View Full Version : Treasure Seekers - RP Raid Recruiting for T5!

Xaraphyne

We've lifted restrictions on recruiting for the time being. If you want in, now's the time!

Here's the schpiel!

http://treasureseekers.guildportal.com/

Treasure Seekers is an RP raiding coalition on Twisting Nether led by a group of officers. Each member is individually accepted and everyone is considered equals regardless of guild affiliation.

The raiding schedule is Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, at 8 in the evening server time except for Thursday raids. Those are either Late (9 server) or Early (7 server) Start to accommodate those who cannot make the usual start time. For 25-mans the Suicide Karma loot system is used.

We are currently 3/6 SSC, 3/4 TK, 2/5 MH, and 6/6 Zul'Aman with two timed chests.

Guidance is given for each person to improve their raiding skills, in a constructive and supportive environment. Harsh criticism is not tolerated but those who excel are recognized.

This raid group features semi-serious roleplaying that isn't either stressed or discouraged. Characters that aren't "supposed" to be there are conveniently overlooked (there are OOC tags in RP addons), and the general premise is that everyone is in it for the treasure, exploration, and/or adventure. "RP-friendly" folks are welcome as long as they respect roleplaying and understand how to not break immersion for others. /s and /y are the only IC channels.

Note that those who raid with Treasure Seekers are expected to stay with Treasure Seekers. People with conflicting interests or people who have a past history of jumping ship may be turned down. We may not have a guild tag, but we're a very real organization, and look for people willing to make a real commitment.

Feel free to check out our website and post on our forums!

How lenient are you guys with casual raiders? I'm not on that often since I'm leveling a toon on another server as well. Plus you know I'm geared to the teeth in holy stuff >.> but *hides and peeks up* is there a chance I can change up my spec like ret or something and play with you guys? It mostly be for fun and I will add all the tidbits to all the fights I remember to a strat discussion. Just thought I ask before doing anything hehe

I dropped an application with my rogue. I am not around enough to be a hardcore raider with you guys, but I am definitely available to come along.

My warrior also just (yesterday) hit 70, but he's no where near geared yet.

Xaraphyne
09-03-2008, 02:07 PM
No amount of attendance is mandatory, although through the Suicide/Karma system, more attendance does mean more priority on loot. But that's just for 25-mans anyway, and slotting is also tracked so that those who don't get to go as often have a better shot of getting in if too many folks sign up.

Specs we're very flexible with. Play what you want, and if you're willing to bring an unpreferred character or spec, we do have specific allowances through loot and slotting priority to show appreciation for that.

...Yeah, it sounds complicated, but unless you actually want it explained, you can just trust that the officers are always looking for the fairest and most helpful solutions. :D

Recently she has gathered many of the people she knows by word-of-mouth to explore dangerous places and take down various hoarders of loot, loosely called the Treasure Seekers (http://treasureseekers.guildportal.com/). However, she leaves much of its day to day operations to Filora and Maithanet.

Yeah, if these raids are IC and Skaf was present, Vashj and/or Kael would not be the only concern most likely. ;)

The last thing we would ever need ever is having Evanthe, Maithanet, Skafloc, and Saphiara in an IC raid.

"Everything was going perfectly. What happened that time?"

"I think Skafloc got LoS on Maith and took his shot."

"Well, what happened to the warlock tank?"

To be honest, Treasure Seekers has pleasantly surprised me. While I know the amount of easy gear out there makes some bosses trivial compared to what they used to be, we've seen a lot more in a shorter span of time than I expected -- and it's not entirely due to gear, because I've seen with my own eyes members working together outside of raids to be prepared, participating on our forums, and in our very raids paying attention exactly as they should. I really didn't think we'd down this many bosses before Wrath, and that was before our time limit got moved up so much closer because of the patch.

We've got something good here. Here's to more fun times in Burning Crusade and moving on to roflstomp new content in Wrath. :)

Another role I could potentially fill if we got more healers, though Malethia is primarily a Holy priest.

I actually like being a holy priest, it's a lot more active than being a holydin. The shadow thing is solely if needed.

The day I spec Holy again for a raid is the day Hell freezes over, Satan skates to work, Bir grows a real dick, Mortica ends up on my doorstep alongside Vilmah seeking "Sanctuary" because America has decided that really the World of Warcraft is real and George Bush is Varian Wrynn.

The day I spec Holy again is the day Evanthe and Liadain get it on and make a video of it, the day Malethia goes to a raid Ret and Abric throws up at a party again.

All in all. F off, I believe is the sentiment.

Maith? Can I borrow that spiel for the next time someone asks if I'm resto?

Please? :D

I am *so* tired of someone seeing that I'm a shaman and wanting me to run along and heal something! (note this is folks who I don't know at all randomly whispering me. Not the folks I know who already know how well I do at keeping people alive. XD )

Hell I might have a new siggy...... yup new siggy after dinner! :)

If you play a priest, paladin, shaman, or druid, you should spec to heal and heal me. If you don't want to, delete because you're worthless.

Why dont you scratch that, get on your Priest, and heal me while I do the better and more important job of tanking.

Oh wait, you do.

You don't think Abric will throw up at a party again?

I'll take that bet.

(If nothing else, he's adorable when drunk, so I win either way!)

We don't have to show this video to anyone, do we? Nope, didn't say we had to.

Well guys...

Treasure Seekers was created with a few core ideals in mind. First, that those who were in small roleplaying guilds could achieve higher levels of raiding than they could have otherwise. Second, that a fun, but progress-oriented environment would be maintained; without being "hardcore" and requiring thick skins, we would still focus on improving every member's raiding skills. Third, that a roleplaying opportunity would be provided for real in-character raiding. And last, that effective policy and leadership would be put in place so that every member was represented, and treated equally and fairly.

I think we did best on the first and last. The middle two were admittedly a little shaky. There wasn't as much guidance as I would have liked to help people become better at their class, and with more people playing top-notch we might've downed a couple more bosses. And while there was a little bit of roleplaying at times, too often people were content to chat on Vent and play around in the raid.

But on the first, we did amazing. Like I've said before, Treasure Seekers got much, much further in such a short span of time than I could have possible anticipated. So many people got to see cool areas and encounters that they otherwise probably would never have taken a real look at. To have legimately downed Morogrim, Anetheron, Solarian, FLK -- real achievements. Yeah, it wasn't Illidan or Kil'Jaeden, but it still took a concentrated effort on the part of everyone involved, and I'm proud.

And on the last, it is as always a work in progress, but I'm very happy with the things the leadership has learned and the work everyone has put in to make sure Treasure Seekers runs as smoothly as possible for everyone. With the experience we've gotten, we'll be even better come level 80 to make Treasure Seekers a healthy and effective group to raid with.

Everyone who is currently a member is invited to join us in Wrath of the Lich King raids, and at that time we'll be taking stock of our membership and officership to start accepting applications again and filling slots. Until then, friends are as always invited to /join treasureseekers in-game to hang out, and start leveling through Northrend once the expansion arrives. And hopefully when we get to level 80, you'll be joining our raids, too. :)

Xaraphyne, I'd like to track you down for a chat over vent regarding some additional formality for Raven Cross members looking to join the Treasure Seekers. What times would you be available for this?

Anytime. Although to be honest, we should probably just wait a couple months, because I won't be able to properly promise anything till I see how TS is standing.

Given the changes to the game, it probably wouldn't hurt to try raiding to see (moderately) what it's going to be like when Wrath does come out.

Particularly now since mana is no longer on an MP5 system and continuously regenerates.

I'm worried a lot of people will see this continuous regeneration rate and mistake it for increased regeneration rate. Especially since the amount of mana recovered by spirit has decreased (they edited the formula slightly).

It's better in that I don't need to wait 5 seconds in order to use anything if it's a critical situation where I've gone OOM. If a tank is dying I'd like to be able to put at least a renew on them or a pain suppression, to try and give them some buffer time while I gather up what I need for a larger heal spell.

Theoretically useful, but in practice doesn't make a damn difference. Your MP5 would have to be insane, near 1000, before a flash heal or renew to come up in a 2 second tick. Meaning you need more than that before you can take advantage of mana coming in faster than 2 second intervals. Then you need the reaction time to benefit from that extra fraction of a second you have bought.

The energy regen change helps rogues in the way you say, yes. But not mana users.

How about some form of paladin? I've got a character that I've never run most (read: any) of the level 70 dungeons on, and he just got inducted into Sanctuary.

Still gives me enough time to do something else so I can get mana back. especially in a raid scenario where I'm not the only one on MT. Pain suppression costs less than a greater heal and gives a buffer for other healers to get them back up above 50%, and now for the meantime I can cast arcane torrent (6% back instantly), Hym of Hope, Shadowfiend, etc. As opposed to waiting until the 5 second tick is over, and hope I get enough back and the tank hasn't died.

Pretty sure the Laj'entus fight would have gone a lot better, considering that my mana regen then was crap since I had to swap out for pvp gear in order to get an adequate amount of health.

But, I can't really know for certain, which is why I said it really wouldn't hurt to hold a few more raids to see how everything is going to work in Wrath. HSM sure isn't stopping, I don't see why we need to.
