Ok, well today is the first day I have been able to log into WoW for, well a really long time and boy was I excited to be able to take part in the War effort. To be honest, although I know most people don't like the thought of the endless grind for stuff, I am loving it. I know that when the gates are opened, I can smile and say that I know I had something to do with it.

On both my main and on my TN characters I will be puting things I know the Horde need into the BB AH just to help everyone along. Because I know that nothing but good can come from this (Or at least that is what I hope).

But anyway. I was trolling and I found this http://www.fohmembers.org/aq/contest.html I thought it was so great that I had to share it with everyone I know. :D

Hmm. so yeah, I'm done rambling, time to sleep and try and get over jet lag :(

It is a very nice initiative of that guild to make the others on their servers participate in the quests and war effort! It's just sad that even if <Fire Of Heaven> is a guild on Twisting Nether, it's probably an alliance guild. :P

I wonder if Scorned, Novus or some other Horde guild could organize something like that? I'd love to participate!

that's for the Hyjal server, but it was a great idea :)

There are a number of us doing our own individual thing to help the war effort, but nothing coordinated. This does need to change, and some discussion between the raid guilds on this server might be in order. But I will tell you that Scorned (and Novus, Infamous, etc) are very busy trying to perfect their efforts in raids, and that's not leaving a great deal of time for other things.

For my own part, there isn't a great deal that I can contribute, since I am not able to contribute leather, ore, herbs, and so on. I can't spare the bandages, because I need them for our raids.

However, I've been doing some fishing ;)

I am guessing that this server is going to be one of the last to get it done. We're ranked (at last check) at 110 or something to that effect. One of our handicaps is the fact that Blizzard gave Alliance twice as much to do as Horde. Our populations here on TN are more balanced than other servers. Its an interesting "stealth" way for Blizzard to admit that the servers are for the most part quite imbalanced, despite MANY denials of this well-known fact on their part (WoW census wasn't lying after all, eh?).

If you happen to be in a guild that has designs on actually opening the gates, then you have more motivation to get involved. However, if these raids aren't your thing, then my recommendation is this: make money. Have you seen the prices on things like runecloth of late?

Edit: Of course there are RP possibilities here, and its not all about the money or raid potential in this case. You have to get a bit creative to make something out of it...because in game terms is just another way to grind :-/

That is SO right.

I've always been a poor Miner that had even a hard time paying it's even levels' training costs...

Since patch 1.9, I passed from 30 to around 400 gold, of which I spent 150 on blues and enchants (250 left). I just do a hour a day of mining runs and sell everything on AH... KA-CHING! $_$

But ya, I'm guessing nobody on Twisting Nether will see the Gates open for a GOOD while...meanwhile Silithus has become kind of calm and it's a fun place for me to quest in. ^^

On my main server, Icecrown, the Alliance:Horde ratio is 4:1, so the big-time raiding guild horde-side is running a similar contest to help the sagging horde contributions. Suffice to say, once I read that, my little shaman mined over 400 copper bars and 200 peacebloom in one day (mostly because I focused only on mining the second half of the day).

I'm not sure how many MC-capable guilds we have on this server, but from what I see on Icecrown, you have to have guilds geared in Blackwing Lair gear to handle the big-time world bosses that come from the awe-inspiring second quest chain that deals with not only fighting incredibly hard spawned world bosses, but the dragon bosses (including Azuregos and Onyxia).

Thankfully, Blizzard has said that after a certain period of time, the game will get bored and open the gates for us, if no one's been able to make the scepter to hit the gong. It could be weeks, but it likely will be months.

After numerous gankings in Arathi, I've put helping TN with the war effort on hold so I can help Icecrown. I figure they must want the help more, since I can't keep stab-happy rogues off my back while farming raptors for their tasty meats.
