Things in wow that you love. A takeoff from the roll alliance thread. (yes im bored)

My favorites:

Zones (in order you would go through them while leveling up):

-Orc/Troll Vally of Trials (if only for lazy peons)
-Elwynn/Tirisfal Glades
-Silverpine
-Duskwood

past this point it all kind of starts to blend together no matter your race...
But I did like the Plaguelands quests once you get there... Argent Dawn/Scarlet Crusade stuff is always fun.

-STV (piracy! cant go wrong, oh and pvp begins (ok learning to dodge skull level opponents heh)

Enemy Factions: Defias/Anything in Duskwood/Scarlet Crusade

Class quests: I love the warlock quests (horde, I dont know them as alliance)... I wish rogue had this many class quests. Alliance side, I suppose the rogue ones were pretty good... SI:7 was fun, oh and druid quests, those were pretty fun.

Profession quests: Fishing was great, but the rest of the fishing grind sucks!

I loved the Onyxia stuff, the alliance side of those were really fun, but even just going there to kill her was always so awesome.

zones I never really enjoyed:

Thousand Needles, Felwood, Darkshore, That zone Dire Maul is in..., That zone Mauradon (spelling? I hate it. hate hate!) is in...

Instances I HATE:

Dire Maul, Uldaman, Mauradon

You cannot say that if you are Horde, especially old school Horde that had to track down Rexxar, who could be wandering anywhere from Feralas to Stonetalon.

Worst quest chain ever.

I love Ironforge.

It's always been my very favorite city, and the first thing I show to anyone that's unfamiliar with WoW that comes to my home (yes this happens a lot).

Off the top of my head...

- Music in the Draenei lands
- All the little in-jokes with NPC's and towns. (Too numerous to name. Toshley's Station comes to mind.)
- That first step through the dark portal when BC launched and then flying over the big battle to your starting outland town. That was epic.
- Deadmines. My first ever instance and it felt so epic at the time to my puny little level 18 rogue. I think I ran it 5 or 6 times before I outleveled it. It's still fun, too. Sometimes I'll just run through it by myself for fun.
- Milhouse Manastorm. 'nuff said. ("I'm gonna light you up, sweet cheeks!")

Agreed... that did suck, "rexxar spotted in the north! lawl.... just kidding... "

I ended up bribing lowbies with 5g to the first person that spotted him and got me to him.

Alliance side the onyxia stuff was fun.

And yes Kaldore, Ironforge is pretty epic.... I do love it. just hate the lag I used to get there when I played my alliance on a different server.

Stormwind is cool, for the bridge/statues going in and the music... love that too very epic.

I love all the secret spots, and hate Blizz for patching them out. On top of Orgrimmar, Under Orgrimmar. Emerald Dream (yes it used to be possible to get there on a live server) the troll party in Winterspring, the Ironforge Airport, the farms above the Wetlands, sneaking into Caverns of Time before it opened, Hyjal, the tunnel to nowhere, the top of Ironforge mountain, the house south of Silithus, Newman's Landing, the old secret Outland test area under Deadmines, the Master's Cellar is one of my FAVORITES, especially the room of upside-down sinners. I think we should make a special club for people who have actually been to Old Ironforge in-game.

I'm still trying to find a way into Azshara Crater (not the BG, thats nowhere in live, but the top of the entry area). If anyone knows anything, let me know.

Let's see...

My favorite zones:
For leveling: Darkshore, Thousand Needles, Duskwood, Stonetalon Mountains, Eastern Plaguelands, Terrokar Forest, Un'Goro Crater
Other reasons: Feralas, Eversong Woods, Azshara, Ashenvale, Zangermarsh

My favorite Instances: Shadowfang Keep, Sunken Temple
Least Favorite: Gnomeregan, Uldaman, Shadow Labs

My favorite City: Darnassus, followed by Silvermoon

Favorite Quests: The alliance Onxyia key chain, the alliance 'missing diplomat' chain, the Stalvan quest chain, the BE quest in Thousand Needles, the lazy peon quest in the valley of trials, the baby murloc quest in Zangermarsh, the quest where Sylvannis sings, the 'races' on Netherwing Ridge

the Ironforge Airport, the farms above the Wetlands
You can still get to those two. I know this for a fact. Syl's emo spot is on the peak of khaz modan.

Takes a mount to get to the airport/peak, and if you have some way to fall safely, you can jump down to the farms from there.

Where's the path up? That's my secret, you have to be in my guild for me to tell you. All I'll say is it isn't anywhere near where you might expect. Think whole different zone.

Oh yeah, I know some of these spots are still available, the majority aren't though. I know how to still get on top of Orgrimmar but its REALLLLLY hard and I haven't been able to succeed yet.

Despite my being Alliance on TN my heart is deeply Horde, virtually all are UD or Orc. Couple of Belfs, too.

My favorite lowbie zones:

-Tirisfal Glades
-Silverpine
-Duskwood

My least favorite:

Hillsbrad
STV (a lot of fun if in a group of 3 or more)
Silithus /snore

Since I have a UD 'lock I too love the warlock quests.
Horde-side Onyxia was a pain in the butt compared to Alliance.

Favorite grinding zones:

1k Needles
Desolace
Feralas

Instances I like:

SM, Dire Maul, Mauradon

...dislike: Uldaman, Gnomer (both with a purple passion )

Like was mentioned I love the jokes and comments from the npcs.

Favorite /silly male dorf "where's me hammer?..."
Least, most of the UD and Orc ones :(

Favorite capitals have to be UC and Ironforge. I especially like UC when Alliance raids it, because so many get lost in the bowels of the place. Muwahaha...

I've allways loved the background noise/music for the Brill tavern...I miss the old Troll "I kill two dwarves in the morning..."And as a Mage I got to play Ghostbusters. The test of faith test in 1k Needles is great. (Even if I cheated and slow fell)

I loved the "kill two dwarves" joke... :(

And yes! I love the test of faith quest!

However warlock quests? Suck ass. Also crappy? The hunter level 50 quest.

I remember my very first instance. Deadmines. I was on Cenarian Circle on my human paladin, and my wife and I stayed up late to run it. As much preparation as we put in, you'd have thought we were running Black Temple. I think we were both level 18 at the time, and once we got to the goblin smelting area we were in over our heads. We had to replace one of our team who just couldn't handle it, and brought in a level 26 rogue.

I thought that level 26 rogue was a frickin' super hero!

Anyway, it took us like 3 hours to run it, and it was so fricking epic to us. We had no idea what we were doing. LOL

So for me, Deadmines is right up there with one of my favorite things. Also, doing UD Strat with Sanrin tanking as a ret pally was up there too, and human Lovely on heals....as a ret pally. I still can't believe we pulled that off.

Ashenvale
Feralas
Hinterlands
Un'Goro
Hellfire
Zangarmarsh
Nagrand

Least Liked Zones:
Silithis (hate, hate, hate! My 70 druid and 60 rogue have never set foot there)
STV
Desolace
Blade's Edge
Shadowmoon Valley
Netherstorm

Favorite Instances:
Black Morass
Old Hillsbrad
Shattered Halls (JUST for the two-headed ogre that argues with himself)
Maraudan
Dire Maul
Upper and Lower Blackrock Spire
Sunken Temple

Least Like Instances:
Blackrock Depths
Uldaman

I loved the "kill two dwarves" joke... :(

I was just about to post that one. I was surprised when I came back to WoW after a year and a half break that it was gone. Bummer. :(

You can still get to the Troll village in Darkshore, and I even found out how to get to the empty Goblin area North of the Charred Vale (in Stonetalon). I finally just a few weeks ago got to the lake that you can see in Wetlands on the way to Dun Morogh up on the hilltop.
I've always meant to go see if I can get to the Ironforge airport, but never actually tried.

As far as zones, I've always liked the undead ones, Tirisfal, Silverpine, the Plaguelands. Duskwood looks neat, but I've never had an alliance character high enough to go there.

I was tempted to try and see if I could get up into Azshara Crater the other week, as I've discovered a way to climb mountains that is a more difficult version of the old cliff walking (but does work, whereas cliff walking was removed a long long time ago). I used that technique to get up to that cave and bonfire in Northeastern Mulgore (which I had been trying to get to since the game released and I saw it flying over one time).

I remember that Lovely! Twas badass.

I still love old world more then I love outlands...waaaay too many memories of world pvp all across it to etch that outta me yet. Most of the things I loved are long gone or previous content (40 mans, the AQ40 door opening event, Reckoning Bombs) but of WoW as it is right now I love the subtle amount of variety the game is adding. Being able to customize my mount, tabards, titles, soon hairstyle is nice. I like lookin unique, and showing off that i put in x amount of x to = Z!

I love leveling in this game, its far too fun. if theres one thing blizzard did right is make a pretty awesome level grind...even back before it was 'hard' (lol) it was fun. Particularly the new quests? That one with the sea monster the Theramore? Amazing.

Speaking of Theramore, saving the king and crashing the server? Best event ever.

That one with the sea monster the Theramore? Amazing.

I was disappointed to find out the marksmen or whatever for that battle can't be attacked by the Horde. :(

I love Warcraft. I grew up watching my brother playing through the campaigns of WC2 and WC3. I read about the different human nations and the heroes of Azeroth. Warcraft is THE fantasy universe for me.

So I like seeing more of Azeroth than I was allowed to in the RTS games. Anything in a zone that I can learn more about or that makes me think back to Warcraft 2 makes the zone worthwhile. Similarly, lore quests also grab my interest.

And anything that makes WoW feel like less of a mummorpugger is fantastic. Quests that require more brain power than a gold farming bot? AMAZING. "Kill X of Y," "get N of Z," or "go to that guy over there?" UGH.

And whenever a zone is too big, boring, or inconvenient? Don't get me started on Darkshore...
