Dear Diary,

I'm not sure how much I will write here, but I feel it is best to keep records so that I may look back upon them.

I'll start by telling you about myself.

My name is Jhonn Hardwell. I am the only child of Maximillion and Ghita Hardwell, who come from a long line of Iron Ore merchants. I suppose you could say I had a typical childhood. I was not spoiled, and had an average life with average friends. All that changed one fateful day twenty years ago.

I was an adult, but still a bit naive to the ways of the world. One day I decided it was time to venture out and see what adventures life had in store for me. I went to a tavern in Southern Azeroth for a night of wine and women....The next thing I knew I awoke in the bowels of a ship, chained to the wall.

I was frightened beyond belief. The ship was disgusting...Rats in the brig...No sign of a toilet other than a small mat of hay. My only view was out of a porthole, where I could see a vast expanse of ocean.

My first communication on the ship was a female troll named Jin'laa. She came to me...tended to me. Made me feel a bit better even when she fed me what I can only describe as slop.

The ship was called "The Black Razor." It was a pirate ship, to be sure, but was also a sanctuary for women. There were no other men on the ship, and Jin'Laa confided in me that I had been brought on board to serve the women as an object of pleasure. I was a slave.

Over the next twenty years I served the crew of the Black Razor. I gave them pleasure when they demanded it, and I also learned the finer points of working a ship. I learned to cook, clean, tie ropes, oil weapons...Everything. I also entertained them. Several of the women played instruments, and I was commanded to sing for them on a regular basis. They called me "The Chest" due to my ability to hold a sustaining note for long periods of time....among other things.

Every day that passed, I was sure would be my last. They often threatened me, and told me that the moment I stopped pleasing them that I would be thrown overboard as shark bait.

It was only a week ago that I got my freedom. The captain of the Black Razor decided to retire...and her replacement was less than happy with having a man on the ship. She felt a bit of competition I suppose, and ordered me killed. But the crew begged her to spare me, and so out of honor to her crew, she did just that. I was left ashore in Northeastern Quel'thalas, near the border of Eversong Woods.

I ventured to Silvermoon, looking for my friends and family. They had all been taken by the Scourge. Alone, I went to the first place I could think of to get money....The bank. I was given a modest job, and I do it well.

I am also a loyalist. I think Prince Kael'thas has good ideas for our people. I will find others who think this way and aid them however I can.

Til next time...

~Jhonn
