what do you guys think of them. i think they look pretty cool, and the idea that flying them is like swimming aboce water. i just wish they could be used outside of outland, that would be fun. also i hear there going to be a pain to get, alot of gold and you have to get rep too. at least they can run on the ground at epic mount speed as well.

Didn't it say nether dragons were a rare drop or something?

Still hoping that I can ride a gryphon... <3Didn't state if it was a drop, just that it won't be common. So, either a drop, a staggeringly difficult quest item, or a prohibitively expensive sale. I'm guessing raid drop, as I can't think of many that'd hold a drake in their pocket.

Flying mounts in Azeroth would make things...well, irritating. Most anyone with a flying mount would be 60+. If you think rooftop camping is irritating now, imagine if people could fly up to one of them to gank lowbies to avoid guards. Likewise, imagine sieges of the larger cities that can be accessed easily by flying. Talk about irrelevant NPC defenses. Those are just some of the things I can point out as to why I wouldn't flying mounts around on the world as we know it.
Not unless shooting someone off of one would lead to massive damage, if not near instant death.

They might actually have guards on flying mounts to prevent that, and, knowing blizzard, you'll probably have to do some rediculous quest at lvl 70 which will then give you the mount after you pay loads of gold for it. I don't think its going to be that rare, theres alot of 60's out there already and didn't blizzard say that it would be hard to get a normal mount? It really isn't that tough.

Mabye have them fall off of thier mount, it would be quite easy to program if blizzard decided to use it.

Well, if you fly at a certain height above the ground, 40 feet, hunters and other ranged classes can't shoot you shoot. They might put a penalty so that the higher you fly the slower you go.

The guard tower's in Outlands shoot arrows at players from opposing factios who fly over the cities.
As well, Horde and Alliance will have their OWN distinct flying mounts after a quest. Even then the Nether Drake will be one of the hard to attain flying mounts along with other one's that haven't been named yet.

I like everything about it except the fact that it'll be hard to get; and that it's outland only for all the stuff you have to do to get it. Those idiots should fix up Azeroth so it can have Flying Mounts. Make all that space unavigatible mountains or something. Damn it.
Not positive but I think they'd have to redo the pathing for the entire world to do that. Probly not gonna happen. I heard someone saying it'd be hugely difficult to put flyers in Azeroth for some reason.

There's a reason only level 60s can get epic mounts.
...
Because they are level 60, and that's your 'reward.' The ability to access shit better than a level 59.
Now just replaced 60 with 70, and 59 with 69. While 69 should be something everybody should achieve for (Even Zus with his STD filled hooker)... 70 is just so much better.
