Most recent history: Azual betrayed his brother Resinous during a final offensive against clan Icecloud. Though Resinous' body lies preserved in the frozen north guarded by the frost wolf Surin, his spirit is buried in the Ghostlands. Azual was well aware when he buried the sword that his brothers spirit would dissolve into the soil if given enough time. He decided rather than exposing the last of the Iceclouds to his brothers corruption, he would destroy his brother and join with this object of his hatred.
Azual was somewhat shocked to find the last surviving member of a savage mage clan to be a paladin. It was obvious that this elf named Rhatizin was unaware of his own heritage. Though he still held the clan name of Icecloud. He had never even heard of a Beyruul. Rhatizin sat with Azual and discussed the future. Azual kept the secrets of his brothers plans to himself. Upon learning that Rhatizin was the General of a rising army Azual became interested. He decided to join with General Rhatizin, and for the first time, a Beyruul and Icecloud were allied. Rhatizin saw the potential in Azual and quickly promoted him to Captain, putting him in charge of Lieutenant Felgrum and his squad.
