AoC - game fun, forums suck

By Crom, I thought WoW's general forum was bad, but AoC's makes me want to tear my eyes out. So much for a more "mature" posting community.

Yeah, they are absolutely terrible. Scary thing is that some people read the official forums first to "get a feel" of how the game is before deciding to purchase.. Ungood. :(

Thought they opened them back up... Good call on Funcoms part then. The amount of venom and hostility flowing through those forums make you think that the immature players from WoW migrated to AoC.

You know, I've not been to the forums yet, but I was there for the birth of a most unfortunate monicker for the Stygians. Somewhere, somehow, soneone asked a GM if it was alright to call the Stygians "Styggers." ....Why?

Someone calls my character that and they will get a lightning bolt up their arse. Sounds like something a Cimmerian would invent, anyway.

I decided to visit the web page and forums today, for the first time ever.

I went to the class forums, Barbarian. I found a discussion of how Conan must have hacked, and then the discussion turned into something about Chuck Norris, and then I left the forums. :D

Picture the official WoW forums, and put twice the number of people in there with half the maturity level...and all of them angry for some reason. Thats the AoC forums. I stay far away from that mess. For the most part, I rarely see that kind of behavior in game. I guess all those idiots are posting instead of playing.

Also turn off ooc channel every time you log in the game. Good for your mental health.

I kinda like the OOC channel. Its like Barrens chat, but without the intelligence. Its fun to watch people QQing at each other or bragging about ganking a "noob" ten levels lower than them while I'm grinding. And the OOC channel, as bad as it is, is still not nearly as bad as the forums.
