View Full Version : The Gathering - Sanctuary Rp (pvp) (Time changed to Fri)

Sanctuary will be kicking off a lighthearted and fairly disorganised Rp-PvP (hoping for more Rp, and PvP only if it goes south) event this coming FRIDAY the 30tht of JUNE at 8pm in the evening, server time, for all levels above L5 (pref L10).

Here is the basic outline. A group of low levels will be escorted by high levels into areas they would normally have trouble entering at their levels. The objective? To gather as many resources as they can to up their trade and gathering skills, as well as having a chance to make a few new friends and a few laughs. Get to know some Rpers and possibly those who have never Rped before can give things a shot.

Herpalists/Alchemists, skinners/leatherworkers and miners/BS/Engies, this is for you. We'll be hitting places like Hillsbrad, Arathi Highlands and possibly if we're feeling brave, Ganklethorn (Stranglethorn Vale). It should be a great opportunity to boost your trade and gathering skills while offering a chance to meet new people and RP with everyone.

Raid or party chat will be In character only. This is an RP event. Currently we're seeking both high levels to supplement our defense crew, and lowbies that want to come along.

Please note to the higher levels, this is not a gankfest. We will not be attacking Alliance unless they threaten us first.

Everyone is asked to behave themselves in a mature and sportsmanlike manner both IC and OOC. General rule of thumb, be nice. If you roleplay a character who has to be antisocial and negative, he should find himself a reason to be sociable and positive during that time if you want to come along.

Please contact Grisch or any other member of Sanctuary as soon as possible if you wish to involve either yourself or your guild.

EDIT: Note the time change to Friday 8pm so as not to conflict with the MC raid.

I'm not sure what a Herpalist is, but it sounds like you should take them to a priest, not take them on an adventure.

I'll pass this on to my guildies. I know a few who'd be interested.

Intentional misspelling. It's a warcraft injoke related to a fairly famous post I was hoping someone might catch. Damnit, I hate having to explain my jokes.. Better that than look like an illiterate idiot.

So.... back on the topic.

There's a Molten Core run that night.

*waits for Brakogar's icy glare to melt away*

There's a ton of folks that won't be going to the Core run. I know a few folks who'd rather take their alts on a run like this than go through the eye-bleeding madness of the Core. I'll send some your way.

Not a cure per se, more a prevention.. Power Word: Shield has many uses, some not obvious..

On topic. I would LOVE to attend this, however I am hosting some friends for a BBQ. Chances are I will miss it. excellent idea though..

Ok, a large bunch of people I've spoken to so far have said they can't make it due to an MC run. I'm looking at changing this to the friday night. More later.

If you move it to Friday Night I might be able to help out. I work Saturday Nights so no WoW Saturday Nights for me.

I should be there. May have to have someone jab me while I'm ingame to remind me before it starts, but I'll gladly show up if I remember.

I'll bring my awesomeness to protect and impress the lowbies.

Right, the meeting place for this, if you want to hook up will be the Undercity Zeppelin tower at around 8pm tonight. Just drop me a whisper and I'll invite you to the raid.

As soon as it looks like we have most of the people who intend to come along, sorted out and ready, we will be proceeding down through silverpine forest and into Hillsbrad, past the Sepulchre. Gathering herbs, ore and leather along the way.

If you get there late and have brought beer and pizza to apease me, you can just give me a whisper and I'll invite so you can hook up with me.

I'll also be spamming the event out on the Looking For Group channel a few times as well.

See you there.

As much as I would like to meet with you goodly folk there at the Zep tower, I fear that might cause some commotion.

I will most likely catch up with you along the road in Hillsbrad or Silverpine. Just look for the wayward wanderer in the bright azure hoody.. merrily picking wildflowers.. with his PW:shield flashed up..

Oh, do me a favour all you Alliance that are sympathetic to our cause. Please don't broadcast our location to anyone you don't know directly.

From Vertas post on the main forums, I've got a nasty feeling we might have a group of Alliance pitch up for the sole purpose of ganking our bunch. While I enjoy PvP, and don't object to the odd bit of circumstancial resistance we might meet, an organised force there for the sole reason of ganking us will pretty much ruin the event.

For the lowbies who come along, it will be fairly unpleasant making 200 graveyard runs as well.

Vertas, doesn't she have anything better to do than be a nuisance all the time?

Hifazat
06-30-2006, 09:28 AM
Now Vertas has never been a nuisance. She or he is the one person I know who has always helped lowbie deal with Horde Gankers. I remember when I played Sipah, she was always giving me a helping hand, even now you randomly whisper her that the horde are camping you and she will be there in a flash.

Can't think of any alliance member RP or non-RP who actually claim to do that.

I won't dispute that. You obviously speak from experience. But she also has no problem taking the initiative and doing some lowbie ganking of her very own. I have friends playing Horde who have had headaches with her numerous times. Not that they complained overly much, they know the PvP score.

She has a dark side to her that one..

Its just that if Grisch's suspicions are correct, this would be a griefing session, no doubt about it. There is no logical reason for her to be hanging around Silverpine , unless its to help out should Grisch's group start ganking lowbies.

I don't think that their plan.. (I could be wrong, but then I will find that out first hand I guess..)

Hifazat

But then nouri that is the nature of a PVP server. I gank all the time. So does every single horde here. They camp nessingway, they camp Darkshire. Its standard for a PVP server.

I am just glad that someone on the alliance side gives back as good as we get it.

As for the event, I know I will be meta-gaming and staying away. Others may not. Plus if you are in Hillsbrad at any time of the day you will be attacked. I was always attacked there. That is the nature of Hillsbrad.

Noury
06-30-2006, 11:12 AM
All true. No arguement here. Random ganking and such doesn't bother me. I just don't like seeing lowbie events torn apart for no concievable reason other than its "fun".

If she just waded through them once over and moved along, I don't think Grisch or the rest would harp over it too much. But a sustained organized assault by a bunch of high levels? Thats a bit much.

As it is.. Nouri himself might have some problems containing himself if he encounters some equivalent levelled Forsaken.. He's a bit biased towards them..

Then again.. maybe this will help his "enlightenment"..

Well 'The Gathering' had a fairly decent turnout on Friday. We seemed to be a bit top-heavy when it came to levels, ending up with a lot of L60s, and not that many lowbies who needed to gather.

I did however learn a lot about planning stuff, and in the future, I know what type of things to organise ahead of time, and what to expect. I'm thinking of making this a semi-regular event, but perhaps on a smaller scale.

Thanks muchly to all those who came along. I do hope you had fun.

Thank you also to Nouri for representing the Alliance in our little expedition. I heard Pythre yelling at some point, but didn't see any sign of the little critter.

My sincerest apologies to you Nouri for the attack/s on your person. I had my hands fairly full trying to direct the large meandering machine that is a raidgroup of horde. The guildmate who attacked you has been severely reprimanded. Sadly there is nothing I can do about any others, not of Sanctuary who attacked.

((BTW: In the future, don't 'target' Contaminator so much. He has a mod that tells him when someone is targetting him, and you targetted him too much, forcing him to kill you. Again, my appologies that I didn't inform you of this potential hazard before you arrived.))

All in all, it provided a lot of valuable experience for myself and my guildmates on running events, and I hope to use some of these lessons in our future events.

I dont think it was that bad, nouri only died one time I think. When the original attack occured I saved him from the evil grey bear that was killing him while you paddled the misbehaving sanctuary member so Nouri was scratched and bruised but otherwise ok.

So, an 'event' ostensibly to help lesser experienced Horde members level their gathering professions instead became a raid consisting of mainly 60s in an area populated mainly by mid 20s-30s?

Methinks Grisch doth protest too much :P

Then he might want to check his mod to see if its working properly, because I didn't target him at all that I knew of. At least not until after I ressurected after he had stealthed, sapped then backstabbed me. Then I certainly did target him, and threw everything I had against him. which he resisted of course.. Hehe, I was like an irate gnat!

Saving me?!! I had that bear under positive control at all times I will have you know! Save me..Bah! That bear was goulash!.. All you did was spare me a wee bit O' mana

Oh and I'm sorry I feared Brakogar into that group of spiders.. but you were all crowding me a bit there when we first met.. (at least I think it was Brak.. two definitely got feared, the rest of you just sort of shrugged..)

Then there was that lvl 23 undead priest who tossed a Devouring Plague at me, I don't think he was in your group. He was lucky you intervened on his behalf. I was just about to melt his face!..

The only person who has any right to complain is me, when three hard core serious alliance gamers who only fight honorably and fair killed me while I was afk then ran away when I came back. I guess the idea of fighting someone who was actually going to hit back seemed unfair and made me overpowered. They didnt get away before all of them died at least once though.
