Ah yes, so I was in the AV a few weeks ago and I notice some monkey business going on in the South Bunker. So I ambled over to have a look-see, and I see Abric jump out the back window. I peek down on him and he’s bandaging or something. I’m down a few myself from some Shamy’s lighting thingy, but what the hay! I jump down and start hacking. He’s 60 with his fancy equipment and all, I’m 58 with typical equipment for a 58 I guess. I don’t expect to win, after all, I’m maybe an average PvP’er. We hack happily away at each other for a bit, and I see my Execute button light up, I didn’t have enough rage do kill him, but heck, damage is damage. So I hit it and nothing happens! WTF! What’s that stuck on my little arrow. S**T! It’s my Execute button, and it’s come off! Meanwhile I’m running in circles, only doing damage with my auto-hit, I try desperately to put it back in that one empty slot it came from, but instead I dropped it onto the Heroic Strike and now it’s stuck to my little arrow. I die.

I just busted out laughing. Keep-buttons-locked! Lesson learned I guess!

I know how you feel I did that a couple a times and it resulted in the same manner. I got in the habit of checking almost all the time just in case. Lock Lock

Ahhh if I only had a copper piece for each time I threw my flare button at a rogue, rather than a flare!

I feel your pain!

I've always kept my action bars locked, for that particular reason.

After coming back from playing Oblivion for a while, I got into the bad habit of pressing down "Shift" to run (wasn't even thinking, of course, as this doesn't really work in WoW). Well, apparently, whenever you press "Shift" and click an action button, no matter if your action bars are locked or not, you remove the button. Needless to say, this got annoying, and I had no idea it had to do with pressing down "Shift" until two battlegrounds later.

yeah..I think everytime they patch the game a lot of the interface settings go back to default...not all of them..but enough (like whether buttons are sticky or not)) to be annoying.

Yeah, I keep my buttons locked because of that. Occassionally I'd find myself trying to backstab somebody... and my backstab would be gone! Or, it'd be where my vanish was... blah.

I'm relieved to know I'm not the only one who clicks. Everyone I know just seems to have a massive amount of hotkeys and just type like crazy while fighting. I've never really found much fun in that; far too much memorisation for me.

Only hotkey I use is Will of the Forsaken. Everything else is rapid fire clicking.

One time, I used Flexbar to confgure my screen to look just like my keyboard. WASD for movement, and I mapped all my shots, stings, and melee attacks to the keys around those four. Every skill I could possibly need was an easy keypress away, and I could see on screen how they were mapped if I forgot.

Within 20 minutes my hand was so badly cramped that I went back to clicking on butons.

I revamped my UI a while ago, not only does it look badass, it's very functional. My hand is hardly ever on the mouse anymore, I'm spamming random Hotkeys scattered across my keyboard, and it works out just fine.

Yeah, I found the lock bar hotkey a couple months ago (yes, it took me a while to figure it out :P) and I have now gotten into the habit of hammering the button. So, if ever I get into a fight without my bars locked I get owned horribly.

I am happy to hear I'm not the only one who does this. It's quite embarrassing as a healer to drag-and-drop your Flash Heal onto a dying person.

As a shadow priest, all my offensive abilities are on the hotkey bar... along with a couple spots for instance- or raid-specific abilities, like rank 1 Shadow Word: Pain for raids and Shackle Undead for Scholo/Strat. Everything else I click. And drop, sometimes.

I'm the same way, i just don't raid much anymore and barely do any PvE outside of farming. I need to work on that... I got my guild leader to look into THEGA (again, thanks to ragne). Being shadowspecced and doing constant pvP, I dumped all my healing gear except my trinket.
