On August 25th, 2007... a legacy was created.

Born from just a handful of souls, this legacy proved to be a force to be reckoned with.

On August 25th, 2008... a legacy will be reborn...

From the hearts and souls of all those who have gone before us, and those who have yet to go. We pledge our swords, and talents to the defense of freedom, and democracy!

The return is close, are you ready?

Long ago a handful of souls lived in a corrupted kingdom. They slowly came to the realization that things would get no better and decided to leave. As they came across the lands of Azeroth, kingdom after kingdom seemed to be beyond redemption. As the corrupted city officials constantly did as they wished.

Not liking what they were seeing, they decided to do something about it. At the very same time, a Goblin Trade Prince, saw what was happening and offered to aid them, under a set of conditions. They must fight for him, and only him. They must fight for themselves, for their honor and freedom. They must be willing to fight alongside old enemies. They hastily accepted his terms, and immediately began to prepare for their war.

Orcs, honored and proud stood tall next to their once hated Humans. Tauren and Night Elves stood side by side, ready to fight and die for each other. Alliance and Horde races for the first time, since the Great War, had laid down their weapons against each other for a more serious and common enemy.

During this time the kingdoms of Azeroth saw a rise in rebellious activities within their walls, corrupted leaders tried, unsuccessfully to quell them. Freedom began to sprout up in places once thought lost forever.

However, this was also a time of great loss. Many souls were lost in battle, some to mortal wounds, and others to the very corruption they swore to destroy.

It wasn't long before the corrupted were forced to deal with their actions, and such were captured and killed, or were able to free themselves of the evil which had taken control of them, with the help of those who had died next to them on the battlefield.

It was too late for Zanzir, however, who had decided that he could no longer bear the responsibility of sending so many good souls to their deaths. Such the dismantling of the Cartel was ordered. Zanzir Cobbleboom, Goblin Trade Prince, could no longer call the Cartel Enforcers into battle in his name. It was his honor to have had such good people under his command, and they will never be forgotten.

It wasn't soon after this, that a few brave souls, bloodied, beaten, and tired, they never gave up hope. Hope in the freedom they fought so hard to protect. They didn't want their comrades to have died for nothing. So it was agreed, never again could they call themselves Cartel Enforcers... but, it wasn't the end of their activities.

To this day, there are many who work in the shadows, guarding the freedoms and rights of citizens of Azeroth, and now outlands. Their day is coming, are you ready?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's been a rough road, the stones that once were rugged and course are now smooth and flat from the amount of travel that has been done since everyday citizens were granted the freedoms they yearned so much for.
Those freedoms they now enjoy, did not come without a price. They were fought long and hard for. Many gave the ultimate sacrifice in order to preserve it. History itself shows just how great those people were, and how important their contributions were. Big and small, smart and not so smart, they fought for the same ideals and principles, side by side all races of Azeroth united. It sure was a sight to see.
After the dismantling of the Enforcers, a few of the ranks decided it was time to move on, to enjoy the new life they had created for themselves. Others who had nothing left, since the Officials of those corrupted kingdoms either destroyed their lives before or during their War. They yearned for a place to call home. A place that they could continue to do good.
It was during this time that a exiled Enforcer came back to them. Not much different then any of them, some shunned him, while others applauded his return. Undoubtedly, he was very influential, and posed a serious threat for anyone wishing to corrupt those under his command. There were only two kinds of people that didn't like him. Those who were power hungry, wanting what he had helped to create. The other kind who were already corrupted and didn't like what he stood for and the actions he took against them.
Many people were scared, without the help and guidance of his good friend Sowell, he could not have continued in the shadows, occasionally acting against the Enforcers, killing those who were corrupted whenever he had the opportunity. It was a difficult task, but one taken with great honor, and sacrifice. This earned him a title of traitor within the ranks of the Enforcers, before their dismantling.
Kyllavertin was met with much criticism and distrust, but he had done what no other could do. United they stood, with a common goal, and a belief in freedom. He had kept alive what so many at first thought would crumble beneath his feet. Without the help of all those who stood next to him he was nothing more then one person trying to make a difference.
He came to the now ex-Enforcers and proposed a new plan, a new strategy. How about instead of exploiting stardom and fame, to keep those who are truly evil and corrupt out of their ranks. We instead lurk in the shadows, guarding the rights of citizens without the lure of power. There will be no centralized leader, no master and no follower. The only thing there will be are the people, those still willing to fight, those still willing to make a difference.
It took a while for some of them to accept, while others threw down their swords and went back to their families. With a new sense of purpose, they began the tedious task of rebuilding the infrastructure they had, but it had to be secret, at least until now.
The name will strike fear into the hearts of the enemy, but no one person will ever be able to take credit for the actions of the whole.
Thus, the ShadowGuard was born.
The work of many does not go unnoticed, but the accomplishments of the few will always remain secret.
Everyday I watch the sun come up, I go about my routines, my day to day business. As it gets close to setting I prepare myself.
As I watch the sun set into the night, the darkness consuming the shadows... I think to myself, how unfortunate these souls will be tonight. To lose their life to a shadow, a shadow in the night.
The night consumes you all, shadows dissappear completely, hiding themselves from your vision. Everywhere you step is dangerous and potentially deadly.
It might be time, time to run away. However, in the darkness nothing is safe from us. Moving along without impedence we surround you. Unwittingly leading us to your very sanctuary, the place many of you call safe. Well fortified and impurvious to penetration from the outside, a little known fact remains...
We don't care.
Before you realize it, we are there. Completely surrounding you, inside your impregnatable walls. Your time is close. While they wait, they watch, they listen. Hearing your secrets, your weaknesses. Exploiting your honorless souls for all that they can... and when the time is right, you'll be no more.
You don't see the threat, you don't acknowledge it's exsistence. Grave mistakes you make and your life it will cost.
Fail to see the shadows in the night, and you will find yourself the same no more. You won't recognize your face, you won't even be able to feel anything. Your body will be gone, taken away in the winds of the night. Those once obvious and overlooked shadows will seek their honor. The honor they have earned, and the honor they preserve for fallen comrades.
Prepare yourselves. The world has never seen the shadows in the night, but you will be very familiar with us by sunrise.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~

I was so close, I could feel his heart beating, you could tell he was scared. He didn't know what to do, he couldn't see what was happening. The thought, the thought of not being able to see what's coming, the impending devastation you brought upon yourself.

All he had to do was lye down his arms, renounce his position, and share his food stores, food stores which he was hiding to force those around him to work. Giving only enough for them to maintain enough strength to keep going. An end to this we had to bring.

It's hard to say we just appear and disappear, we don't show ourselves, they never see us coming, and when we do strike, they never see us leave. No one ever see's us, our business is taken care of swift and quick, no loose ends, nothing to tie us to what happens...

I could smell the grains and myriad of other foods he had hidden, with my nose I could find them. I opened the stores causing the massive amount of food behind the door to come rushing out much like you see the tide coming over a small rock on the beach, completely overwhelming the rock, causing it to disappear under it's impressive power and simplicity.

I could feel the grains surrounding me, I was stuck, but thankfully I had a trick, I had my hearthstone, and this was a perfect time to employ it's power. I could feel the magic pulsing through my body and it prepared itself to release it's magic. It consumed me, completely engulfing my body, causing it to magically move me to a safe location far from prying eyes, and angry corrupt officials.

Alliance and Horde stood constant guard, and we much appreciated their assistance. It was impressive, what few cities that were good afforded us much comfort and courtesy. We were forever in their debt, much the same as they probably felt about what we had done for them. I guess we were even now. Except it was different. We didn't want recognition, we only wanted the fear that came with our name. With our abilities and cunning.

The night was full of stars, more then I had ever remembered seeing. I thought to myself, why here, why me? Why haven't I paid the ultimate price yet? To die in the name of freedom, to honor my other fallen comrades. It's not fair, it's not right. Why do I still live when I have come closer to death more then anyone that is alive or dead. The things that happened to me, if they happened to most would cause them death, yet I am still here.

I feel constant pain in my heart, but it disappears with each mission we take, and each time we succeed. I am waiting for the day we fail. The day we fail there will be no more corrupt cities to free. There will be freedom, and there will be those who will know the truth. The truth I've been hiding for the longest time now. A secret that I must keep till that day. The day I die, but as things are going that doesn't look to be anytime soon.

Another day passed, and the moon was coming up, but Cartel remnants and Black Flame personnel prepared for a war they could not possibly hope to win.

It was time for war, cold, bloody, exhausting, but none the less important in this case. Figgi defected from the Black Flame because of their corruptness. We could accept the fact that she would occasionally do harm to innocents. It wasn't as if they were much worth anything. Most of them were far from innocent in their own rights. Many were thieves, taking more then they needed, while the rest were murders or !@%*@!s.

Booty bay had once been my headquarters, now it lay dormant of the soldiers who once lined the bars and stores. Those soldiers were Cartel, and the associates and allies of the Cartel, many battles even made their way to our very home, but we still managed to defend ourselves against them.

It was difficult to leave and act as a counter weight to the Cartel in the begining, but I could see the corruption, and a few within the ranks knew what I was doing. They knew I had to act independent of them, and such I left my command to my second, Grumak. He took over and promoted Videl to his Second, and most highest advisor, much as Grumak was mine.

Grumak was my best friend, we had forged a great relationship with each other. He knew what to expect from me, and I knew what to expect from him, we barely needed to talk to each other prior to making desicions because we knew what we both wanted. It was a difficult job being Zanzir's Left Hand, but we both did it well. However, when Grumak stepped aside, for reasons I cannot discuss, he left Videl in charge.

Videl was not much for leading those into battle, she was more a strategical commander, occasionally getting her hands dirty, but occasionally left things for more capable hands. She was more politician then soldier and we all accepted that. He political ties to many in Silvermoon led to numerous gains in manpower and prestige. She was my best political adviser and very well grounded when it came to knowing what the troops wanted.

Without these two I wouldn't have been able to hold together the Cartel. Of course there was the Right hand and his followers. He was a very intricate part of the Cartel. My ideas translated into many great feats of the Cartel, but it was Sowell's knowledge of the lands that led us to taking on some very spectacular backdrops for events and battles. His strategies and mild temper and quick thinking led us to many victories in places others would have failed.

Lathai, his second in command, was a fellow Druid. We both shared some great sparring matches, very adept and quick thinking he led many of Sowell's and myself troops into battle, organizing and waiting for the opportune time to pounce. He was a force to be reckoned with. Even when he wasn't engaged as a Feral, his healing abilities were unmatched by any other Druid within the Steamwheedles knowledge.

Then there was myself. I had little patience for intolerance and corruption. I didn't like when those who joined the ranks instantly thought they were above the law, and I consistantly made desicions to remove those who would cause us great harm. Eventually, I was unable to keep pace with the massive amount of corruption that plagued the Cartel, and I was forced to abandon my roll as a secret outside commander.

Those corrupted became the Black Flame, many joining looking for the opportunities that the void created by the dismantling of the Cartel made. There are still good people however, lured by the prospects that the Cartel had established and the Black Flame now abuses. The trust will never be the same, and those who fall to the corruption will be dealt with.

War has been declared, and the lands will once again see blood spilled on their already blood soaked soils. It is sad, the corruption and eagerness to get what they want now, without regard to others.

I do not hunt, I seek, because hunting implies failure and I do not fail.
