Mostly by blood elves women (I shit ye not.), their men need a little mana to get it up I suppose, so it's understandable, although it was much more likely they were just repressed furries.

Despite popular believe that Archers are built like skinny, girly men (Elves), the best archers were the ones that could pull their bows back farther, due to their strength and broader shoulders.

That being said, humans make better archers than elves. The average human male possessing superior strength to that of a male elf, he would be able to pull the bowstring back farther, causing the arrow to fly faster and hit harder.

Most modern archers tend to pull just to the corner of their lip... but I persionaly have a slightly odd habit of noching my arrows back further. Give me a "boys" draw length and I have to make sure my arrows are long enough. o.o

Anyone with enough brains to like some distance from the mayhem, but still actualy cause physical damage, is an archer.
