Is it just me or has TN become a rather exclusive group for alot of things now? I mean i rarely see people pugging anything anymore. Compared to 3 months ago where everybody was clamouring for an instance run, these days people don't want to PUG it.

Since joining TSB I have gotten invited to:

1. Organized BG runs.
2. 5 World Dragon battles
3. Ony and MC
4. AQ20

And the only reason I get these invites is because someone says in guild chat that a certain guild needs more people, someone is asking if we want in.

I have also noticed only certain guilds do this, even if there is no formal alliance, a few guilds invite TSB regularly and TSB does the same. They make not know the person but they see the guild name and say they are ok or not.

Its very very clique orientated. Anybody else notice that? Or i am just being weird like normal? :D

You're pretty much right.

If you're drawing from guilds you know well, you have more insurance -- if the person's a complete idiot, they've sullied their guild's name. In my personal experience, PUGs generally go... poorly.

The universal LFG channel doesn't help things, either.

Well, the Horde side's organization means I get to group with people I basically trust or know. And for me, I've had a whole 2 years of PuGs. Growing up from 1-60 I could deal with them, but now that I've been 60 for a while, I'm not interested in doing a PuG strath with people who'll most likely make it a chore. I know many decent players in a multitude of guilds, so if I'm going to do anything, it'll be with them.

Of course, Horde-side we're constantly adding new people to our alliance, so I'm pretty happy with the situation. We even have someone to deal with inviting non-guilded people. Fact is though, if you want to be considered for these "cliques", you either have to either be in a big-name guild or get yourself recognized as a decent player.

I am still grinding out my character here (43 priest at the moment, and various 20 something mongrels) and I tried PUGs up until about 28 or so. I have been through a 3 hour VC run, 4 hour SFK run, and a 6 hour RFK run, and that is enough to tell me not to bother. I am exremely lucky to be in a guild with people who are totally supportive and help out with instances.

I am really sad that is how it is, but I just do not have the time to plan 6 hours for an instance that should take no more than 2, and while I know not every group will be like this, I can't take the chance.

I agree completely (and not just because we're in the same guild! )

I think its just the natural evolution of a mature, well established server. Nothing we can really do about it. Upae spent about an hour and a half on the weekend looking for a VC group, with no joy. She's almost at the point where if it wasn't for a Swordwaltzer instance night she would probably skip VC altogether and move on..

I'm willing to bet that most instances are going to be like that. No PUG's, just guild runs with invited guests through inter guild relations..

It's kind of the same way for PvP as well, both BG's and World varieties. If I'm going out to attack something, I'm MUCH more likely to either only tell my guildies about it, or a select other few (IFR, TnR, etc) who I know will follow directions and not fill me up with even more DK's or ignore the strat we're using in said BG. Random pick ups..? They usually won't listen - but then, why should they? Don't know me from Eve. ^_~

Last night, with 3 guildies and Marroc, we had what was for me, the fastest, easiest, and smoothest Scholo run to date.

Back when THEGA (The Horde End Game Association) was getting started, someone from the Alliance side talked about starting a similar organization for you guys. The idea didnt seem to get very far, though. This may be a good time to reconsider that and try to get an Alliance version going (TARGA? You figure out the initials). It's proven to be a good way to keep momentum going across guilds - and at last count, there were 13 Guilds in THEGA, consisting of over 400 members. There's no reason why Alliance can't do the same thing.

Now I am gonna go wash my mouth out with soap for trying to help the Alliance. ;)

Oh that was me. I tried alot of stuff. People weren't interested or didn't have the time etc. I frankly just gave up and never looked back. Thus TSB.

Are you kidding me, Zust? With the horror stories I've heard about Alliance side PuG AV I haven't even gone in yet. ^_~

Woo, naming an organization after an image format!
Well, it made me kind of laugh. I am such a geek.

And Zust, I need three things in there, I'll let you know if your around and I have an open spot.

I know Comrade used to ask for outside help, but RSA is big enough now. He will still ask Epug for a lil help from here adn there. He even hosted a Epug ZG run himself lol.

When i hit 60 4 months ago there were some "LF ZG raid!" in lfg chat. Now its no where. Everythign is guild only these days and no one will take charge and run a simple 20 man raid. Only one ive veer seen do it is comrade. Wish someone else would step up to the plate.

also there migth be people in your guild who are friends with people in liek first legion or Emperium Dawn(or some others). When they need more they will ask that person in your guild to ask in /g. Thats how IFR used to team with the rooks....till the rooks thru them to the gutter i heard.

Something tells me Zust never ran into any of the organized alliance AV games. ;D At least none that I was in.

Not to put down your record or anything, but Alliance AV is so disorganized that horde PUGs have been rolling alliance pugs in there since the server started. With or without leadership, you guys can win.

and thats why i stress so much to shut the faces of horde who everytime we do an organized AV, they say "gg alliance on exploiting." ITS THE ONLY TIME WE WIN. they get to run aroudn and go "play esg and ab, or get free rep and 5000 honor in AV...choices choices" we cant say that  ...

I loved running organized AV with epug when we really ran it. Twas, the shizzle...rolling group after group. Got my TUF in two weekends that way.

I haven't been in a PuG since Rhowen left. There is no reason for the headache because people won't listen and I'm not as nice as she was when handling those people.

Its a preferance I have. Save myself the headache and just run with my guild or people I know and trust.

I'm sorry, Zust, but I'm going to have to agree with Northface, here..

In general, Horde wins. Period. Leader or no, even when people don't listen to directions. The only time we don't, is when we race. Horde doesn't seem to understand that race = we lose. And when Alliance guilds join the same AV .... we race. A lot of the time, we lose.

In almost all the AV's I've played, there is no leadership. I throw out an occasional comment, as do other regular 60's, if things get off of track. What generally happens is, almost all the Hordies just run into the enemy (not literally, actually, they hang back until someone else is fighting them flock together like sheep) and leave EVERYTHING undefended. It's left up to a handful of individuals who work ALONE, sadly, to defend things, and call out southern incomings, when the Alliance actually DO send small groups south. It's an efficient, but very ... very .... delicate system. and frustrating at times. when the Alliance actually fights. XP

In all honesty, I don't even remember the last time I fought Vanndar. I'm either defending an uncapped graveyard or bunker, or down south saving random towers/lieutenants. And I don't even join the main raidgroup, because, in AV, it's nearly pointless.

As for other instance PUGs, I was in an Upper Blackrock PUG last week (Jemma invited me, so there were two THEGA members there), and it was THE SMOOTHEST Upper Blackrock assault I have EVER had. Two hours. Zero wipes. We got pretty close, once, pulling across the bridge, but we survived. In fact, we had a TON of nearly lethal mistakes, that run, but we recovered from them all -- someone even pulled a Leeroy and stepped over a bunch of eggs. And not one of us died. It was glorious.

I crave instances so badly. I don't even care about the loots so much (though they are a nice bonus), I just miss the dungeons with every fibre of by being.

If any of ya'll are willing to take a semi-experienced hunter along for the ride, I promise I'll try not to be horribly incompetent.

I've done just about everything in AV. On my first server I got exalted with my pally back when it was much harder to get rep. I was fortunate though that they hadn't implemented the patch yet where they tried to keep the games even. We had a few 40 vs. 15's where we rolled them. I had like 15 wins in 4 days. Talk about getting some rep.

On TN with Castor I've been in RSA, JP, FL, and EPUG organized AV's as well as your run of the mill, good 'ole puggy. Alliance pugs usually have most of the people in the raid, but everyone's either argueing or not talking or you have 6 people telling everyone what to do.

Plus they got used to losing and now just go in there to farm the +1 rep/HK. Or at least that was the state of affairs 2 months ago, the last time I was in AV.

I got exalted with AV and all I got was this lousy trinket. Oh, and a sick off hand I don't use because I don't have a main hand worth a crap.

i just hope I can have the kind of success the horde had on this server on VentCo so I can get exalted in a couple of short weeks! UF and Don Julio here I come!

No idea what time that is servertime, but if you want backup I'll be on. I like running lower-level instances too.

I was in a PUG for MC once...was led by Ex RSA and such memebers...formed RSA next day, and Invited me during the raid to join...no clue if I am still in, or if they still exsist....

When I go ANYWHERE I always ask for guildies, friends, friendly guilds etc if they want a space.

Most of the time, it is just Priest ((20 priest on alliance total it seems)) or a warrior ((50 of them maybe)), so It is easier to go "Hey Acy, wanna do Scholo?" then /LFG Need Priest for Scholo.

one gets a good healer, other gets crap.

We need to set up a list of Priest and Warriors who like to do instance runs...*nods*
