View Full Version : Orcs and Blood Elves

So, I was reading over some lore recently, and a thought occurred. Perhaps the reason that the orcs accepted the Blood Elves so quickly was for the fact that the orcs knew exactly what the Blood Elves were going through. When the orcs were placed in the internment camps, they were suffering a racial withdrawal from demonic energy, and thus, when the Blood Elves came by and they were suffering from a collective withdrawal from the Sunwell being destroyed, the orcs recognized the problem and felt like they could help, and thus extended the invitation to join the Horde.

Or maybe I'm crazy.

Or both.

Actually, Beutha and Setrema had a discussion on this very topic once. Beutha is convinced that recent blood elf history and orc history has some parallels. All the belfs are missing is their "Grom Hellscream," to break them away from the fel influence. and a "Thrall" to lead them to a better life.

Maybe their "Hellscream" is in some ways Sylvanas, since she was once, a High Elf, and may be, atleast secretly, helping her now "Blood" Elven brethern to thrive.

Their "Thrall" might be the Regeant Lord, whos name I can't remember.

Actually...given her previous life as a priestess of Light, Liadrin might be the "Hellscream" figure. Obviously, it would be more symbolic in this case since the fel influence was done voluntarily instead of forced upon them.

I don't think there will be a "Thrall". Given the Prince's betrayal, I'd bet that Sin'dorei culture as a whole is going to be a little more self-determining for a little while. Each individual will have to find their own path to a better life (or continue wallowing, as it were).

I hope thrall turns out to be some kinda zombie robot that tricks the horde into going to obliteration. Then we'll see how much hes done for your kind!

Thats an arguable point I think. Voluntarily perhaps, but not done with the noblest of intentions and certainly not with all the information disclosed as to the actual intent. One could say that the orcs were duped in a similar manner when the Mannoroc's blood was sampled.

Fel green eyes is the belf outcome, green tinted skin for the orcs.

Perhaps the upcoming months will see some additions and changes to Blood Elf society as the full knowledge of Kael'Thas' betrayel becomes general knowledge.

Mechanics wise, it looks like Velen(kek) and "The Shattered Sun Offensive" is your Hellscream, and Liadrin is your Thrall..

Serverwise, It looks like HSM is going to be the hellscream of the server.. I was hoping that First Legion was gonna be the ones to save the blood elves, but at the rate we're going...

Thats right! There is an "event" associated with the Sunwell Raid completion isnt there? That may address the matter right there.

They still do not have a Hellscream, but they do have a Thrall. Why, you ask? What was Kael's whole point of leading his people to Outlands? To seek a better life without the constant worry of their addiction. Well, he's more of a Thra- because he didn't quite succeed.

Anyways, the main reason the Blood Elves got in so quickly was because of Sylvannas and the Forsaken. Trolls sensed bad mojo, Tauren smelled traces of demons on them, and they advised Thrall far away from them. But, when you finally prove to him that you are not a blundering bunch of idiots by killing Dar'Khan and getting the stamp of Sylvannas, Thrall finally lets you in. There were massive political debates on the matter of accepting the Blood Elves, too. Sylvannas sided with them all the way, while Thrall had to remain neutral.

Kinda moot, since the real king's gotten his memory back and is on his way back to Stormwind.

We shall see, Blizzard hasn't quite said that comic is canon yet.

There is but one Hellscream, and Thrall is his prophet.

Um, yeah, it is. Lo'Gosh/Varian Wrynn makes an appearance in Northrend for WotLK.

Actually, Prophecy has already Foretold that Thrall will die.

Not with Axe in Hand, or by sword in Battle.

But with a knife in his back.

Ooh, where does it say that? I assume it has something to do with the Shattered Hand.

It's part of a rogue quest (http://www.wowwiki.com/Quest:Wrenix_of_Ratchet) in Orgrimmar, but it's little more than the insane rambling of a troll.
