So apparently Wintergrasp is bugged on every single server and Alliance is getting 3 free marks and winning honor just for showing up. I played an excellent game today, and we completely dominated, however the...thing...was uncappable. How do you think Blizz will fix this? If they wait to patch till Tuesday, it will create a tremendous fear imbalance in a short time. If they take away marks, they will have some irate customers. Thoguhts?

My thought is that once again I wish I was playing a High Elf on Alliance. >.>

Taking away marks is not an option because of the possibility of Alliance having earned them. That said, hotfixing it to not give rewards until the bug can be fixed does seem like a fair solution in my mind.

Horde not being able to click the orb is pretty lame. :(

...I only got one mark when we'd lose <.<

I'm far more infuriated by the raid boss access in this circumstance than the marks.

As it stands, I find it nearly insulting that the only way to obtain PvP gear currently is via PvE. The Gladiator gear that exists from this simple encounter is obtainable before the season even starts. That fact is retarded at best, but now only the Alliance have access to it too? I sure do love having dirt kicked in my face after being pushed down.

Though I won't be surprised, I'll be incredibly upset if blizzard doesn't at least take away the raid encounter until a fix can be implemented. It's bad enough that we're still beta testing the damn zone (female tauren STILL can't get through the portal entrance to Wintergrasp, a bug that's been known about since months before beta ended), but having an entire faction defaulted to auto-losing and missing out on all the rewards without a hotfix is irritating.

No mistake is greater than your ability to fix it.

The mistake was letting the battles continue after they were broken.

They should be closing the battle down until it is fixed. I haven't tried after yesterday's patch.

An apology to all Horde members who participated would be ideal. As well, they should reimburse all Horde members that participated with marks as if they had won every battle, putting Horde and Alliance on an even field again.

Lets see what they decide to do.

by "your", do you mean the horde, or Blizz? Because Alliance gets honor and marks whether or not we show up.

But Blizz must have hotfixed it last night in the rolling restarts. Thank you!

Yus but can female tauren get through the portal? This makes me very sad :( (Oh, what level does it start at? >_>)

By "your" I mean blizzard. The line is a quote.

I believe any level can enter. I know a level 37 that participated a few times.

I have to agree with the unfairness about allowing the Hateful/Deadly Gladiator gear being available before Season 5 starts. For those of us who can't access those raids yet it, especially because of this apparently Alliance-favoring bug, I feel that those who did get their hands on Deadly Gladiator gear up to this point, regardless of it being Horde or Alliance, should have the gear removed and be given a PvE equivalent instead, or perhaps a Gold/Honor compensation. The point of Season 5 was to provide a fresh start for everyone; S5 gear therefore shouldn't be available yet, period. And even after Season 5 starts, the gear you obtain off of raid bosses should be PvE oriented, not PvP. I know plenty of raiders on this server who only do PvE; they don't like PvP in the slightest, and earning a piece of PvP gear off of a raid boss would likely infuriate those of us who kill raid bosses for PvE gear.

If Blizzard wants to make it so you can earn PvP gear off of PvE, (which isn't a bad idea at all, just the execution of the idea right now is absolutely horrible) it should be done through badges. It worked fine with things like Dory's Embrace in the Burning Crusade, and I don't see why it wouldn't do well in Wrath.

Also, if someone wants to float this onto the official Blizzard forums, I'd appreciate it, I don't have an account there.

It appears to be fixed, I was in a defending battle today as horde. The Orb may be clickable again. Looking forward to some fun battles provided it's not bugged the other way around >.>

Its a boss you earn teh right to fight from PVPing. If you're raiding it and complaining about getting PVP gear....well...theres the door over there. LOLSORRY GO DO NAXX OR SOMETHING KAY?

I usually don't agree with Okhu on anything but... yeah. What he said right above me.

It's a raid based on winning a PVP battle. Not to mention, I disagree completely on how badges worked with raids in BC. All that does is create the raid into a farm house, which is irritating enough as it is. If your a PVEr who is looking to progress, you wont spend hours farming "pvp" badges. Sorry, but I like this alternative way better.

ALSO, there -ARE- craftables giving resilience so why cant there be epics that do as well? There's going to be PVP gear before season 5 in more than one area, might as well get used to it.

Someone put PVP gear in my pre-S5 game? It's more likely than you think.

Seriously, the demand and expectation that arena gear would be the pinnacle of PVP is neglecting a large segment of the players who STILL don't have tons of time a week, can't find partners, and/or just don't fit in with the fighting style of arenas (which, whether you like it or not, still doesn't indicate REAL ULTIMATE WOW FIGHTING POWER.) You want to grind Wintergrasp forever? Having fun? Really good at it? Just like sitting in cannon slaughtering everyone? Why should you be forced to leave for a stupid arena game just to get your gear? Treating BGers as second class citizens will hopefully come to an end, and it's about time.

I still want the ability to load Q into a catapult and launch a flying furball at the enemy.

That is when the ultimate showdown of ultimate destiny begins.

What irritates most people isn't the fact that it's available from the raid, but that the raid is currently the ONLY place you can obtain epic PvP gear. You can't purchase it for honor, and you sure as hell can't get it from fighting in skirmishes. If the arena season were released this Tuesday and it became the only place to obtain PvE gear, raiders would be bitching just as much.

That said, the people complaining that it's available via PvE as an alternative outlet to getting the gear have very little ground to work their argument from. I think it will be a fantastic addition to battlegrounds and arenas for getting a PvP sets...once BGs and arenas actually become a way to obtain them.

Personally, I think arenas ruined pvp.

Wintergrasp is much more interesting. It reminds me of the keep sieges in Warhammer Online, which were quite frankly the most epic PVP (RVR) experiences I've ever had. Just a shame that RP over there is hard to find, and that Archmages are healbots.

I'd love to see the best gear available through some other avenue than arenas, which I hate. I don't know how I feel about it being available through a pve raid, but that it's available through something BESIDE the arenas is good.

I wouldn't be too disappointed if they moved arenas to the tournament realms and allowed people to copy their characters over and earn arena gear over there. I never understood the theory behind "you being good at small scale battles > you being good at all out war". Apparently taking your group of 5 and beating on another group of 5 makes you more 'elite' than taking that group of 5 and kicking the asses of 20 people by using things like strategy and being able to adapt to what's going on around you.

It's utter BS, really... considering there's no such thing as REAL espionage in the game where being 'elite' in small scale combat would actually serve a purpose. No way to be a WoW version of Jack Bauer or James Bond.

As for PvP gear from a PvE encounter... um... PvP epics were obtainable from PvE in Burning Crusade. There weren't very many, but if they did drop, they were on par with season 3 items of the same slot if not season 4. The pvp healing ring from SSC off of Morogrim was one such item.

So, really... what's the problem? Blizzard has all ready toyed with the idea and no one seemed to have an issue with it then. All they did was take it a step further and make a raid boss that has nothing but PvP gear drop from him.

If it's the fact that it's bugged and horde can't have a chance to get it, then yeah... Blizzard should take it out until all the issues are fixed. Temporarily suspending use of the marks would be an option, too, until such a time that it was deemed that horde had enough fair chances to 'catch up' to make up for the times they were screwed over.

If it's just the fact that PvE is being used towards PvP goals... then I don't know what to tell you, because as I said before, there all ready was PvP gear from PvE encounters in the game.
