We have our PvP Reverse Ganking Thread, but how about threads where your allies almost ganked you? I intend for this to be a humorous thread of accidental idiocy and not malicious intent to grief the people on your faction...so feel free to add your stories!

This morning my 23 Night Elf Priest was hunting gnolls in the Wetlands near Dun Algaz where every Night Elf that wishes to run to Ironforge and Stormwind has to pass. In the midst of fighting a mob, I see this level 10 Night Elf Rogue run behind me and soon after that came a gnoll. By the time I finished off my mob to turn and assist her, she was dead...so I took vengeance by killing the Gnoll.

I resurrected her, healed her, and buffed her up. Then I did my customary bow and she thanked me. I go back to killing mobs. As I battle one, she seems to try to return the favor of helping and backstabs the mob. It's only 7-8 levels higher, she can do something...right?

Like use her incredible aggro radius with her low level to attract another gnoll and a slime. In the ensuing battle, she ends up dying while I barely manage to kill all three mobs. I res her again, heal her again, and then rest up. I go back to killing mobs. She tries to help me again. Attracts another gnoll...and I kill them both without her dying. By this time, I was like "Be careful, every gnoll out here seems attracted to you." Or..."(You have a huge aggro radius!)". Getting the hint, she simply turns and runs for Dun Algaz and I'm left shaking my head.

Ah...good intentions...

Yeah.. the other day, I was bored, so I offered to take a couple of lowbies through the deadmines... apparently this one rogue, though, was really new and didn't understand the concept of being escorted through an instance... he kept trying to pull mobs himself, kept doing his darndest to dish out his max dps to "help" me out. Me and the other guy who was with us kept trying to tell him to stop attacking, because i can't keep up with the ones he steals aggro on... but no, he insisted that "oh don't worry, it's alright". (He was level 17).

Well, we get to the smelting room, and so far he's "holding his own", but then he goes and starts taking on one of the craftsmen... the guys that stand there and shoot while sending out little robots. He pulls nearly every goblin in the room. He dies of course, while the other guy was smart enough to have stayed up at the top of the ramp and out of combat. I can't take on a whole room of these guys, so I run up the ramp a bit and FD.

He runs back, and i'm like... you idiot, i told you so. No more fighting for you. This nub though is still like... no, it's really ok, i'm sorry, i just screwed that one up, i'll be more careful. I'm about to say screw this and kick him, but i decide to give him one more chance. He shapes up a bit, doesn't pull guys or take much aggro that he can't handle, until we get up to the platform next to the top deck of the ship.

I tell them both to get as far over to the side as they can so they don't aggro greenskin yet, the other guy obeys, but stupid rogue says "ok" then just goes into stealth, right next to the deck. Greenskin, of course, sees him as though he had a neon sign over his head, gets horny for a little bit of orc meat, and comes running over, also pulling all the other pirates left on the platform that I hadn't killed yet. I take them out, but the rogue dies. It took every last ounce of self control i had to not just scream and kick him out, but i figured... we're almost done... just let him get a chance at van cleef, then we'll be done.

We finished the rest relatively without incident, fortunately, and i just had to kinda shake my head and chalk it up as a good test of patience. =\
