Greetings!

I am hoping that this is a community board, however if it is a guild board please forgive my intrusion with my babble. =)

I have been browsing a few of the realm forums for RP PVP servers looking for a suitable home for mine and my boyfriends Hordlings and I came across this site. From what I have seen so far I am very impressed with the feeling of community and get a feeling you guys know how to have fun. I felt those lacking while browsing the other boards of the other RPPVP servers.

We currently have Alliance characters on Venture Co (I am Thaelora and my boyfriend is Aetar), which I noticed you had a side forum for folks on your server that had alts there. I recognized a few names already, Vhael (I hope your venture to get a solid RP guild rolling is going well) and Beauty (I had great fun listening in on an RP session you were having with some guild mates in the Pig and Whistle Tavern =) Not to worry... I have a character with a drinking problem too =P) I hope to see more people RPing, as of yet it has been sparse and I often wonder if I am on a RP server at all lol.

We are not new to WoW, we started when the servers first opened about 2 years ago. I even geeked out (I'm proud to be a geek!) when the game first released and drove 2 hours to go to the presale party they had at midnight in Irvine, Ca lol. I stood in a line that wrapped around the building 3 times for 6 hours. That was a blast. I have a level 60 hunter and he, a level 59 paladin on Cenarius, but unfortunately we got bored with the game and quit.

We are however new to the RP and PVP scene and we are hoping that this new adventure will reawaken the excitement and fun we had in WoW when we first played. I have already found that knowing I am in contested territory definitely adds a level of danger and excitement I think was missing from a normal server. Also while we are quite passionate and open RPing with each other, we are quite shy when it comes to RPing with others, which I hope will change as we grow closer to the community of the servers we play on. It also doesn't help with the RP bashers I've seen lately either. >=( Aside from that however, I am happy with the Venture Co server as I have seen many more nice and fun people than idiots. But we also want to play a few Horde characters, which is what brought me to your board.

So, just a couple questions for you guys if you don't mind. =) Would you say the RP community is rather large on this server? Are they fairly open with RP or do they have circles in which they stay in? Are there RP events on the Horde side for story telling or gatherings to promote RPing? How large is the Horde population in comparison to the Alliance?

Please forgive my long post, I am known to rattle on and on when I get jazzed about something if you don't tell me to shut up. =) Just from visting these forums and the knowledge that some of you live on Venture Co too, it's already starting to feel like home.

Oh and for those of you that are on Venture Co, Trustus has set up a forum for the community there as well. http://theventureco.com/forums/index.php?sid=7dd87583321801c3589641a8b5c13617

Good journeys to you all,

Welcome to TNG Vidria.

Yes, this is a community board. We have a little VCo alt guild going, but that's just a minor part of the forums.

The RP community is fairly large and active here, although like most RP servers if you don't become involved with one of the RP guilds and/or don't like to initiate RP with strangers, you might find it a tad sparse. But it's out there, and while a lot of the players on TN aren't RPers, most of them will support you if they see you doing it. We also have our share of asshats and kiddies, but you'll find them everywhere.

I know Chavie was doing a storytelling gathering for a while...not sure if that is still going or not. The Gazette sponsors a semi-monthly "shindig" that is cross-faction. I've been kinda slacking and haven't announced a new one in a while though

We have a considerable RP community on the server. Though individual experiences have varied, one way or another most would probably say that the RP condition has somewhat fluctuated over the past half of a year, though I'm sure that's universal.

I should say that if you encounter a roleplayer here, they'll be open to interactions. If there are circles, it is by vice of organization, rather than antisocial tendencies.

I have been present for all manner of stories and gatherings, and am confident in the resumption of such activities. Personally, I'm aching for some roleplay, and the suffusion of new blood and new ideas inspires great enthusiasm.

Welcome! On the Venture Co, I am also named Daala.

Welcome to the TNG, many have already explained about the RP situation of the server so I wont go into it. I would advise you put some thought into what side you want to play (alliance or horde) and take a look at our guild listings etc and make a run at becoming a member of one of our established RP guilds. That will be the best way to get in on tons of fun and most of our RP guilds on this server gladly take anyone no matter level etc so long as they are mature and well.... RP.

Thanks for the replies. =) I decided to play as Horde on TN as I have Alliance on VCO. So you may see me around as Vidria, my Forsaken Warlock or Khorgrah, my Tauren hunter (tauren are so cuddly and Forsaken are dead sexy! Dead... hahahah, I crack myself up sometimes....). I have a Forsaken rogue in mind but the name I have always used for him is taken /cry, which means I have to create a new one and a new backstory, but oh well. =)

Not that it really matters I suppose, I am female (Yes there are too girls on the internets!) but I play both sexes as the gender of my characters is determined by their personality when I create them.

The guild thing.... well after being a guild leader in EQ for a number of years and WoW for one year, I wanted to kind of keep my distance from the guild scene for a bit, but I may change my mind as I level up. Thanks for the advice on that though, Karkarov. =)

Oh, and Sanrin, awwww, I hate you too! /big plague ridden hug! =P

Look forward to seeing some of you around soon. =)

Don't need a guild to RP. Lookit me, I've been guildless for quite some time and have no problems finding people to RP with.

Of course I'm so damn noisy it's kind of hard for people to not know who I am.
