Malethia sighed, running her hand along a banister that would almost certainly be covered in a layer of dust if not for the efforts of the magical servitors that kept the manor clean. There had been such high hopes for this wing of the estate, but like so many of her plans it had fallen well short of her desires. An elven paladin order dedicated to the ideals of the Light? There had been such anger, such a sense of betrayal, amongst her race that the numbers of followers was incredibly small, and most of those feared to reveal themselves.

She couldn't blame them of course. She had once been the same way; there were days she was still unsure how she had reached this point in her life. Luck, most likely - though perhaps a blessing or two along the way hadn't hurt.

Light footsteps in the hall behind her told Malethia she was no longer alone in her thoughts, but she had no need to turn around to know who it was. The soul fragment she had given Roslynn meant she could track her wife no matter where she was. She sighed happily as arms wrapped softly around her.

"I was trying to figure out why you were on the other side of the house. What are you up to, walking around an empty room like this?"

"Just thinking to myself...I'm wondering what I planned to accomplish with all of this. Was I hoping to rival the influence of the Order of Blood? Or maybe I just wanted to show them I wasn't some weak-minded love-addled fool after my banishments." She took Roslynn's hand, squeezing it in her own. "Nobody seems interested in my teachings though."

"Well...couldn't you teach me?"

Malethia unwrapped herself from the encircling arms to spin and look into Roslynn's eyes. "What, you mean I should teach you how to be a paladin?"

"Yeah! I mean, why not? Unless there's something that would keep me from being able to do it. That Saphiara woman is a paladin and a Farstrider, so why can't I do it too?"

Malethia turned back to the empty training room and drummed her fingers on the railing. "I don't know. You don't follow the Light like I do. However, you essentially believe in and practice its teachings in your own way. I suppose it all just depends on the nature of it all, if it is in fact more religious like the humans believe or just an ideal like I've been saying all along..." She glanced back, and shrugged her defeat in the face of her wife's pleading eyes. "...either way, it doesn't hurt to at least try.."

Roslynn squealed and hugged Malethia by the neck as she bounced excitedly.
