So while I've been gone, new things have come in...how does everyone like the new World PVP and the cross-server BGs?

Hate it hate it hate it.
world PvP is to broad and you never get into a real fight, and the cross server BGs are allright, EXCEPT AV.

Love the lack of wait times, hate the resultant lack of PvP in Alterac Valley. It's not unusual to only get a dozen HK's in a single name, now. Not killing blows, HK's.

I am much more concerned, however, over the honor inflation due rank purposes, as I said months before this.
As a gunner for rank, this seems to be incredibly deficient for the purpose..
I had General/Warlord in sight, easy day.
Dunno if I could do it anymore.

Well, I've heard varying things about the expansion's PvP. At first, it was my understanding that rank will more or less be obsolete. More lately, I heard that rank will still be a factor. In any case, the way things are being revamped, hopefully they'll address this in some way.
Something disheartening involves a Blue response, I believe Drysc, commenting that the developers don't see the inflation as a problem. This was perhaps a week ago.

World PvP has never been that good, imo. But these cross realm bg's are awesome. Made a buncha friends on Maelstrom in a 1hr wsg pug. if you're just gonna sit and do nothing but pvp then it kinda sucks, but i chat with the alliance the entire time bout everything. its awesome. Alterac is kinda lame and quick, but imo better then the 4 hour nothing accomplished retard fests it used to be. Now the alliance DOES something, AV after the week they removed landmines. Nothing could save that. Aside from that, no complaints or comments really. Warlock pets make sounds when summoned. Its pretty...cool?

If you can have Warlord the week of the expansion, you'll be warlord forever.
The ranks are being eliminated in TBC, replaced by an arena point system. The ranks will only stay for aestetic purposes. So get a rank you like, because your stuck with it.

Actually did you win Sanrin?
Reason I ask is that if Alliance seemed to have a tough time of it before in BG's I am beginning to believe it is many times more so now.
Why? Well, my theory is that unless Alliance queues with a dedicated preset group, the pugs are on average going to be less experienced than the Horde counterparts. Why? because most folk who play this game play Alliance first then switch to Horde afterwards. Not all, but most. Also the Horde tends to attract the more fanatical PvPers.
Result? Most BG with pugs will be more Horde favored, due to the law of averages..
So far the AB games I have been in since the new xserver.. Alliance won with a ratio of 1:10
Not good. Im wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same phenomenon, or have I just been unlucky with pugs?
Hmm.. maybe this deserves a poll...

The only time ive lost a bg with the Alliance is when we've fought a preformed horde group. And even then we've put up an amazing fight against some preformed...and my theory is as follows:
Most people organize themselves because they fear hitting those ten man AQ40 equipped horde. The only people that queue solo are generally like me...so as wierd as it sounds i get a 10 man group of individuals with me kinda attitude. Our group composition may be off, but we work together well enough and have a blast doing it. Honestly I think you just have shitty luck, but it also does depend on the battleground. I've won almost every AV and Warsong, but Basin i get routinely stomped in. Its a lot harder to get 15 people who arent retarded then 10...or 40 for that matter. O.o'

I need Warlord for RP Purposes!Hehe, I don't know how to say much more than tough luck. Right now, the Warlords are people who AFK Bot AV. Their honor is in the hundreds of thousands weekly.
Skyze - While that's correct, I believe I read that it's still possible to gain higher ranks in BC.

Right now, the Warlords are people who AFK Bot AV, or spend all day every day group-queueing Warsong. Their honor is in the millions weekly.
Sadly, this is a bit more spot-on accurate.

Only time will tell!
It seems I'm sort of Frozen at Legionnaire right now.
The moment I will start, we'll see how honor and ranking go.

Well, here's to hoping that I've used up all my shitty luck and the good stuff is all thats left in the barrel!
On the bright side, I've topped the charts the last 7 times in AB for registered kills. Last 2 times I actually was highest overall, even though the Horde won the whole shebang.
I think SW:Pain has something to do with it. I DoT, they run, someone else whittles them down, they run again, then die when my DoT ticks away that final health. I get the kill. At least thats what I think is happening. I'm still getting confortable with being a battle priest.

That is exactly what is happening. My new tatic whiist grinding out my AV rep is the following on defense:
1) Soul Link the felhunter
2) Get into range
3) Send fel onto healing/magic classes
4) Slam my tab button and my CoA/corruption hotkeys.
5) Repeat step 2 until dead
9 times out of 10, when people see that CoA/corruption hit them, they run.
Of course, I also am in the top 5 with deaths, but who cares. Suicide Warlock FTW.

I know how ya feel Nouri...When I play a priest in the BG's, even though I try to heal and fear more than anything, I almost always seem to get in the top 5 on killing blows. I'd be willing to bet that you are correct and it is SW:P.
Yay for priests!!!!

I tell everyone, if ya have ventrillo and ever wanna pvp ill give ya the info and we'll start up a group! Even if its just for fun, pvp should be relaxing not stressful.

Thats what it's turned into for people who look to PvP for gear. It becomes stressful when it actually becomes work.
Soon I'll have rank ten and I will be satisfied!
Then the only PvP i'll do is World PvP.

All I know is AV wait times are under 5 seconds, every single time I have lined up.

In all honestly, I think THAT is worth the shorter, less involved AV matches.
