View Full Version : State of Venture Co TNG Address (sort of)

I don't know if it's just me and when I get on Vco to play, but it seems our numbers on Vco (as TNG) are becoming diminished. Also Mortica hasn't been on in days. Not that I'm blaming Mort for anything at all.
What I'm hoping to address is the future of Vco for our community. I know for a fact that some of us are wanting to stay. And some of us are slowly going back to TN fulltime.
As one of those who plan on staying on Vco, I can't help but wonder if staying in the "TNG Alt guild" is fruitless for us Vco stayers.
I do know, however, that Eldien and Luna (hope I got names right) are thinking about a true Vco guild, and thus haven't joined the TNG Alt guild at all yet.
My main desire is to have a real Vco guild that has a true backstory, rp events, and still consists of the TNG community friends + newcomers who join us in the process. Think of it as expansion.
Right now, I'm currently somewhat comfortable in how TNG-Vco is going. There are still people who come on. Although, it's rather quiet compared to the early days. I only fear that the trend will continue and TNG-Vco will become a ghost-guild. So, before that has a chance to happen (or not), I wanted to address it.
I, personally, have 3 possible courses of action in my Vco future:
(1) At some point leave TNG-Vco for a true VcoGuild
(2) Band together with other TNGers who are staying and form a new, real guild
(3) Stay in TNG-Vco and wait for Mortica to get things truly rolling
Just like all of you, I crave roleplaying (in guild and in person), rp events, a strong guild presence on the server, and guildmates to group and have fun with. The TNG name is already known accross Venture Co, and we've had many requests to define what TNG means and have had people wanting to join us.
And a small few who truly know what TNG is OOC, respect us even more for that. It makes us seem like the real deal.
What does the future hold?

Um, I only play Viscera when Noj and the rest of Sanctuary isn't around, or of the Alliance are being pissy and won't sign up for BGs.
Prolly why I haven't been on for a few days.

I play Beauty almost every day. Of course, most of that is either battlegrounds, or dancing for money. I do a heck-uva-lot of RP with her too, and really like it.
I really enjoy VCo, and will probably stick around for quite some time. At the same time, I've been playing my TN characters too....
I don't see a problem as of yet.

TNG came about, because there was a post about the new RP-PVP server by Mortica, and everybody had a big agreement that a lot would make an alt there - so we as roleplayers could play together without worrying about the different paths we've taken here at Twisting Nether.
It was never meant as a permenant switch or a serious attempt at doing something in-game. We roleplay, we enjoy, and we try something new. If I feel like not killing Pylith? Well... I can go to Venture Co and do a bit of questing with him, happy as a bunch of hippies in a cornfield.
I'm going to be Frank, since Vilmah is Dru. If you want something *serious* or are thinking of switching:
Don't sow the seeds of "switching" here, or try to make TNG more than what it is. It is an alt guild. While some may want to play the alt more than others - let's not get past the word 'alt.'
Woe to the individual who starts to recruit and/or truly push to make people stop playing on Twisting Nether and go exclusively to the alt guild on the new server. I will come down on said individual like a thunderbolt - and leave little or nothing on the strike zone.
... not saying anybody is trying to do that. Let's just call that paragraph a preemptive strike.

Excuse me?! 8O What happens to Seekers is my business, and the business of my 2nd in command, Trevlyn (or Trevlin as he's known in Vco TNG)

I'm not "sewing seeds" at all. I just want to know what the plans are and what's going on so I can make my own plans. I'm stayin on Vco. I doesn't matter to me what everyone else does. I'd just like to know so I can do what I need to do.

Do I have to spell it out?
Before I joined Twisting Nether, I took a 6 month break from WoW because I wanted to wait til the next new RP-PVP server. I got impatient, thinking it would never happened, and rolled on Twisting Nether. I joined The Grim, Infection, and finally made Seekers of Arthas. Right after I made the (real) Seekers, Venture Co arrived.
The end.
Also, Trevlyn is the new guild leader of Seekers of Arthas.

Can we lock this, please?
Don't lock it! I haven't even gotten a straight answer yet...
Then again, since Mortica is absent, I may never get one.

Sometimes I like VCo. I can RP there with people I don't RP with on TN...I can do what I want, when I want, without fear of what so-and-so might say...I have total freedom, while still being in a guild of good people.
That said, TN is my main server, even though I may play more on VCo sometimes. If I were to leave TN, I'd be upsetting alot of people, and most importantly, I would upset my wife, who followed me to this server after months of coaxing. If I were to make VCo my main server, I would surely draw aggro and have my account pulled. She has told me this. lol.
So, while I enjoy the Venture company, and play on it nearly every day, Lovely and Teelia are my main characters, and this is my main server.
But if Vhael wants to stay on VCo, I think we should cut him some slack. When it all comes down to it, we play this game to have fun. If Vhael is having fun, then he is doing nothing wrong....

Thanks, Tellia. :)
But, this thread isn't about me. This thread is about Venture Co and the plans of TNGer's there-in.
I never meant for this thread to be about Vhael/Demortius. Don't worry about Seekers. It's taken care of.

Is there no future of TNG-Vco Guild? Will it be a ghost-town-guild at some point? Do any of you plan on staying besides me? (I do believe Eldian and Luna do)

I plan on playing there nearly every day, mostly in the mornings, but occasionally at night. TN is my main server, but I am also working on Beauty's skills (which I have sponsored by dancing, ironically), and will do what I can to help the guild while I am there.
I don't plan to level Beauty to 60 anytime soon, but at the same time I will be a member of the guild and will do whatever I can to help when I am not playing on TN.

I can't see making Venture Co anything more than goofing off for me. I love RPing and hanging around with all you fun peeps in the same faction on VeCo. It's also a chance for me to experiment more with characters and do things I wouldn't normally do (not that I'll do anything embarassing ... what? Morticia's away? ... NAKED MAILBOX DANCING EVENT!! GOLDSHIRE!! GO! GO! GO!!)
Anyone that wanted to make the switch: it's fine by me. It could be kinda cool getting in on the groud floor of a server just as it was taking off.
Vheal/ Demortius, my advice/ feelings on the matter:
If you are making this your "main", leave the guild and join the OOC channel. TNG is a guild full of alts. Sure, some people from TN will have made VeCo their home server, but most won't. And most don't want to.
It's fun to get away from your main characters from time-to-time. It's fun to play with the community members here, especically if you are the opposing factions. It's especially fun when TN goes down.
About the low number of people online: it's to be expected. The first few days, everyone was trying out something new. Fun, no commitments. Gradually people go back to TN. A few stay permenately, a few play their alts on the new server regularily. But a lot will not. It's to be expected.
But the thing is, neither Mortica nor anyone else said that this would be a serious guild. I think everyone who signed up for it did so with this idea in mind.
Bottom line: TNG is not the guild for "mains". You will most likely end up being disappointed by the lack of participation from the guild if you expect it to be anything other than what it was intended for: a guild for all of us to play together when we feel like taking a brief break from TN.

I think Zasu summed up my feelings fairly well.
I'm sorry I haven't been around to help form things up a bit better, but my job commitment was rather sudden and rather important, so it sucked out the time I had planned to spend sorting thigs out here.
You are more than welcome to stay with TNG, but as Zasu said, this is and was always planned to be, only an alt guild.
If you, or any other players, want to make your VCo character your main character, then I'm happy you found something you enjoy. You are certainly welcome to stay in the /tng channel to chat with whoever happens to be on at that time, I just think you're gonna be happier if you find a "full-time" guild to interact with.

Mortica!
Your response is what I was waiting for. I should've just sent you a PM to avoid the unnecessary drama here-within. In any case, once a TNGer always a TNGer I say. I may not have been around as long as others, but I do feel like you guys are family nonetheless. I will always have the TNG channel open and will continue to group with whoever is around. And I will continue to "troll" these forums. I'm not deleting Demortius. In fact I may pop on him from time to time. But, the bottom line is Vhael is my main. Demortius is my alt.
Perhaps I will get in that guild Luna and Eldian are forming and still be with fellow TNGers. Only time will tell.
All I wanted out of this post was an official statement about TNG-Vco. And I got it. Thank you, Morti!

Especially on Alliance, ewww. :P

While I am still spending the vast majority of my tim on Chingaso, I am also setting aside some time to develop Ventra. And I am trying to put just as much effort into Ventra's uniqueness of character as I have (and continue to) with Chingaso. So, Ventra is an alt, but is much more than just an alt.

VCo is a fun server to play on, but TN is where my main is and where i have devoted most of my time. though i do like playing a mage (a hot sexy blonde one at that), but the main always comes first because he has a need to be highest rank that he can get without driving me totally insane!
