Anyone had any good RP experiences yet?

I know yesterday morning a group of TNGers met and had a little talk about the guild, among other things. I'd like to hear stories if you have any...

The other day, I was in a group with two others, both RP'ers. To mix it up a bit, I decide to break out the Maharla routine. Basically, talking dirty, and hiding in stealth during a fight. Kinda freaked one out, so I actually had to explain what was going on. Funny stuff.

Nothing major, but many, many little interactions. I'm very happy with how much RP I'm seeing on this server!

I've had some of the most awesome RP experiences on the new server. Many with just random strangers. Heard a fight in one of the taverns and ran in to find a dwarf beating up on an NPC. Not sure how the NPC went hostile, but I was like "Whoa! What started this?" and the dwarf is like "Just wanted the bloody mug is all." and then walks out.

Lots of random RP encounters, too many to mention. And with you guys, it was a load of fun having Whisper come flapping into the bar you and Omeri were RPing in and just sit quietly at the top of the steps. Was a really funny encounter.

This is very much the type of RP I imagined when I read about RP servers.

I'm still heavy on the reporting finger though, as I don't want this to end.

Warrior quest. I had to do that last night. You have to beat up a drunk and take his mug to give it to someone else.

I also had a barroom brawl with another player in Goldshire the other night. I didn't know you could duel in the bars. It was fun though.

There was a rogue in our group last night who kept twirling her daggers, which I thought was neat. A gnome tried to flirt with me in Loch Modan. I walked into a conversation in an inn about bug reproduction.

That Gnome that popped up during our little meeting yesterday was pretty funny though...

I would quite like to see us claim a little inn or something where we can just drop in and RP, and often find someone there. My guild hang out in the Blue Recluse on TN. If you see a few of them in SW on the guild roster, that is likely where they will be. I like that very much. They also meet new applicants there and it all feels very natural and not interviewy. Just and idea.

I've had awesome RP encounters. Only problem is, people keep whispering me, and last night it cut off a good RP encounter I had going. =(

Still haven't been able to turn off "lore" like people tell me.

Vilamh- I would uncheck all of your addons, and turn them on one at a time until you determine the cause. Sometimes the addon names come up differently on your addon list.


RP- What I love most about this server is the random RP I've encountered. It's everywhere! Most of the RP i encounter on TN is channel based, and while I do enjoy it my heart belongs to face to face RP encounters.

I've enjoyed RP-ing with you all a bunch, but my favorite encounter happened in Darkshore. My husband and I came across a human warlock. He chastised her for bringing demons into Elven lands. He wasn't particularily nice about it. (All IC, of course.) Instead of taking it ooc or giving the Leet response I would expect (From a lot of my encounters on TN :( ) she kept it all IC and even dished it out. RP conflict, yumm!

I have been experiencing some of the same so far..

For example, there's a human priest I bump into a lot it seems, Mickey is his name.

Actually, first time I met him it literally was a "bump"; we ran into each other in the path from Goldshire to SW. He was wandering around aimlessly and popped into my way. We both simultanously went "OOUF!!" which was hilarious in itself. Turns out he was temporarily blinded by a kobold dynamite stick..

Tiddus and I had a wonderful RP moment involving a supposed demon trapped inside his chicken... who vows to rule the world if we would just swear ourselves to his service...

The chicken channels through him to communicate to the world..

To be honest though, I suspect I'm not getting as much random stuff happening to me as a lot of you. If I had to place a cause, I would suggest its because I'm a gnome, and they seem to get overlooked a lot..

Just my observation.. We aren't as sexy as a Night Elf, as endowed as a human, or as rich in character as a dwarf..

We're just there as comic relief it seems... (sigh..)

Nouri- I get so much random RP because I make sure to initiate most of it. People respond, and it goes from there. I've only had one rp griefing event (they were reported and haven't been back online since. *cheer*) and everyone else I've talked to has RP'd.

/agree.. actually, Tiddus/chicken promised me all the women I can handle if I swear fealty to him. I asked him "even orc women?" He choked at that..

Finde is a deviant little gnome, and has a fetish for orc women..

Zasu.. what I meant to say really is that the random RP encounters I have had are mostly of my own making. Aside from that encounter with Mickey folk just dont go out of their way it seems to RP with a nearby gnome.

They would much prefer to approach that hawt NE huntress..

I guess I can't fault them. I am a little creep after all... :twisted:

Hrm... well, I don't run into too many people initiating conversation with me. I basically just butt my way into every conversation I pass.

My favourite moment on this server was while playing Vexi some random griefer came up to me and started harrassing her. Instead of going right to, "REPORT GO AWAY" as Vexi I figured she wouldn't understand and would just assume he was talking about something smart so she'd go along with it.

His name was something Leetish (Completely against TOS) and when she asked his name he said, "Franklyn" so she just started calling him "Frankie" (Yeah I kinda think of my rp characters as separate people)

Eventually the conversation lasted twenty minutes until some other rp griefers came up and 'humped' her... but instead of getting mad I just responded how I figured Vexi would respond.

They followed her around and suddenly were all rping all over the place. Every time they tried to grief, she just said, "Ya well, I jus' dun understand wut yo talkin' bout."

The initial griefer... REROLLED with "Franklyn" as his actual name. I see him around now... and he's playing on the server and we RP together.

That was probably the most amazing thing I've ever experienced in RP in this game... well other than the fun World PvP Raids you guys have run!

Encoutered this HRogue and a Warrior talking, noticed "hey, their in character!". So I felt better, kept hunting. The warrior was apprently hunting dragon whelps, I was hunting Gnolls. I told him IC to be careful and to watch his back and such. He replied with a "I ca' watch meh back fine"

I hit level 19 and at that very SECOND a troll hunter, level 21 comes from nowhere and begins attacking. Near death the warrior attacks him and saves me, the Troll flees. as he was running away I cunc shot him and we took him down. Ended up I was the one that needed to watch my back.
