((This was written by a guildmember of mine, Shadowz. I'm pretty impressed, because he's never, ever, done any kind of roleplaying till I got ahold of him. It can be done!))
The Citadel Guard was out patroling the dark woods of Duskwood. Akwar Blackhoof had called us to bring the war to them, to the alliance who hid in their safe havens, away from the war-games of the Basin and the Gulch. I was here, because I was asked to do my duty for the Citadel, the dark bastion for the misfits of the world, thoes who refused to believe the war was over.
I was getting scared now. I knew someone was close, I could feel it, but wasn’t quite sure. The beasts that roamed the woods were stronger then I, and it did not help ease my uncertainty. I crossed the bridge to duskwood, always wary of his steps, and for an instance, I saw something in the shadows. Before I could react, something caught me by the shoulders and jerked me backwards.
“Be quiet” it was Sepheus. “They are there”.
“A warrior, a priest, and others” said Palyu.
“Then what are we waiting for?” I asked, “lets own them”.
“Quiet fool, we are still waiting for Awkar, Abusive, Kapone, and others. They went ahead to scout” said Sepheus.
Just then a rogue popped out of the shadows and sunk his dagger into the back of Sepheus. The blow would have been deadly, if it weren’t for his qucik thinking. He chanted a few words in gutterspeak and out came ripples of ice, freezing the rogue in place.
We took care of him fast, sending his soul to the spirit healer as his body fell lifelessly upon the dirt, and started moving up the road. Moments later we saw Kapone bashing his Corpsemaker against the side of an Alliance Warrior's head. At a distance Abusive was also taking on a priest and a paladin. The Paladin screamed in agony as his soul released istelf from its now lifeless container. The priest realised that he was no match for the shaman and began to flee, sending a mental wave of fear slaming into Abusive. Suddenly, out of seemingly nowhere, Awkar jumped out, shaped like a feirce lion, and onto the pathetic fleeing priest, finishing her off.
“Well that was fun, it should send our message nicely” said Abusive, wraping a bleeding wound in his arm with some silk he had converted into a bandage.
“Yes, now they will know, they are not safe from the Dark Citadel, not anywhere.” said Awkar, a wicked grin on his face.
"Just so long as I get to kill humans, I'm happy." Sepheus said, cackling.
We all heard clapping behind us and turned around. Out of the shadows came another rogue. He had been so quiet that we had not even known of his presence. It was Lynx, the Night Elf rogue that was our self proclamed arch enemy in the battlegrounds. My faithful pet, Naznia was on him in an instant, defending her master. However to our surprise, he seemed more pleased by the lashes of her whip then worried.
“Tell your pet to stop” said Sepheus.
Awkar stepped up and asked him “What do you want, elf?” He did not look at all amused.
Though we knew he couldn’t speak to us in our own common tongue, he seemed to understand well enough. He pointed at me, his look both serious, and deadly. If I had been alive, it would have sent shivers up my spine.
“He wants to duel you Shadowz” said Abusive.
“What do you mean, alone?" I asked
“Yes alone, I want to see how this goes, it will at least be entertaining”. Said Awkar, and then he laughed.
With uncertainty I cast my Demon Armor, and readied myself for the duel. Before my very eyes Lynx vanished. I looked around everywhere and suddenly felt cold metal of his dagger tear through what little flesh I had remaining on my right side. Whatever life that was left in me was slowly being taken away by the flurry of attacks that followed. Yet, he stopped short of sending my soul, what ever small bit of one I had, to visit the Spirit Healer.
I heard screams, and saw a few alliance rushing towards us. With a few fast heals from Abusive, we turned and assaulted the oncomming alliance force. It did not take very long to finish them off. After the attack, I looked around and noticed that Lynx was gone. He had disappeared…
Awkar then said, “Well that was done nicely, lets find us some more Alliance to kill”.
We all scattered and before much time had passed, Kapone yelled out “Bots”!
I went to him evading some of the ogres around and found that the others were already there, and then I saw. They looked just like every other wretched Alliance, yet they were different.
“They are bots, lifeless bodies controlled by the lich king. They have no emotion of their own, all they do is kill in a systematic manner” said Kapone “Lets KILL'em!” He charged at them, swinging his Corpsemaker and finished them fast.
“Well, I am getting bored of Duskwood, lets go to Redridge, there will be more there” said Sepheus.
Now, I am a warlock. Because of this, I am pretty used to being left behind, while others in the Citadel guard, the Druids, Shamans, and Mages are able to move much faster with their different forms and abilities. When I finaly caught up to them, I saw Narog, Vicarious, and a few others had also joined us. Everyone was engaged in combat with one member of the Alliance or another. Most of them were much weaker, and did not put up much of a fight.. The pathetic band of Alliance ran seeing they had no hope. We ran after them.
To late we realized it was a trap. We were ambushed by more Alliance. There were four of them for every one of us. A Warrior, Rogue, Paladin, and a Gnome Mage made it their personal vendetta to take me out, personaly. The Elite gaurds of the area had also joined the battle, and it did not take long before we were all dead and standing in front of the ghostly spirit healer. Luckaly, she told us that it was not yet our time to enter the neither.
After resurrecting we regrouped and decided to head back to The Citadel. Broken and battered both emotionally, and physically, we entered the gates of our mighty Haven. The High Priestess, Sinda came up and greeted Awkar with good news.
“The Defilers and the Warsong Runners just came. They said they were being overwhelmed by the Alliance at Arathi and the Glutch. The Alliance are queing up!”
“Good, It has worked”. Said Awkar “Onto the Battlegrounds then!” Everyone cheered. It had worked, they had come to play again.
