Vil,
Any plans for a Star Wars: The Old Republic (http://swtor.com) forum?

I think it might be safer to make just an "Other MMORPG's" forum until it becomes clear whether or not the game is going t obe good or popular enough to REALLY keep peoples attention and desire to post in a specific forum. The WAR and AoC forums have been pretty much dead for a long time.

Hum. Yeah, I suppose.
Though I have a strong feeling that this one might stick. It's a pretty big deal, yaknow.

It's Bioware, so I have massively high hopes for it. But it's also Bioware's first romp into the MMO sector. Not their first on RPG's, but still.
But WAR was meant to be a Warcraft killer. And look how quickly people jumped ship from it.

Not to mention the game has it's own massive forums and is still about two years away.
I'm watching this one like a hawk. I have high hopes this will be the game I've always wanted. However, at this point it really only merits it's own thread. If it's still shaping up as awesome as I think it will, I'll be asking Vil to make us a forum for it around this time next year.

Yep yep, good to hear. Would be cool to connect with old TN friends when it finally does launch.
Thanks Mal.

Ya know with the way the social groups have threaded messages and such now, you could make one for people watching this game until an actual forum seems warranted. :)

People were the ones to hype it like that. The developers steadfastly said that wasn't their goal.
MMOs truly only kill themselves, not their competition. The only thing to destroy WoW will be WoW.
I would leave WoW in a heartbeat if Bioware made SW:TOR an RP friendly game.
I have HUGE hopes for it... and being more of a Star Wars fan... I have high expectations as well.

I have high hopes too... Because I love Bioware. Baldur's Gate 2 is STILL my reigning favorite PC RPG.

I'm trying to tweak my computer out so it'll actually handle nicer games...like Starcraft 2 n.n
If it'll run on my computer, bet your sweet ass I'll be logging into it, vibrant blue-white lightsaber and all.

I don't really think that there's enough information out about the game to have much discussion.
"So, how about that Old Republic MMO?"
"Yeah, sounds pretty cool. It's like the KOTOR games, except an MMO and even bigger."
"Yep. They just released a new gameplay video."
That's about what discussions would be limited to. Eventually? Sure, but not nearly enough stuff out about it to warrant an entire forum IMO.

Agreed, one need only look at the official forums to see this. Everyone just ends up arguing about Mandalorians and release dates
I did mean eventually, and too was curious in a cursory gauging of interest in the game from TNers.
I'm with Lia, Zya and Lel on this though for sure. If all goes well, I imagine this will be my MMO Shangri-La.
EDIT:
Done, Lia:

Yup, social groups is a great option. I generally don't create a new section until about a month before something new comes out, or if threads about the subject are poping up so frequently I do it to keep people from throwing other topics offtopic.
