A Certain Tavern in a Certain Place..

Okay, honestly we all know it, horde cities blow for rp. And I assume both the horde and alliance have rp channel where it is a random tavern etc.

I was thinking about snagging, with help from alliance rpers -hopefully-, The large tavern in stormwind in the park area, first door on the left as a 'Sanctuary Zone' RP Tavern. As in Allies wont attack horde, Horde wont attack allies. Unless someone wants to start a drunk fist fight rp-brawl of course to spice things up occasionally.

I've already checked out the location and its quite secluded and I sat in there pretty much for an entire day and got 1 gnome mage visitor. That was it. Other than Akuje who joined me because he was after SW's flame and was in the area. It has quite a lot of seating I think I counted something like 40 chairs in there. Has a basement, a fire place.

Only problems I could see if the alliance agree to this however, is random rp-greifing raids on the place. The fact that it is IN an alliance capital which may make it difficult for the lower level horde rp-community members to get in. Although aisde from these problems I think he should maybe get a couple 'bouncers' as in 2 or 3 mages from horde and alliance at level 70 to polymorph non-fist-fighters before things get out of hand.

So reply to this with concerns comments etc and I'll see if we can't work something out I think it'd be fun honestly.

Is there any way for horde to get into this with out dragging in half the city guards? If not I don't foresee many horde making the running of the gauntlet (no pun intended) to get in and RP.

Not even going to touch the subject of the alliance folks who are all "hur hur hur looky horde!" and then you have half of stormwind camping you after the guards have killed you.

At least for a while until the local citizenry voiced their complaints and formed an eviction movement.

That's the problem, its an ALLIANCE city. No matter how many Alliance rp'ers would be content to turn a blind eye to a Horde presence inside their city (and I don't see there being all that many), the vast majority of Alliance players will not.

There is nothing wrong with Horde cities for rp. Silvermoon has inns if that's the flavor of rp you are looking for. Thunder Bluff is great for anything like a festival or meetings or story telling sessions. Orgrimmar has that entire arena which has been used many times in the past for guild meetings, councils etc, plus the Drag. Undercity has that sewer network.

Then there is always Booty Bay. There you have your rp "Sanctuary" for both factions, well except for New Years when the guards are drunk.

We partied in the Blue Recluse with Cartel's horde-side guys a few times. Its fairly quiet except for some lowbie traffic most of the time.

On top of there being TWO inns in Silvermoon, theres a whole plethera of buildings in orgimmar, and a whole area no one ever hangs out in.. even has TWO waiding pools (up by priest trainer/portal trainer/first aid guy). THunderbluff is ALWAYS good for hanging out and having a bonfire, and hell, UC might not have any inns, but Brill does! Its ONE HILL OVER. Come on now.

Well you guys defaintly aren't coming and RPing in ours with the Grim around. Thats by far a little hard to get around. Honestly the only way cross faction RP would exsist in another enemy city is if it was a low number of the opposing faction in the city. I know I cross faction RPed with the honor guard and Sacred fire by running Roth through the gauntlet to RP in said empty inn or the alley way house (if not being used for cyborz) in Stormwind. Roth as always been a cross faction RP friendly character, only cause he as a thing for human ladies, but never openly violent to the humans. (Night elves, dwarves and to some extent gnomes can kiss his arse >_> )

I be up for anything cross faction, I use to like how he had ties and connections on both sides. Was like a mini Cartel before Cartel even came. But a lot of connections broke after the honor guard made their split.

As far as cross RPing with you guys I think everytime I see you guys your afk! I've flexed infront of Heid, might have waved a few times at Fynne, and umm I've seen you Lis but not sure if I have /e anything at you. Generally I get a lot of cross faction RP by just being nice and not ganking in a ganking situation.

Well, atleast I got a reaction. xD As for people getting in without a gauntlet, very simple. We hold an alchemist hostage until he or she makes about 1000 Invisibility potions and Swiftness pots and run in that way. :>

As for the neutral location there really isnt a goblin town that has a large enough inn and then even if there was no brawls could break out do to the fact neutral guards would charge in and devour the rpers in their rp gear. Which is why I thought about that particular place because there were 0 Npcs in the place and no guard-callers patroled close enough once inside.

But heh I thought I'd throw it out there guess not. /shrug Oh well.

Find a nice house somewhere in any zone in the middle of nowhere and make it an inn :P Hell use the little one near UC along the lake where you go to kill the woman to get her wedding ring. It even has a nice dock to hang out on.

The bar in Ratchet is not that small, you could get quite a gathering there, and being the boat from BB lands there, alliance can get there without much trouble at all.

Course... I would not leave Ratchet or go outside to pee in an alleyway alone....

There aren't any guards in or around the Ratchet inn. Even though it's in a contested zone, the Booty Bay inn is safer for flagged players.

Maybe you could use the inside of a docked boat in Menethil/Theramore. Or any of the dozens of empty buildings in IF. Maybe the little alcoves in the side of Telredor or a floating island in Nagrand? Or the Sentinels' barracks in Darnassus. Or the tavern in the Caverns of Time (outside the instances). Or the lake with the friendly aviaks around above the Horde town in Terokkar. You could fish for Mr. Pinchy while you were there =)

That's all I can think of for an out-of-the-way RP event spot right now.

Speaking of 'for the Horde'. Yesterday at work, Grog found our supervisor's coffee mug (one of those travel ones) and wrote in black marker "For the Horde!" on it. Our supervisor plays Alliance, of course.

The guy ended up melting the plastic of his mug by using grafitti remover on it.
