History: Ursuan was born as the eldest of children to his parents, with his brother Tetnan born some years after him. They were driven out of Desolace by the centaur, as were many other tauren tribes, and fled south into Feralas. Ursuan and Tetnan found themselves without any other blood relatives by the time they reached adulthood, so they mingled among the local tribes for a time, but Ursuan didn't stay for long, journeying on his own to increase his spiritual prowess, while his brother stayed behind. Both were gifted in their attunement to nature and the Earthmother, but in different ways. Tetnan remained to become a primalist, and took on an apprentice, Anthek Coldmane. Unfortunately, the younger Briarclaw was also afflicted by a disease which he stubbornly refused to get treated or even notify his brother of, until it was far too late. After Ursuan learned of his brother's death, he returned to Feralas for the funeral and to fill in for some of Tetnan's duties, although he did not stay for long, returning to the east, to the Barrens.

It was not long after that the orcs arrived in Kalimdor, and Ursuan joined the procession of the Bloodhoof and the Horde towards Stonetalon. While warding off the centaur, quillboar, harpies and Alliance, he partnered with a female Shu'halo warrior, Nahata, and her fighting spirit drew a lot of his attention. As they gathered and readied for the trek to Mount Hyjal, he told her that, when it was over, he told her he'd take her as his mate. Unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be, as Nahata fell in the Battle of Mount Hyjal by a demon's blade, and Ursuan was heavily injured by the same one trying to protect her, leaving him with a long scar from his shoulder to down his chest. He spent two weeks in bed recovering from it, the nature of the blade preventing the wound from closing, before he learned of Nahata's fate.

He spent much of his time after that helping to cleanse the blight from the earth across Azeroth, fighting off the Scourge as well. After being disheartened by the lack of progress over time, he returned to the lands of the tauren once again, and began to make a living off of selling hides.
