Faelen's first AoC RP event

So, for many months now (maybe years) i've been thinking and thinking... and now that it's finally here... I want to do an RP event (one of the first!) in the history of Age of Conan. Now, the trick is figuring out just exactly what to have it about. *grins*

I'd probably start with having it in a major town/city, to give lower levels a chance to attend, and also since some of us 'newbies' aren't used to some of these game controls yet. hehe. Although I'm posting this here not only to share with you my plans, but to get some ideas from you all on what exactly I should do.

As an additional note, my character (Keetrei, Stygian Herald of Xotli) is an archaic researcher, so his main goal is to study ancient runes, relics, and texts. He's a bit of a poet/artist, too. Part of my event could involve lore/talking of such things, or perhaps have gatherings of what each participant to the event discover in their journeys. Could be a number of things. One thing I WILL get going, eventually, is a weekly/bi-weekly player-led market for trading and crafting of wares. It is something I've always wanted to do on WoW, but the game was not really designed for such a thing. Give me more ideas! Feed my event hunger and you will be granted treasures of RP and riches of lore! :D

Perhaps this could be the start of a TNG guild, Faelen. I know Karkarov is searching for a guild, and I will be too as soon as the servers come back up. Heres a link to the post discussing it.

And I know I'm not only searching for a guild, really, but role playing opportunities! xD I haven't found any one to RP with yet, even though I walk around Tortage when I'm there (Yes I'm still in Tortage, only level 8) but one can only hope!

Once you get out of Tortage, there is RP everywhere. I run into people while questing all the time, and when you get to Old Tarantia its a good hub of roleplaying.


The inn at Khemi would also be a good place. Its twice the size of the inn in Silvermoon put together, and as I was scouting today for guild HQ's I thought it might be a good place. Khemi is located in the middle of a shipping district with access to Aquilonia and Cimmeria by docks located at the edge of the city.

my advice... dont do it in the noble district of tarantia... It can be a tough place. old tarantia auction house would be nice at least so long as the traders stay down.

I loved it!! I especially loved the random dudes that came in and ended up royally pissing off Nihna. I was like "OMG PVP target.. must lvl and STAB!!"

Yeah, I've never seen those guys before in my life. See what I meant now though? Once you leave the Tortage area, RP is everywhere. Hell, I met the guy I was with last night out in the middle of the desert in a PuG with a third RPer. :)

Awwwesooooome...!! I wanna go back and RP so badz!! I'm even inspired to do some writing! Mayhaps our guild should come up with a TNG-like website? Or just use this area, maybe, for RP stories and what-not?

Why not? Just post stories here I'd guess. I'd love to see what you write. And OMG you were flipping Ghita out last night. I thought for sure I was going to see a fight. If we had been in a tavern instead of an inn I might have (As taverns are PVP).

Bwahaha!! Nihna needs to be leveled so I can go out and slit some big thick man-throats..

Yeah. Another good thing is that once you hit 20, leveling seems to go a bit faster. You can hit all the zones now, so questing is pretty easy.

Also, a tip to avoid getting camped if you run into asshats....Each zone is instanced. At the top right of your screen next to the clock is a tiny arrow. That arrow can be used to put you in a different instance of the same zone, which is why you and I couldn't see each other the other night. We were in the same place, but in different zones. Its really good for escaping level 40 campers that hang out in the 20's area.
