Highly detailed account of the prequisites to remaking the Scepter of the Shifting Sands.

All I can say is that this going to take a lot of freaking time.

On Twisting Nether, its going to take a while, no doubt. For more established servers, though, the hardest part might be the resource-gathering, because their raid guilds will probably breeze through the rest.

It's not totally a breeze. The first time Icecrown's raiding guilds summoned the dragon in Moonglade (the guy with the E name) it crashed the server, cause every druid in the game saw the server-wide tell of him appearing and ported to Moonglade.

Other than that...yeah, the other dragons are cake for high-high-end raiding guilds.

Eranikus? Yeah, that seemed like the hard one, although you do have to kill Nefarian, but I'm guessing, by that time, those high-end guilds will have him on farm-status.

By the looks of what we have to do just open the gates, the difficulty of the actual instances will be insane. And we aren't too far off, with guilds like RSA already having Rag under their belt. It'll just take a little extra effort than the servers that have been around longer.

Until then, I'm glad that I can actually quest in Silithus at the time. Rarely ever see another person out there, except at the Hold or at one of the Twilight camps. When the Broodlord goes down, I'm expecting to have to deal with hundreds of people there trying to farm the carapaces needed to get the reputation they need with the Brood of Nozdormu. I'd like to be a part of that, but it seems that only the high-end guilds, and in those only a few people, will be able to participate. And those rings looked so awesome, too...

Well I was helping on Suramar, and we invited the server to come and help, it was a massive effort on both sides to gather the carapasses needed (I have over 15+ hours logged as farming) and the guild decided that because we couldn't see the gates open, we should get to fight the dragon.

Well the first try was a wipe, due to massive lag, but then once people backed off, it was still laggy, my instant casts were about 5 seconds long. Very funny to say the least, (oh and I'm a priest so I was mainly healing the main tank) and just when things got good, we were in a nice groove, the big druid guy comes in and finishes the task. Funny but more lag. But once it was over the pvp began. Peaceful only for the killing of Eranikus, but still was lots of fun.

Me I'm looking forward to seeing what TN will do; if it will be another post of "Oh look what we did" or if the whole server can feel like we did it together.

Suramar, eh, Caelyn? That's my old server, actually. I was an officer in the guild Hexenhammer before it had a merger with Unforgiving. The guild still exists, actually, filled now with members who didn't want any part of the merge. Me, I just left entirely...

I just looked at the rankings on the Wow main site, and TN is ranked #112 among all servers. We're about where we ought to be, due to our server being fairly new. We're just ahead of Maelstrom, and a few spots behind Emerald Dream. Medivh has a nice lead, with my very first server, Mannoroth, in second.

Yeah we're right where I thought we'd be too. There's no way we can compete with all of the older and established servers. My previous server, Whisperwind is up there though.

We're doing our best & have started to break into BWL.

Slow going though. We still need to farm MC for a couple weeks before BWL is smooth. Unfortunately Razorgore is one of the tougher fights, and happens to be the first fight, in BWL... so it's kinda hard getting people to participate for a raid where we only MIGHT get loot.

He will go down eventually though!

Good luck on Vael after Razorgore... Man, I did that battle a few times, it was so crazy and the lag was horrible. ( this was before Blizz putting in the option to turn off the laggy magic/giant dragon breath effects off ) It's a pretty tough fight too, gotta make sure the tank's got a great hold on him cause all the dps classes are gonna be able to hit off their strongest attacks again and again.

My old guild used DKP in a special way for BWL. Since we were still working on trying to kill bosses, we gave points for just partipating for the whole event ( not sure how long Razorgore's open but Vael only gives you a hour to try to kill him before he goes to sleep ) to give people some modivation to come even if not a single epic will drop. Sure, it was like only 5 DKP or less for everyone in the raid but it worked in making people feel more sastified for breaking their armor trying to kill a boss when nothing drops.

heh thanks. = ) I put it together with a little searching and some handy cut/pasting.

As for giving DKP for attempts... we're starting that now also. Incentives for being there.

Vael actually should be pretty easy actually. Several people are reporting he's been nerfed... supposedly they cut him down to 600k HP from around 900k. They say Broodlord also only Mortal Strikes half as much.

Anyway... we'll see how things go.

Nope, the guy's still got the 900k HP. Just doesn't have the one hour timer anymore I think. He's secretly a FF7 Ultimate Weapon boss!

And yeah, Broodlord's MS are now a reasonable number of like... I dunno, 6k instead of 12k a while ago where you'd die instantly cause your head became a golfball XD

Well, now that Medivh has opened their gate, info on the loot has been flooding in, often leaving me with my mouth open. I can say that I'll be trying to go to the Ruins as much as I can when it does open.

I'm surprised by the amount of items that I could certainly get some use out of. Quite a lot of rings, neck items, and cloaks have +defense, dodge, or parry, and there are some good weapons I could use for PvP.

I especially have my eye on the Manslayer of the Qiraji, the Ancient Qiraji Ripper, and the Sandstorm Cloak.

BTW as for an update:

We've cleared all of BWL up to Chromaggus. We'll be attempting him tonight. After that it's just Nefarian, but everyone in the raid needs an Onyxia Scale Cloak in order to take him down, since you can't LOS his Shadow Flame anymore. So it may be awhile before everyone has those. I think we have somewhere in the order of about 10-15, but with only 2-3 scales per Ony kill... *shrug* Could be a couple months.

(( *shudders at the thought of having to work with ALLIANCE :P *

Zusteakai actually looks foward to working with the Alliance to destroy a common foe. I don't. Can't trust you guys..... :P))

((S'ok. More and more there are some alliance I'm finding I can't trust either.))

same for the Horde side. Some Horde guilds I wish I could donkey-kick off onto some server that condones their kind of behavior.
