((My wife finally got me to decide to roleplay. I can't manage to do it under Gralin for various reasons. So, this is my roleplaying character and his story. Enjoy!))

My name is Avariss Adante. I am a Kaldorei from before the time of the Great Sundering of the world. I never wanted to sit and think about how old I really was, because the age is ridiculous even by most Kaldorei standards. It had always disappointed my father, who was a Highborne sorcerer under our Lady Azshara, that I was not more adept with the magics of the well. During the time that I discovered my ability to blend in with the shadows, I met the best friend I have ever known in all of my long years.

It was during my first trial given to me by a man that called himself nothing more then “Rogue”. He had sent me out into the forest to gather a few herbs for him. The catch was the herbs were growing inside a cave, that housed a mother bear and her cubs. I was outfitted with a single bone carved dagger and was told that this was a test of my stealth abilities. When I reached the entrance of the cave, I found another Kaldorei there, under the attack of the mother bear.

I snuck behind the bear and pulled my dagger from my belt. I took a moment to find the weakest point on the bear and then plunged my dagger into the bears neck several times, until the bear finally toppled over. I then went over to the Kaldorei, that laid injured on the ground and applied some bandages to his wounds to slow the bleeding. I then picked him up and carried him to the camp that I had set up to scout the cave. I never did get those herbs.

I spent three days and nights by his side, tending to his injuries. On the fourth morning he had woken up. Startled at the fact that he was no longer at the bear cave being mauled, but that he was at my camp. He had jumped up and started waving his hands and muttering words that I did not understand. Not knowing what to do, I had blended back into the shadows, snuck-up behind him, and using the pommel of my dagger. I whacked him in the back of his head and knocked him out. I then proceeded to tie him up with some remaining bandages and gagged him, to insure when he work up, he could not attempt to do the same thing again.

I spent the rest of that day unsure what to do about the predicament that I was in. I eventually decided to wait to the next day. When I could talk to the man without worries of him using some fashion of magic against me. When he awoke the next morning, I had introduced myself to him and told him that I would remove the gag as long as he did not try to use magic. I had told him if he attempted the same thing again, his fate would be much worse then a little bump to the back of the head. The man agreed with a slight nod.

After untying the gag, the man had introduced himself as Illidan Stormrage. I had told him I would untie him if he promised me once again that he would not attack me and once again I assured him that if he attempted to, the bump from the night before would be much worse. He agreed, so I untied him. Illidan stayed true to his agreement and him and I spent the rest of that day talking.

After finding out he practiced the art of magic under the Queen Azshara much like my father. He had questioned me on why I did not to use magic myself. I told him I never really could quite get a hold of the use of the arcana. He gave me an odd look. I then proceeded to tell him about my abilities to blend in with the shadows perfectly and to the point that you could be staring right at me, not even knowing I was there. Illidan and I spent the rest of that day talking, as we made our way back home. I never did bother to ask him what he was doing at the bear cave, I had learned some years before hand to never question a magic user.

Illidan and I had become good friends over the next few years. We had spent time adventuring different places together and from time to time, he would ask me to do certain tasks for him. One day Illidan introduced to me to a priestess named Tyrande. He had told me that his brother had introduced him to her last time he was home. Actually, if I remember correctly he went into quite a bit of detail about the way she looked. Which even to this day thinking back upon that made me giggle, because he never seemed like the type to gush.

He confined it in me, that he was unsure of how to approach her, because he was afraid that his brother felt the same way. His brother was much closer to her and Illidan feared that he would never get the opportunity to try and win her affection. I suggested writing a note and told him that I would deliver it to her personally. After a bit of persuading, he finally agreed.

It took him three days to write the note, but when he was finally done, he read it aloud to me. Hearing him speak such words, even made me blush. I remember the letter clear as day.

““ To the lovely Tyrande Whisperwind,

I hope that you are well and in good sprits. I myself have been out exploring the wilds with my dear friend and companion. We have had quite the adventurous time, and hope that when I return home, that you would sit with me and hear the tails I have woven with experience.

Yet, this letter is not a warm greeting between friends… because I fear that I have fallen ill. Ill, with the thought of you. You are in my thoughts, in every step I take. Your voice is In the wind as it blows past the leaves, your smell in the many flowers I have passed by. You are in my dreams at night and my prayers at mornings first light. Yes, I am ill with the sickness of love.””

I will stop there, as just remembering it makes me uncomfortable. In any case, once he was finished, he sealed the note in an envelope and I took it to Tyrande. When I had finally reached home, I made my way to the temple to find her. She really was as beautiful as he had described her.

I waited patiently until Tyrande was alone and then I approached her. She was startled by my presence as I had removed myself from the shadows. I told her I was a friend of Illidan’s and then pulled the note out of my pocket. I presented her with the note and continued on to tell her, that Illidan had asked me to deliver it to her. She took the note from me and insisted that I sat there as she read it. As she finished reading the note, she began to blush and then picked a flower and asked me to give it to Illidan.

Before I could tell her could tell her goodbye, I saw a man starting to approach out of the corner of my eyes and vanished back into the shadows without Tyrande noticing. I stood there for a moment, without be noticed as the man approached her and began talking. There was no doubt in my mind that he must have been Illidan’s brother. Especially with the affection the two showed for each other.

I decided that I should be off and make my way back to Illidan, I traveled the rest of that morning to get back to our camp. When I finally got there, I gave him the flower Tyrande had given me to give to him and then told him about her reaction to his letter. To much of my surprise, he had a smile on his face. At that time I was then unsure if I should of told him that his brother and the woman he loved may be something more then friends already, but I decided I wouldn’t.

Through out the next several years, I continued to act as a messenger for Illidan and Tyrande. I was making trips between our home and where ever we were camped at all of the time. To bring letters and gifts back and forth between the two of them.
