*Ninjas idea from someone else, but forgets name, so posts it anyway.*
Some of us were talking in the TNG OOC Chan tonight, someone mentioned a Fight Club like RP event... One on One Melee Fights between members. For supremacy, for domination, FOR LOOTS!
My personal ideas:
No armour aside from pants and belt.
No Melee weapons
Throwing Knives?
No potions
No magic abilities during fight (Blink acceptable)
Bandages allowed.
No out of combat help. (Heals/Buffs)
Bets and prizes?
Booze!
If we do plan on this, I know a really good place... Stormwind, "behind" the Dwarven district, there's a small area called "Cut-Throat Alley". No one ever goes there, no NPCs, just a small alleyway and an... Empty bar. *Wink Wink*
I dunno, random idea...

I'm in, even if its as a cheerleader...Or the person who heals the fighters after the match.
The only problem is, we can't duel in the city. Which is stupid.
If we want to do this, we have to do it in Goldshire, or somewhere else. Thunder Falls, maybe? It is secluded, and has a house. We can kill the defias there and make it our base!

How exactly could a mage win this? heh

Hah! I can still stealth and run around. And not do much else besides punch. Sprint and Evasion, that works. Hey, they aren't magical.
Rogues are going to win this. Heck, Kick even works. No one else can kick.

Close, but I can tell you from experience, when it comes to bare knuckle brawling, you absolutely cannot beat a paladin.
*wink*
I intend to win this touney hands down. I am collecting hops and will soon have enough barrels of ale to be drunk for a week. I won't feel nuff'n

Besides, that ally tends to be a favorite place for certain types of people to go have, er... fun. *shudders at the memories of what she's found there*

I like the Goldshire idea. We need quick & easy access to alchohol for an event like this!

Ew.
Just... Ew.
Anyway. I believe classes will be fairly balanced, in the way you look at it, Mages and Warlocks lack in raw Strength, gain in their Armours (Ice, Mage, and Demon). While Rogues have no magical buffs themselves, they can yes, kick. Warriors, self explanitory. Hunters, Aspects. Pallies with their Auras.

If we need a spot, you can actually duel INSIDE the inn in Goldshire. So, my guess is that you could duel in the basement too. Nice, dark, dank, and just upstairs is a liquor vendor.
Also, in regards to rules, I'd say rogues and warriors shouldn't be allowed to use rage and energy abilities. Then we can give it a shot and see what really needs to be balanced out.
Bare knuckle would be fun but what about unbladed fist weapons, ie brass knuckles and the like. It would add a little flair and speed to the fights. Plus add an element of RP on the voyages to find and get the weapons. Just a thought

Well warriors with no shield and no melee weapon already cant use rage because just about no ability is usable without those two things. It would have to be bareknuckle because not all classes can use fist weapons I am pretty sure.

Same principle applies to rogues and combo points - all rogue attacks that generate CPs abd use energy require a melee weapon equipped - brass knuckles count as melee weapons, but if they're banned that won't be an issue anyway.

Except Garrote. Oh, that makes things a lot easier.

Yeah, it was partly my idea. I said that we should make it like Fight Club in the sense that there is no talking about Fight Club. Somebody took it further into an actual fight club.
That was a damn good movie, too.
