So i hear for my Mr.WOWHead how will remain anonymous, that Inscriptions is best paired with Herbalism. So I was thinking, Redemptio is now specked Herb/Tailor.
I originally went to Tailor from Alchy to get the PMC set (witch i don't need/use anymore) so i normally don't use it unless a random person needs a Golden Spell thread.

My question is. Should i go back to Alchy or wait for EXpack and go for Inscriptions?

How many of you guys are going to do Inscriptions?

Are there any Inscription Plans/Schematics/Patters/Recipes out now that people can pick up?

My oprc warrior is an herb/achemist and my pally is a minner/JCer.

I dont use JC anymore (i only used it to make some basic gems for my 2 horde because i got tired of buying them in AH and could never get in touch with our master JCer who has F'ing every thing from 1-375 and even Hyjal/SSO/BT gems XO)

...so I am going to give insciption a try to buff my paladin but all i see are prot and ret buffs and nothing really awesome for a holy pally.

I would go back to alchemy personally because I am always juicing and chugging pots/elixirs in raids on my pally. (he has an addiction) Plus there isnt much desirable in the tailoring profession unless you're in BT and even then its just SR and maybe some gloves from Hyjal.

if you have a second 70 with one profession slot you dont use then give them inscription because you will want tailoring again come WotlK.

Tailoring is sure to be useful come Wrath, Blizzard is being MUCH more generous about useful items sets made by crafting. However, Inscription DOES use herbalism materials, so keep that in mind. Think of Inscriptions like Enchanting or Jewelcrafting. Not EVERYONE needs the profession, long as you know one or two people with decent skill in it, you're generally all set.

Note to self: farm endless stacks of herbs for insta-money come WotLK.

Check and check.

Yeah, I hear ya on that Brox. I already have a large amount of the low level herbs saved up, enough to get me to about 100 or so. I need to farm the rest. The intent is that my DK can walk out of the starting area, and learn up to 300.

I'll be happy to put up some glyphs on the neutral AH <3 I ran a test run on the PTR, and I should be all set to hit ~350 upon 3.0.

But yes, the benefit of having the profession yourself is relatively minor--you get to replace one of your Minor Glyph slots with a fourth Major Glyph. For those that don't know, all characters get three major and three minor slots, so Inscription masters will have four major and two minor slots. We've not been informed yet whether or not there are other special goodies for picking up the profession yourself.

I wouldn't worry too much about taking it for yourself if you know someone with it =)

Ok, so when you make an inscription, it's an item that can be, say, mailed to someone? I wasn't sure if it was like enchanting, where both people would have to be present to inscribe a slot.

This bodes well for me

I have an alt gearing up for inscriptions. One of the neatest things I've seen so far is they make paper that you can enchant instead of the specific item, and that isn't BOP. So make parchment for your enchanter, enchant it, and then mail it to whomever needs the enchant.

What?! Scribes need to lose a minor glyph spot to gain a major one? Sadness... that's less cool factor. What are the minor glyphs, btw?

We don't know much about minor glyphs yet. Blizzard said that they'll mostly be cosmetic changes, or changes that make some moderately tedious skills less so. For instance, a gentleman on the test server informed me that there are two separate glyphs which alter the appearance of my Ghost Wolf form, and one that increases the duration of Blessings cast upon oneself by twenty minutes.

Honestly, when he told me about the Ghost Wolf form change, I began to doubt my ability to sacrifice one of my minor glyph slots.

Ghost Wolf form changes, huh... Any word on druid cat form changes? Is there a Cure Lock-jaw glyph?

There are several glyphs confirmed for druid form custamizability.

Ellorn, care to make a list of the herbs you used to get to ~350? It would be so helpful!

I'll add my knowledge to Opalexian's guide when I get home tonight, unless he would prefer to finish it himself. However, it looks like we're still in for an update on leveling the profession, because so far, only Druid glyphs have unique material requirements--every other class needs only one of each parchment, the very base-level ink, and one Mageroyal. I suspect that this will change by the time the patch actually arrives.

Oh no, all credit for that goes to Maithanet, I'm just a messenger ;)

Aye, I just noticed that your name wasn't the first post on that board ^^ A pre-emptive thanks to Maithanet, then, before he gets here <3

And Q/Opal is a chick ;)

I may be using Mok to powerlevel an inscriptionist, though. Seems kinda neat and I want different druid skins BAD.
