RvR explanation (http://youtube.com/watch?v=eLM5JbgXnFY)
OH EM GE
Seriously, world PvP that MATTERS. My question is that when you own enemy territories, how does that affect their pve areas? Does it spawn Greenskin Npcs in a dwarf zone that make it more difficult for dwarves to keep going?
This has seriously made me move closer to my "uninstall WoW" button, but this will not happen until I've tested out the game myself and decided "I'm never touching WoW again!"
Who else is psyched about the RvR system? What do you like most about it?
I like that we actually have a reason to attack the enemy city, other than that it's the enemies, and a reason to participate in RvR at a low level (it helps the higher ups!) And also I enjoy the fact that RvR will gain experience (yay no twinks!)

You should also consider that WAR isn't going to be out for another 6 months before you push that "Uninstal WoW" button.

The keep system is pretty exciting for me, and one of the reasons I've considered trying to get a bigger guild formed so we can keep people off our lawns.

Well that's another thing, you won't have to worry about having a giant guild, guilds will be working together whether they want to or not to defend these because these decide whether or not you can win the enemy cities, etc. Victories help the entire faction you're fighting for, whereas just sitting in PVE til you level up to max will get you nothing but exp, no victory points -le sigh- I will laugh at all those who go that way.

Yeah, but there's talk of your guild banner flying from the ramparts when you capture a keep, and I want it to be -our- keep.

You'll probably also be edified by this one (http://www.tentonhammer.com/node/30169). It's a little more dry than the others, but the raw info is EXCELLENT!

You can also carry a guild banner into combat that provides a buff in a certain radius for your guildmates. I think you have be given permission to carry the banner from a guild leader and you end up with a weak attack using the staff of the banner. Pretty exciting though.
Oh and if capture a enemy cities King, he provides a buff for all of your realmmates as long as you can hold him. Much like the Relics in DAoC.
They think it will be at least a year after release before anyone captures a King.

I believe the banner is something that can be captured, too. Or at least there was some talk of that early on.

I don't think the Keep-Banner thing will work. I mean, sure, it gives you this illusion of guild-glory, but practicality severs it. What Guild Banner will rise if just a ragtag group of mercenaries all belonging to different armies makes the capture?

Well, he-who-pisses-in-cheerios, I imagine they could just raise an "Order," banner if there isn't a guild majority present at the capture.

In DAoC at the end of a succesful Keep Siege- if 1 particular guild lead the charge they might take control OR sometimes if you were moving on a campaign taking multiple keeps- the group leader/people would ask- okay- who's taking this keep? But - yeah- with the mass appeal of MMORPGs now- who knows- people mughty not be as... courteous anymore.
Size of a Guild will be a question to holding a Keep- or it might- Depending upon how they do it- Does holding a Keep cost Guild "points" or Guild "gold"?
And yes, Diomades, I watched Jeff Hickman talking about banner capture just the other day- you hang that guilds banner on your wall with the others. HMwha ha ha ha...
I will eat giant peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches stuffed with gooey goodness, letting it explode in my hands and mouth as I use the captured guild banner for a napkin! I will be a most evil Magus!

I think the keep system is fuggin awesome, seriously it makes me instantly think of planetside (taking bases to sanctuary lock one of the other two sides) just this time you can GO INTO THEIR HOME CITY AND FUCKING KILL THEM ALL

I mean, I'm all for the idea really because I know about the Psychology of Humanity and "Ownership"; Having something that is yours, that personifies possession. You will fight harder to defend something if you are personally linked to it on a more individual level. I mean, who cares about "sides" when it's your own actual tag that you're fighting for? In "sides" you are anonymous. No one will remember if you fought or not, or what you did. However, if that was your personal colors being burned down, then you have a shame on your shoulders for it.. a veritable stigma. People will take things more personally for it, and thus they will, in less words, care more about it.
Adds a lil' bit o' meaning.
