History:
Maithanet Dawnbringer led an uninteresting life for four hundred and eighty seven years, happily married he never stopped to consider the world outside of his home with his wife Rho. Though she could never bare children he was a quiet happy man, preferring his life as a Priest of the Light to the locals and healing the sick. With never a bad word to say, or a back answer to give Maithanet could travel as he pleased without air of controversy or malice.
Unbeknownst to him though his wife was secretly sick, she hid the sickness from him, already well aware of it's terminal effects. Rho was a cheerful woman who believed in being the best you can be and never letting your loved ones unneedingly suffer. After being summoned back to his wife, Maithanet found her lying there, ready to die. He pleased with her to stay with him and allow him to travel and find a cure. She refused; and told him to stay with her, for she was old and happy with the life she had been given. Maithanet held her hand as she passed away, the deepest sorrow he had ever known overcoming him.
His family were a group of wanderers, loners and adventurers; only his mother and father who seemed to have unnaturally long lives stayed still in the beautiful city of Silvermoon. Maithanet decided to see the world one last time, and end his journey at Loch Modan. His family's gift was he be able to give back their lives whenever they chose, and Maithanet's grief ran so deep that he finally couldn't bring himself to live another day more. It was on that day that an object fell from the sky, crashing down into the Loch, ever curious, Maithanet used his alchemical skills to be able to travel deep under water. There he found a vessel, and upon entering saw technology the likes he had never seen before. Motors whirled and engines powered up, the ship began to fade and he was trapped inside. Dwarves, aware of the crash also investigated, but as they swam down, the water burnt and the crater was obvious but there was nothing to be seen. The object had disappeared.
Maithanet worked his way through the ship, avoiding electrical charges and other hazards finally coming to the body of a being that seemed to shine with golden light, though it was bleeding out into the air, a darkness washing over it. The melodic humming drew him nearer to the being who explained to him what had happened. The being was a Naaru named C'era. C'era was a Demon Hunter and a visionary, sent by dreams of the impending Burning Legion invasion. Now though, he was dying, and in his death he'd become a Void God. C'era, desperate to avoid this had already probed into Maithanet's mind and knew of his desire to die and offered a bargain to Maithanet - live for a few more years and fight the Burning Legion and once the battle was done, if they won, he could die in peace having aided a dying creature in his last quest. Reluctantly, Maithanet, too kind hearted to say no, agreed.
The being poured a part of his own soul into Maithanet, filling his mind with his own memories and life changing him from a Priest to something else. He was stronger and faster, more agile and less inhibited. Maithanet's features changed too, he became younger, except in his eyes, which remained looking old. Maithanet fought at the Battle of Mount Hyjal alongside Jaina Proudmoore aiding the Free Peoples. Looking at the green lush fields the Mountain, Maithanet decided to end his life again but found that no matter how hard he tried he was unable to pass on. C'era had lied to him.
Stuck in life, Maithanet attempted to kill himself in a variety of unique and interesting ways, but all wounds would heal, all scars would fade and all imperfections would mend. Trapped, Maithanet began the exploration of Kalimdor, Upon his travels he met a Tauren named Imalar Wildmane. The two travelled together before Maithanet's desire to return to Quel'thalas led them both back to the Eastern Kingdoms.
