Ezra Chatterton has suffered a stroke. (http://www.wowinsider.com/2008/08/21/ezra-chatterton-suffers-a-stroke/)
As you can see in the wowinsider article, he's the boy Blizz gave a Make-A-Wish to, allowing him to be a game designer for a day. He designed Ahab Wheathoof in Mulgore and has a PvP crossbow named in his honor (that my hunter proudly carries).
My heart goes out to him, and if you all get a second today, please say a prayer/think of him/etc.

My roommate and I had a conversation about this, and we both agreed that yes, it is very sad that this child is dying, but that wish sucks. If I was dying WoW would be the least of my worries...
Edit: Bring on the hate.

How is that a bad wish? Imagine you love video games, and you want to be a game designer when you grow up, only there's a chance you won't grow up, a good chance. What better than to be able to design something, your dream, for a game with ten million subscribers? Something that will be seen and appreciated by many, many people?
Beats the hell out of a shopping spree, if you ask me, which was a kid's wish I saw a couple years ago.

Yup, while the kid might be considered geeky by some... As Evanthe mentioned, it's better than a shopping spree, better than skydiving. While it's a fake world, it is something that many people will see for years.
