Used to run this Dorf with Sgian Dubh. I remember Counting Coup, etc. Those were good days. When the guild broke up I shelved him and rolled an Orc Hunter on a PvP server where a good friend was. Unfortunately, she has left and I find myself with no reason to stay there.

My Orc is a relatively new 60. I’m new to end game raiding, but have some MC experience through and downing Rag on my third run. Have three pieces of GS and the bulk of my ensemble is Black Dragonscale. Up for my sinew and leaf so my current weapon is the AV reward. I’m up to Test of Skulls for my Ony chain. Through fairly casual PvP I’ve hit rank 6.

I enjoyed my days on Twisting and would consider transferring my new Hunter here if I could find a home. I haven’t been following the events on Twisting and was wondering if I could bother any of you for comments or suggestions.

*edit* for minor correction :)

If you love this server as a whole, go ahead and transfer here. ^.^ Beware of the RP fanatics though, make sure you RP JUST a little.

Pay attention, Zust. Sgian Dubh was an RP guild, a baby sister of the Regiment.

I remember seeing that guild around earlier in the servers history. Always sort of wondered what happened to them and alot of other guilds that just sort of "vanished".

Thanks for getting my back Garbhan, but fair question from Zus. While I don't consider myself a heavy RP'r I do participate in events and abide by IC in most aspects of play.

Maybe for some an historical shot or two.

As far as I know the first big organized battle (http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f85/Gnochance/WoWScrnShot_022506_215201.jpg) (or was it the second?) outside of TM. The other being right on the border of the Badlands. I also particpated in an early seige of Hammerfall. That was one where we marched over in very Napoleanic style. No screenies though.

IFR wedding (http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f85/Gnochance/WoWScrnShot_021306_2155591024x768.jpg) between was it Ruma and Maldric (sp?).

The guild for lack of better reasons broke up because Borislav and Wyldflower had to move on. Isixa and a few others tried to keep it running, but losing our two GL's was more than the guild could take. IFR made some good hearted ovetures, but my interest in Xesc and the Alliance was gone. Sometimes you have to move on.

I went and rolled Horde on another server and have realized I should have gone Horde in the first place, because Nightelves are good eatin'.

Well, what exactly are you looking for? I'm guessing just community at the moment, yah?

Would love to have you here, just not sure what you're looking for... if it's solid endgame, you might want to look elsewhere, because we only have a few good endgame guilds. If it's RP/pvp/dabbling in endgame... maybe TN'll work out for ya again. Just want you to make the right choice before forking over 25 bucks.

Thanks for all the posts. I guess I'm looking for balance. I want end game, because for the effort the gear is best. Naturally, I want to PvP and Community is important, too. Mix in some RP and I'm all set.

What is the status of end game raiding? Are the only Guilds there non-RP?

If you are looking for endgame, I think Citadel, Forgotten Legion, and maybe The Grim are the only RP guilds currently raiding 40man stuff.

There are a couple of associations helping smaller guilds get some raids in also... TNRaiders and Thega.

Forgotten Legion is an RP guild?

Heh, could have fooled me.

Either way, those are the RP guilds raiding, and the non-RP guilds raiding are...

Fates Hand, Echelon, NME, Invictus, and I'm sure another guild or two that I don't really know about.

Echelon sucks, majorly. NME and Fates Hand both have some awesome people. Invictus has a few great people, most of them I don't know though.

Invictus was one of the best guilds I ever joined. Shame I left them.

Eh, since Odon left... Echelon kinda shut their mouth.. or at least it seems that way.

The Grim may be what you're looking for, Xesc. First and foremost, RP...End game (MC, ZG, AQ20), battlegrounds, and world pvp is all IC.

I thought your idea of counting coup against The Grim was pretty cool, and I had a few battles with naked dwarves in Thunder Bluff in my younger days.

Take a look at our site and contact one of the officers if you're interested.

Do your research before you make a decision, since you have many different flavors to choose from on the Horde.

Speaking on just the concept of guilds that do end game.

- Do you want to *just* do end game?
- Do you want to do end game, with roleplay on the side?
- Do you want to do end game, while roleplaying?
- Do you want guild only runs, or guild alliance runs?

Though, if you are just looking at the community, you have even more choices. There are numerous 'smaller' guilds that have great people and great stories.

Also, many of these 'smaller' guilds are associated with the two 'alliances' that bring together individuals and guilds. THEGA <THe Horde End Game Association> and TNR <Twisting Nether Raiders>

THEGA is made up of guilds and a small select number of individuals that share a LFG channel. It's OOC, but is made up of roleplaying guilds only. It's meant to be a replacement for the normal LFG channel - so you know you are going to find quality people who, if they fuck up (ala ninja/non-rp unless otherwise stated beforehand,) can be punished by their guild for bad public face. Currently, Regnanetah and Leyujin man up Molten Core (Saturday), ZG ( Even Monday), and AQ ( Odd Monday) for THEGA members.

TNR, they will have to sell themselves. They do ZG, AQ, and MC. You can talk to Fhenrir or Nadea for more details, or Morrac. Wish I could say more, but... sell yourselves!

If you're looking for bad-ass full-time RP in the name of JUSTICE, Sanctuary is always open. We've got a few 60s, and even more 50-60's who are about to start doing end game stuff.

All in the name of justice, of course.

TNRaiders.

I'm sure there is an easier address, in fact I know there is one, but that's the direct link.

Go there and check it out.

Though I warn you, the raids we run are OOC, unlike The Grim/THEGA runs. But we're a fun group! XD

All very interesting and makes my decision both easier and harder.

For those that asked I am looking for a balance of end game, community and RP. The end game gear cannot be overlooked. Community is what made Sgian Dubh so captivating. The RP was a little trying on my fellow guildies, who were mostly heavy RPrs since I couldn't contiuously type in a Dwarven brogue, let alone read half of what they typed. LoL! But I played IC and was involved in most all of the events in Sgian Dubh and IFR during my tenure.

As a Dorf it was easy to hate Horde and I had the blood of many on my Polearm. Even so I had a lot of respect for guilds like The Grim. I admired how they took the fight to the Alliance and their single-mindedness of ridding the landscape of them. Now as an Orc of 60 seasons I look forward to picking me teeth with fractured Nelf thigh bone.

...and Abric I remember you and Syreena well. I even mentioned it in these forums many months ago about the ganking Xesc received from one of your Grim team forrays into Feathermoon.

Last I have a few things to straighten out between guild and my friend. The results could affect my transfering or not. Will update as it unfolds. Should be obvious in a week and to start the transfer a max of 2 weeks.
