I have seen player created video on places like utube... What program is being used to video tape the screen?

I use fraps

And edit it in Windows Movie maker. I know some people use Sony Vegas:

But I do not find this program to be beginner friendly, and it is expensive, although they do run a free trial.

Would Studio 9 work as video editing?? I use this for my camcorder...
