OOC:
With many thanks to partners in crime Daala and Jorah, the Sanguinary will be open for business this week! The Sanguinary is a cross-faction bounty hunting organization which will facilitate the placing of bounties on character's heads, including a method of payment and tracking sucessful kills. The Sanguinary is primarily a vehicle for ROLE PLAY on our server - the dealings of the group are 100% in character - all disputes will be resolved between CHARACTERS, not between players.
The OOC FAQ of the Sanguinary. If you are interested in taking part, please post OOC here, and we'll keep you up to date as we get close to launch!
-------------------------
What is the Sanguinary?
The Sanguinary is a cross-faction bounty hunting organization. It allows any character from Twisting Nether to place a bounty of gold on the head of another character. These bounties can then be pursued by other characters, from either faction.
The Sanguinary is for mature, advanced WoW players and roleplayers only. In game, there is a great deal of intrigue, challenge, backstabbing, and betrayal. Out of character, everyone is expected to be a mature, reasonable, and generally nice person. While in game strife is expected, out of game drama will not be tolerated. If you do not feel that you would fit in well with this community, turn back now.
Is the Sanguinary IC or OOC in game? How about on the message boards?
The Sanguinary is 99.9% IC. The only time OOC conversation is tolerated is when it involves a game mechanic that cannot be discussed in character. Posts on the message board are IC only, unless there is no other way to state the concept. The moderators can and will delete and edit posts that contain OOC information or rants.
Is the Sanguinary a guild?
No. The Sanguinary is a group. Its members are from many different guilds, and from both factions. How your character explains his/her actions as a Slayer to the members of your guild are up to you to decide.
How do I join the Sanguinary?
You join by posting your intentions in the Hall of Blood (ooc, post in the Sanguinary forum on Twisting Nether Gazette). There are four ways to participate in the Sanguinary:
(1) Blood Slayer – these are the Bounty Hunters. All Blood Slayers also agree to be Blood Marks. Sorry, if you want to kill, you gotta risk being killed too!
(2) Blood Mark – these are potential victims who have agreed to “play fair” according to the Code. Since same-faction PvP has to be consensual, Blood Marks will always consent to a duel when approached by a Slayer who is after the bounty on their head. They will also honesty report if they have been killed by a Slayer.
(3) Blood Vengent – the person who takes out a contract on another. All Blood Vengents also agree to be Blood Marks. Sorry, you want to put money on someone else’s head? You are fair game for revenge.
(4) Virgin Blood – while not necessarily a virgin in the traditional sense, a Virgin Blood is someone who has not heard of Sanguinary but has a bounty placed on their head. The Blood Masters will not assist in resolving any dispute with an Virgin Blood (i.e. – refusing to admit they were killed, refusing to duel).
Additionally, there are two Blood Masters, one Alliance and one Horde, who are the final say regarding Sanguinary matters for their faction. That is, with the exception of the Blood Queen, who rules Sanguinary with an iron skillet.
Are you keeping score?
Absolutely! The Sanguinary functions like a WoW faction. The more gold you accumulate from kills, the higher your rank. The Blood Masters will update the leaderboard frequently so the Slayers can brag to each other. As you rank up, you will gain access to more interesting bounties, and potentially be able to earn a spot on the Sanguinary leadership itself.
So who runs this thing? Who do we go to with OOC questions?
OOC, the Sanguinary is being run by Vuudu, Daala, and Jorah, all of whom can be contacted here on TNG via private mail. Please note that they are running Sanguinary in an OOC sense only. Unless your character has reason to know who the leaders are in-game, your character does not know anything about who truly wields the power.
Nearly everything in the Sanguinary is up for grabs IC. As you learn more about the organization, you may learn who runs it, how it is organized, and decide to try and pursue power in it yourself. Keep in mind that IC is always considered the first and best way to resolve an issue. Taking it to one of us OOC should be a last resort.
