I have to agree this picture is great.

Actually, this is probably the response to: "My Shaman/Pali brings nothing to the raid". Creating Horde specific or Alliance specific content ? Maybe, but remember that more whining would come out of that. Its just a big devellopment headache, and any decision would have created the same effect, because you cant please over 5 million people ;)

Are they serious? The Horde and Alliance are different, that's what makes PvP so great in the battlegrounds, because it gives an oppertunity for two different factions to battle for superiority! Paladins and Shamen are different, yes, but they are not overpowering in either respect. They are both melee, but were the paladin pulls warrior and priest (leaning towards warrior), while the shaman pulls a warrior/druid/mage combo (leaning towards caster). If anything, this is Blizzard just getting fed up with one faction complaining about that other being "overpowered", so now they're going to make them equal.... /spit.

Someone please tell me this is a bad joke....

They made some pact thingy with demons and they are STILL accepted by the light, to become paladins!?

Unless they make those shamans only playable by dwarves on the alliance boo >_> ...and with new starting zones near Northeron and the opening of Grim Batol ;)

I can understand the dislike, but let's hope they add some other things to balance out the class combinations. (Nevermind what it'd be like to have paladins fighting with the help of shaman totems and vice versa.) Admittedly, it'd probably be difficult to add another class into the game because it'd skew all the interclass mechanics even further.

Didn't they mention that they were thinking of adding racials to classes besides just priest racials? Maybe they can add a bit flair, but I doubt it. I'm just trying to...guh...trying not to say something incredibly bad right now.

haha... when i booted up WoW tonight and saw that on the news screen thing... i thought someone had hacked the WoW servers and was playing a joke, so i literally like... howled with laughter. then i realized wait a second... this is probably for real...

so sure enough, i click the little linky, and i get taken to that page. i nearly literally rofl'd. i mean... i've heard jokes, made in the most sarcastic way possible, about blizz making draenei shammies and blood elf pallies, but never in my wildest dreams... i'm still not quite sure i fully believe this isn't a practical joke by blizz.

however, while it is a major cop out, if this takes them further toward their vixion of where they want this game to go, then i'm ok with it. mainly because i'm aware of the fact that they probably have a little better perspective of things as a whole, and that we as gamers tend to be a tad shortsighted.

and, if i may be so bold as to say, i like how they made it so that the blood elves stole and manipulated the "light" (true to their nature), and how the draenei came by their shamanistic powers through a spiritual journey.
