As far as I'm aware, that's all anyone knows. It's just highly anticipated.

It's supposed to be in the first major content patch. From Ghostcrawler (blue poster) on the official forums:

To switch between specs in a city will be trivial.
While possible to switch between specs outside of a city, it will not be nearly as trivial.

Last I heard it may have been pushed back a bit as they were still working out how to do it with glyphs.

EDIT: I fail at reading comprehension.

This. They want to implement it so when you switch specs, you'll have saved action bars and glyph setups.

All I hope is that its more convenient and less expansive to switch between specs. I hate the 50g talent spec retraining and wouldn't think much of this dual spec system if all its giving me is a option to switch my spec on the fly for the same or more gold when I want to go PvPing or raiding. If its just going to be like that I see no difference then just walking up to your trainer and going "Yes I wish to unlearn my talents"

I have to completely agree with this ... nothing more to say ....

That's the reason they're doing it Roth. To their credit, they've at least realized that they've separated the PvE and PvP aspects of the game and they're going to try to allow you to have two saved specs that you can switch between for little or no money.

I understand, my point only being off of hearing something about blizzard implying some type of penalty to the dual spec system. In the form of some type of cost.

I am not sure if they tossed that out the window or the cost is going to be rather cheap hopefully. It does seem like a very nice mechanic in general though. Anyone familiar with Guild Wars will know how it might work, cause that game as had it out for quite sometime (and can save more specs then just dual). Which was a really nice feature for that game when I switched my Ritualist from a minion bomber to a healer/protector for certain roles needed to be filled.

Okay...

Dual specs?

As in I can have a prot spec and switch to it without having to respec? And then switch to my other spec?

Umm.... Awesome?

I may be missing something here, but from what I can make of GC's post and what I've heard, it goes something like this:
-Switch between your dual specs in a city (at an NPC), you get it for free/cheap
-Switch between your dual specs not in a city (during a raid or something), suffer a penalty... either monetarily (something similar to durability), or through a timed debuff (to prevent you from switching between DPS for trash and tanking for bosses, or from switching from PVE while grinding/questing/etc. to PVP when your little mate gets aroused by the sight of a red name.)
-Respec one of your two specs, pay the normal respec price

I didn't think about your second point Rasta that shines some new light on it. As much as I hate the penalties of spec switching already I would find it to lax if players were just capable of switching on the fly like that. I guess its the one time where I actually encourage a penalty and fine no problem with having to hit a city before I go switching my spec.

Hm. So effectively, when I want to hit a city raid - *everyone* becomes a PvPer... and they are all blue-flagged.

D'oh!
