If Tauren in WoW looked like this, I would cease making cow jokes...

I think some of those skulls are children's.

Well played, good cow. Well played.

Other than that, there is no reason why you couldn't do a Tauren Warrior with the concept of "Rampaging Bull" and basically have that.

Beastmen = AWESOME.

Vampire Counts are still my favorite, though.

I'd roll beastman in a flash. I don't care what it is, that picture and that name is all I need to know.

I reiterate, once again: Warhammer lore 25 years old. Warcraft lore 14 years old and originally licensed as a Warhammer game. Games Workshop didn't like the way the original game was shaping up and so they pulled out of the deal. Blizzard made only cosmetic tweaks and sold the game as it was.

Warhammer = not a copy of WoW. Wow = clone of Warhammer.

...and I still like Warcraft better.

And that is because you have not gotten into Warhammer yet... I've barely touched it and I'm already LOVING the stability compared to WoW...

Not to mention the story is a hell of a lot better (inspired greatly by great fantasy universes like Lord of the Rings) and with 40k being 10x better than Starcraft (on second thought... 40kx better than starcraft... thus the name)

Saying ones better than the other is kinda childish if someone just perfers one over the other.

They both have massive strengths, as well as weaknesses in their lore (I wont bother getting into gameplay), I personally love both Warcraft, Starcraft, Warhammer, and Warhammer 40k. I got into them both at the same time actually, and love every little bit about it.

Regardless of Swerto's comments, WoW is still better because the lore is not blunt, all-revealing and final. Warcraft lore actually requires that the player use the rare little ability of the human brain called THOUGHT *gasps* in order to fill in the gaps. I despise lore that tells you everything in the beginning. I like to fill in the gaps myself and debate with others on the issue. Thinking, contrary to popular opinion, can be fun!

...and 40k lore is just as bad as WAR lore, but the game looked, and in the end will be, more fun. Personally, I loved the gameplay of DoW and still do, and I say the same about Starcraft. It may be ten years old, but the gameplay is still fun and more balanced than any other RTS out there, including DoW, but I love them both all the same.

Personally, I'm glad Games Workshop let Blizzard have the franchises because I love them as a developer and I love the lore they came up with. It is refreshing for once to see someone portray the Orcs to be good (somewhat) and the [high] elves to be evil (somewhat). Both games use worn out, run-of-the-mill races and basic backstories, but I like what Blizzard did with them more than I like Warhammer. It's my decision, like it or not.

You can use ye olde addages about how Warhammer is twenty years old, but that doesn't make the lore better. Tolkien's lore is eighty-ish and I DESPISE it! Hobbits are the LAMEST race ever. >.< But I digress.

My final opinion:

Warhammer lore < Warcraft lore

40k lore < Starcraft lore

Warhammer: Age of Reckoning = fail

Dawn of War and Starcraft = win

Like it or not.

Regardless of Ulroci's opinion, Warhammer is still better than Warcraft because the lore is brutal, ruthless, and intricate. Warcraft lore changes to suit the whining masses and is a far departure from its original (the best), while Warhammer requires the player to actually PLAY *gasp!* to shape the story. Deep, mature storylines, contrary to popular thought, can be fun!

It may be ten years old, but the gameplay is still fun and more balanced than any other RTS out there, excluding DoW, but I love them both all the same.

Personally I'm glad Games Workshop let Blizzard have the franchise because it has made me realize how stale Warcraft has become. It's refreshing to see the Orcs portrayed as an actual machine of war rather than a bunch of peace-loving hippies. Both games use worn out, run-of-the-mill races and basic backstories, but I like what Warhammer did with them more than I like Warcraft. It's my decision, like it or not.

My final opinion:

Warhammer lore > Warcraft lore

40k lore > Starcraft lore

Warhammer: Age of Reckoning = Brutal win

Dawn of War and Starcraft = Win....mostly Dawn of War, though.

Like it or not.

Regardless of Fafnir's opinion, Pirates are still better than Ninjas because the pirate is brutal, ruthless, and intricate. Ninjas change to hide amongst the whining masses and are a far departure from its original (Samurai), while Pirates requires the swashbuckler to actually fight *gasp!* to hoard the booty. Deep, mature physiques, contrary to popular thought, can be fun!

...and being a Sailor is just as badass as being a Pirate, and the ship looks and will be just as fun. Personally, I loved the job of sailing and still do, and I say the same about swashbuckling. It may be 300 years old, but the commandeering is still fun and more balanced than any other trade out there, excluding the Navy, but I love them both all the same.

Personally I'm glad the British let the U.S. have Sea Control because it has made me realize how stale piracy has become. It's refreshing to see sailors portrayed as an actual machine of war rather than a bunch of peace-loving hippies. Both trades use worn out, run-of-the-mill catchphrases and basic backstories, but I like what Pirates did with them more than I like the NAvy. It's my decision, like it or not.

You can use ye olde addages about how Piracy is 300 years old, and that just makes it all the better. SIr Francis Drake is 200-ish and I DESPISE him! The British are the LAMEST race ever. But I digress. (I agree with you here, but I refuse to type the scrunchy face thing.)

My final opinion:

Pirates > Ninja

U.S. > Britain

Accelerate Your Life = Brutally dishonest

Carriers and Submarines = Win....mostly Carriers, though.

Like it or not.

(Copypasta is the sincerest form of flattery.)

I prefer WoW orcs to Warhammer orcs.. brains and ideas FTW. Everything else is subjective. I hate Warhammer, and I always will. Not because the stories or the writing is bad, but because my ex boyfriend had me sit in Games Workshop for HOURS while he was playing Warhammer, and I grew to detest the franchise. Even after painting my own dark elf army, I still hate the franchise. I only want this game to do well so Noj will get a bonus, but seriously, fuck Warhammer. There were men at the store, playing in capes. And not good ones, either. Shiny crushed velvet ones.

If vil hates it she shouldn't play. She won't get a fraction of a cent back from Noj, for her investment, and the reasons she's giving for hating the series are ostensibly the same reasons she's getting WAR.

Your Anger at this game confuses me.

My Friend made playing Halo Pure Ass, cause when I won, he threw a tantrum. He was 19.

I still play halo with my friends, cause its fun.

If you really hate it that much then don;t play it.

If you just hate the company, you can still play an enjoy the game

I wish I could getin, just to see how Marauders play...

But yeah, your dissent seemed to stretch through the individual game itself.

Hell, There are a few franchises, even consoles I hate, but I admit , some games are fun. See Devil May Cry.

Also, Sea Turtles

Picked up a pre-order collectors edition yesterday while getting my comp looked at!

You only get into the open beta/early launch when you buy the pre-order.

For the beta going on now, yeah, there's only one server.

I still don't see it as very fair as saying one lore is better than the other. Each are of their own flavor. And at this point, I don't feel the arguement of WoW being a clone of the original Warhammer game it was once based on, because of how its developed.

Everyones gonna like different games, for different reasons. Someone might like Warhammer cause its more bloody, mature and slightly more developed. People might like Warcraft cause of its own large groups to pick as their own to love, the bright colors of the art, and the interesting twists on classical fantasy lore. Or, some people might not like a games lore cause a nasty ex-boyfriend hogged his time at a store. *coughVilmahcough*

Both have their positives, and their negatives.
