential to RP'ers, and PvP'ers alike! You will definitely be missed!

This. I actually have to agree. Fordragon was the main guild in the Alliance that really ever bought the fight besides Fabled Order - and even Fabled Order are usually busy elsewhere. Seeing them go will be disappointing, as it will mean the main world RP-PvP focussed guild on the Alliance side will be gone, too.

Hopefully a guild can step up to fill the gap.

I've always been a big believer in doing what makes you happy. If it was indeed a chore, and I believe it was, and that was no longer fun for Irontoe, then I fully support it.

However, if this all came about just to switch sides, because the other side has better world PvPers, then that is just plain disappointing. My heart wants to say that this isnt so, but the timing of the whole matter leaves me disturbed.

That said, World PvP and FDI was one of the last things keeping me interested in this game. As I've played Phim for well over 3 years on this server, from hard-core raiding with voltron, to an increased focus in arena and World PvP as of late, I simply have nothing left in this game to keep me interested.

Combined with the 3.2 changes, Im not sure that this game holds any further interest for me.

To all of you in Raven Cross, The Grim and the like: the "friendly" competition has been great, and the fact that we had other World PvPers on the Horde side really made the last 3-6 months truly interesting and competitive. It has been an aspect of the game that I have enjoyed above all others...

The character I'm leveling now is Wechsler. Add me to your friends list -- my highest level Horde is level 15, and I'm no longer leveling her. Just wasn't worth it with no money and no heirloom gear.

My disbanding the guild had absolutely nothing to do with the ability to reroll Horde. The "other side" has good world PvPers, but there are only like... 10 of them? I wouldn't throw out something I had worked to build and maintain for seven months just to make another character. My decision to roll a Horde character was a result of disbanding the guild, not the other way around.

Having moved and been away for the past week (close to).. and hearing this first from our own FDI forums and coming to see the response on TNG.

Frownies all around. Not sure why or what happened but, it was definitely fun while it lasted.. probably the most fun I've had playing WoW in the off and on I did it. I think the server is partly responsible as it has a lot of groovy people :)
